I bought my Dacia Sandero three years ago and have done just over 30,000 miles. The car itself has been reliable with no serious problems. The issue is with the service plan. I paid for 3 annu... See more

Bought duster in 2019 June around end of Covid
Clutch gone Nov.2023.
Had previous Duster for five years no problem with clutch 40000 miles plus.
Bill to replace clutch £1000 now find another part
damaged another £800 not a cheap car r for repairs.Same drivers.
I was not offered an extended warranty at the end of my first warranty
Beware 2019 Dusters
Poor customer care
Poor customer care. Bought brand new duster. Having loads problems with car. Jumping gearbox. Poor fuel consumption spluttering jumping engine. Stopped running twice. Brand bew car with these issues. Dealership tells me nothing wrong with it. They haven't even looked properly. Very dissatisfied can't wait get rid if it.
Dishonest Dacia, don't buy one!
Bought a Duster that was 2 years old from a main Dacia dealer. After a few months the heater stopped on settings 1, 2 and 3 and could only be used on the maximum demist setting. Eventually after an argument the dealer paid towards a replacement blown resistor. 6k miles and 8 months later it's blown again. The dealer says it is a known manufacturing fault and requires replacement of the motor which is causing the resistor to blow, other owners complain of the same fault. Dacia refuses to contribute anything towards the repair which is estimated at £170. This is not due to wear and tear after 8 months and 6k miles use over the summer. This should be a product recall of it is a known defect in this model. Dacia have been totally and unacceptably unhelpful. Can't recommend. Will be taking the matter further.
UPDATE: Dealer called today to confirm that they don't think I should have to pay for this repair. They have kindly offered to pay for the labour and have asked Dacia to pay for the parts but Dacia are refusing to pay for any work. No explanation for why, just a flat refusal. What sort of company is this!

Steven McLean in Ayr was so helpful and supported us through the purchase of our new car . Dacia customer service is fantastic
Fantastic cars
Fantastic cars! They are reliable, cheap on fuel (LPG), not noisy, good space, and well equipped (media display, parking sensor).
The most unreliable car in the world!
The most unreliable car in the world!
During the first three years (from new), my Duster spent months being repaired by the Dacia dealer. It was at the garage every few weeks.
Now out of warranty, I have just spent £800 to get it through the MOT. Last month it cost an additional £900 just to keep it on the road. Additionally, the service report also has some expensive 'clouds on the horizon' for next year!
Simply not worth all the trouble.
Giving 1* is being kind
Giving 1* is being kind. Jogger is 8 months old and already has a fault with gear box. The customer service is extremely poor and very unhelpful. The only way to get a courtesy car is through Dacia assistance which is RAC. Waiting for RAC to answer is a job within itself. Been waiting 3 days now and just been told I can go and get the car after waiting another day and ringing Dacia and the RAC. I got past from pillar to post. The only thing is they can't deliver the courtesy car but can send someone to come and get me. I have other commitments which I have now had to cancel. I have used other companies which normally provide a courtesy car either delivered to your door or you at least collect where your car was dropped off. I would never buy from Dacia ever again. Shocking.
I'm so disappointed with Dacia &…
I am so disappointed with Dacia & Renault customer services. They have gone to the trouble & money in developing a tent that fits on the hatchback on the Dacia Jogger, but no-one can answer my questions, not the local sales team where I'm buying my Jogger from or the Dacia or Renault customer services. I've been trying to get answers since August 23 and just keep being directed to the Youtube video. The video is a great tool to show the finished assembled product but doesn't show you how to assemble it. If I order one, then find that at 5'2" I'm not tall enough, I can't send it back. It's classed as an unreturnable product !!! Do they actually want to sell them ???
Bought a Jogger Extreme in July
Bought a Jogger Extreme in July, had two faults appear on the system since then. First was a brake light fault at beginning of September, I called the dealership who said they could book me in at the end of October. Brilliant. The second was a possible engine fault a couple of days ago. Essentially the RAC diagnostic codes indicated a fuel sensor or fuel pump fault.
Called the dealership, Bedford, who said to bring it in but they would not have a courtesy car while any repairs took place, and one would not be available until December (over a month).
Was advised to call the Dacia assistance line as this would be the quickest way to get repairs done and to get a courtesy car. It's basically calling out the RAC for roadside assistance, so not the service the dealership said it would be.
It's only done 3900 miles.
I need a car for work, I don't have the luxury of taking over a month off.
On Monday I'll contact the finance company with the view to terminating the contract early as what I've been sold is faulty and the after service is unacceptable.
Dacia Renault Bolton produce excellent service
Dacia Renault Bolton once again provided me with excellent service. I have had the pleasure of being served by Paul and Sol and as always they were excellent. It's so nice to be remembered by the staff and made to feel welcome. All the staff are very cheerful and happy. Always have a smile on their face and communicate excellently. Whether face to face or over the phone it's always a joy to speak to them. I hope the higher ups see this and commend you on your continuous excellence. Even Damian who did my service spoke clearly on the video recording of the service and showed me underneath if my car explaining each section. Honestly, thank you for making this process so simple and easy.
Absolute Cowboys
Absolute Cowboys. I bought a brand-new duster 23 plate from the Dacia dealership, which is great but the after-care service is absolutely horrendous.
When I bought my brand-new duster from the dealership, I purchased the five-year extended warranty which was the original not third-party five-year extended warranty. I remember going through the Dacia web page, looking at it with the dealer and agreeing to buy it. Now I’m trying to register it with Dacia as it’s not showing on the Dacia app and Dacia are saying this is a third-party extended warranty and has nothing to do with them. This is just lies as it was bought from the Dacia dealership, and the five-year warranty was chosen off Dacias own website.
They are cretins and I consider this theft. They will do anything within their power to get out of things they have agreed to.
Would give -10 stars if I could.

The new 73 plate Dacia Jogger TCE
Just bought The new 73 plate Dacia Jogger from Sutton Park Tamworth.
The Sales Executive Steve was brilliant. He always kept in contact and kept me updated throughout the process, making everything as simple as possible.
I did have to wait 6 months for the car but although it is early days I love the car, worth the wait.
I bought the Dusty Khaki, Extreme spec.
Lovely and comfortable, plenty of room. Just superb. I think it was a really good deal. Thanks again to Steve for all your help👍
Breadown letdown
I recently had a flat tyre on my new Dacia Sandero.Having a spare wheel I thought no problem I will change the wheel. But alas the tool supplied to loosen the wheel nuts was useless and not fit for purpose,of terrible quality.
I therefore was stranded and decided to ring Dacia assistance.
I was unable to speak to a person but was directed to an RAC link. Online.
Eventually I was sent a message to say a mechanic would be with me in 8hours time!!
This is shocking and dangerous.
My only option was to ring a tyre company direct, pay a callout fee,pay for a new tryre and be on my way an hour later no thanks to Dacia.

It was just a week ago that I found this wonderful site 'Trustpilot' while searching for information on the problems friends of mine were having with their 'new' cars. I would now rate Trustpilot as one of the top ten sites on the internet and I wish them well for the future. My favourite online site has, for many years been John Cadogan on YouTube, he does a similar job to Trustpilot albeit in a far different way in exposing the disgraceful incompetence of motor manufacturers, and I would encourage anyone to use his site along with Trustpilot to evaluate car companies before making a decision to purchase, whether it be a new or a used car. Also, always check out the J D Power surveys.
I appeal to all of you that read this comment to do as I have done, and send a link for this site to all your friends, colleagues and family members to make them aware of Trustpilot. "SPREAD THE WORD". You will obviously receive many words of thanks when they realise how much you have saved them over coming years. I had never heard of Trustpilot until last week, but I know that it will soon become a household word, a word hated by many a manufacturer. The world has never been in such need of a voice to expose the corporate incompetence that now affects us all.
The only reservations that I have over this site is that I strongly suspect that many of the five star ratings are questionable. After the downright criminal fraud of Dieselgate I am very suspicious of the lengths that the motor industry will go to in deceiving us through lying and criminally presenting us with false figures and data. The diesel cars involved in Dieselgate gave out around 40 times more pollution on the road than what their sales literature and testing told us; software was deliberately configured to give out false figures during testing. Please read up on Dieselgate, and like me, you may never take anything a motor manufacturer tells you at face value again.
A five star rating that simply praises Mr Joe Blogs in reception for being such a nice guy while booking a car in for service hardly deserves space on here for that is what we would expect; such basic irrelevant praise only serves to skew the overall rating. We want to know how quickly and efficiently warranty claims and other vehicle faults are dealt with.
Beware of Five Star Ratings and go by the overall rating!
We the people, together with the likes of Trustpilot can shake the incompetents into getting their act together, and if they fail to respond favourably then we can vote with our feet and consign them to the 'Liquidated Business Scrap Heap'.
I purchased a brand new Dacia stepway…
I purchased a brand new Dacia stepway in December 2018. The starter motor went 6 months later. I didn't have my car for over 4 months. (They did provide curtsey car)
The following year the same thing happened again also prob with ignition again I didn't have my car for over a month. This year the starter motor went in April and again in June. I don't feel this is acceptable on brand new car with low mileage (19995). Hendy Salisbury where I purchased the car we're very unhelpful and very rude at times. They seem to think it's normal for a car less than 5 years old to have required 4 new starter motors. I am just seeking further advice
£180 diagnostic fee on 15 month old car
My 15 month old Duster has an issue experienced by other owners. It’s an easy fix. Upon contacting my local dealer they made no attempt to look at the car and sent me to the Ford and Mazda bodyshop. I complained to Dacia U.K. who booked the car in to be looked at (it’d take 5 minutes). Today I get an email to check into the dealer and this email states that I am aware of a £180 diagnostic cost for a car under warranty and for an issue that requires opening one door and looking at a seal. DO NOT BUY A DACIA - their dealers make Land Rover look professional.
Bought a Dacia Stepway on 2017 plate
Bought a Dacia Stepway on 2017 plate. It's done just under 19,000 miles. It needs a new starter motor. Already?!!! This is a problem in itself.
I've been informed by a mechanic that this may be due to their stop start function when city driving. However, this information was not from Renault/Dacia.
I bought Renaults in the past no problems and one lasted nearly 18 years and was amazing.
The car is still in the garage, coming up to one month because firstly the mechanics are overbooked and have more jobs than they can manage, which makes me wonder in itself as to wide numbers of issues cars. Secondly the parts needed are not available in UK, yet another major problem.
Why are these cars for sale here when there are no UK stock in storage/warehouse here available? When I spoke with Renault/Dacia customer service, it sounded as though parts for faulty cars are 'shipped' individually one at a time from France on a need basis. This isn't what I expect from a global and efficient business.
Customer services said the parts "It could take Months".
Months!
Totally unacceptable as they informed me Renault /Dacia parts are stuck in transit in France.
I assumed a globally renowned company would be affiliated with better, higher standards of service.
Why can't the parts be posted out from new car production line?
I've had amazing Renault cars and quick efficient service from them in the past so felt this car would be the same. It's altered my judgement.
It's costing me a fortune in taxi and transport as there are no rental cars available. My elderly mother who can't walk well is as good as housebound as I can't pick her up in the car. I was told by my local Renault customer service rep at the time nearly 3 weeks ago that they have no hire vehicles available, therefore I can't have one. After 4 calls there for updates. I have been told the same thing. This does not seem right as all dealerships usually can access hire vehicles.
So disappointing, distressing and frustrating on so many levels.
I made another call to customer services who said I am eligible for a hire vehicle, but also confirmed the part could be a long while as many parts are shipped and stuck in transit.
Terrible service
Terrible service clutch went on duster model
Car still in warranty and only done 24000 miles
They say wear and tear dealer and customer service very unhelpful they do not ring you back
Still in garage and want to charge £2200
Ordered a new one before this happened and will now likely cancel

Poor show Dacia
Experienced a disappointing transaction with the purchase of a car lacking essential features such as wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Regrettably, I only became aware of this deficiency upon collecting the vehicle, leaving me with no choice but to accept it. Attempts to address the issue with both the dealership and customer services proved unfruitful, as they displayed reluctance to rectify the matter or extend any form of goodwill gesture.
In addition to the missing technology, another inconvenience arose when the car was handed over without the locking wheel nut, an essential component for the vehicle's security. Despite this omission being acknowledged by the dealership, their proposed solution was to potentially mail the missing part after consulting with a manager, which raises concerns about the adequacy of their customer service protocols.
Moreover, Dacia attributed the absence of necessary parts to a chip shortage, a circumstance beyond my control and awareness during the purchase process. The responsibility seemed to be shifted to the customer, expecting them to meticulously scrutinise obscure details in the fine print, which is an unreasonable expectation in a typical vehicle purchase.
The overall experience with Dacia's service was subpar, leaving me with the impression that their priorities lay more with profit-seeking than providing a satisfactory customer experience. Given the unsatisfactory handling of the situation, I must admit my disappointment and question why I had expected more from this brand.
Regrettably, I have been left with no choice but to conclude that this would be my final encounter with Dacia. I cannot extend my gratitude for this particular transaction, as it has been marred by a series of avoidable shortcomings and a lack of customer-centric approach.
