I purchased a sofa and furniture protection plan through DFS, expecting that if I ever needed to make a claim, DFS would help ensure any issues were resolved.

Unfortunately, my experience after the sale has been very disappointing.

I made claims under the protection plan for accidental pet damage, which were accepted by the provider. Replacement parts were ordered beginning in January, and I was advised that they could take up to 12 weeks to arrive. It has now been nearly six months since the first parts were ordered, and I still have no confirmed repair date.

What has disappointed me most is DFS’s response when I sought assistance. Rather than helping to resolve the issue or taking ownership of a product and protection plan sold through them, I was repeatedly directed back to the third-party provider. Despite the delays significantly exceeding the timeframe originally given, DFS’s position has consistently been that they cannot assist because the claim is being handled by Guardsman.

I appreciate that the protection plan is administered by a third party, but as a customer I purchased both the furniture and the protection plan through DFS. When a customer has been waiting nearly six months for a repair with no completion date, I would expect more support than simply being referred elsewhere.

The furniture itself is good, but the after-sales support when a problem arose has been extremely disappointing. Based on my experience, I would think carefully before purchasing a protection plan through DFS again.

The guy who helped us buy the sofa was amazing, helped us first time we were in the store browsing and then came to help us through the buying process after we came back later with a decision. Was extremely knowledgeable and knew the answers to our questions on the spot. Thankyou!

First off all there was a big selection for all different budgets,and the sales man was really good, explained everything. Left you with no questions too ask very pleased with service

Great service met the salesman at the entrance then he left us to look around and we sat on plenty of sofas and chairs until we found the right style then the salesman came over and helped with the colour choice and sale.

Visited DFS on Saturday and had an excellent experience from start to finish. The showroom has a lovely range of sofas and furniture, and the quality is fantastic.
A special thank you to Beth, her colleague (whose name I can't remember), and the manager, who were all incredibly friendly, helpful, and accommodating. They made my first visit a really enjoyable one and couldn't do enough to help.

Really comfortable atmosphere. No pressure when looking but staff make sure you’re ok. Great service when we had decided what sofa made it quick and easy but explained everything. Really friendly team.
