Great
Great selection of plants and gift. Lovely cafe with a good menu choice and tasty food. Lovely friendly staff.
lovely choice of plants
lovely choice of plants, great coffee shop and a bonus for some sainsburys shopping without going into a large supermarket
Brilliant choices
Brilliant choices, exactly what i was looking to buy. Going to see family on the Continent tomorrow and wanted typically British products. I found Christmas crackers- entirely recyclable! -.and jams, pickle, shortbread etc.

Thoroughly enjoyed my trip to Dobbies
Thoroughly enjoyed my trip to Dobbies. Staff very pleasant and helpful, lovely array of different items in the shop, oh and the coffee's good to.
Sainsburys taken over
Very little like a garden centre, more like an expensive supermarket since Sainsburys has been added. Very limited garden products and what was available was over priced.
I really like the overall shopping…
I really like the overall shopping experience at Dobbies .
The variety of plants is very good .
The helpfulness of the staff is excellent
I’m particularly impressed by the commitment to recycling plant pots and using sustainable pots too …
The only slight constructive comment is that the prices are a little bit high : and so I tend to try and buy many plants either when on sale or at other stores
I like the garden centre but am finding…
I like the garden centre but am finding the prices of your plants are too expensive over last few months. Both my friend and I are considering alternatives
Lunchtime bad experience at Dobbies Brighton
Eating at lunchtime Dobbies Brighton on 27 August with a friend. The queue was medium and to be expected at lunchtime; however, it look an extremely long time to reach checkout due to inexperienced staff and slow procedures e.g. order taken down in long hand and passed manually to kitchen by staff member who was also responsible for totalling bill and receiving payment.
What was available was not clearly indicated on the whiteboards above the counter causing each customer to ask what was available and what was permissible under certain combinations/pricing deals.
Our food order included 2 cheese scones which were dried out and unappetising.
Purchased dobbies own branded compost…
Purchased dobbies own branded compost peat free and multipurpose, smells discus ting and nothing grew apart from tons of small mushrooms everywhere we had used it. Tomato plants got a black fungus on leaves and trunks doesn't seem like a coincidence to me Complete waste of time, money and hard work. Last year used a branded compost no problems and had so many tomatoes couldn't fit them in fridge freezer. Not impressed. They told me they had a problem when I complained about the compost and offered just to replace it. Bit late by then. Hope it hasn't damaged soil long term.
Nice atmosphere helpful staff
Your staff were so very helpful
Your staff were so very helpful - I was buying 6 bags of stones and the help was on hand. He also took them out to my car and my whole visit was stress free.
We had a lovely lunch and a fun time…
We had a lovely lunch and a fun time shopping for plants. The assistants were very helpful in answering our questions and helping us find what we were looking for.
I bought bargain plants
I bought bargain plants with good reductions.
At the checkout, one label was unreadable but the assistant patiently took the time and effort to ensure the reduced price was correctly entered.
