Dobbies Garden Centres - Royston Reviews 240

I had checked on line whether Miracle Grow compost and 100L bags of Bark clippings were in stock at my local Dobbies in Royston. They said they were available there. I was very disappointed to find they were not available! I had a voucher for £5 off if I spent £25. I found some other bark product which was 3 for £25 which I took to the tills. When i got there it had been reduced to £23.99! So I couldn’t use my voucher. I had to search around for something cheap to make up to £25. Were these reduced so that people had to buy other things to make up to £25!

Some plants looked rather worse for wear, probably due to the dry and windy weather at Dobbies , Royston.

Garden Centre now looking much improved.. excellent to enter via front . Breakfast good and service quick and pleasant. A lot of much needed improvement. Will visit again.

Food was of high quality and the service was of a very high standard. The improved decor was encouraging to recommend Royston Dobbies to others.

I was a bit confused when I arrived as I found the usual entrance blocked by the bags of compost, etc. Once I found the new way in to the building, there was no clear signage to direct me to the outdoor plants section. I followed my nose through a door to where it was located, but was not sure I was meant to enter that way. I assume the layout alterations are recent and perhaps incomplete. Otherwise, my visit was successful and I was pleased with my purchased plants.

Much much better now the centre has been revamped! 👍🏻

Was noticeably patronised by the cafe manager, not for the first time. If he can’t refrain from a sarcastic attitude towards customers he’s in the wrong job.

We had a very good visit to Dobbies. We were discussing how we were going to get 3 bags of compost into our trolley and if we managed to do that how were we also going to get plants into the trolley. We had decided we would have to do 2 trips to the checkout but an employee noticed our light and not only loaded the compost into our trolley but told us he would take it to the till and leave it for us to collect later. He also told us to ask at the checkout for someone to put the bags into our car for us. This made our shopping trip much less stressful. We are getting older and my husband uses a stick so this kind of help is invaluable.

Great selection of plants and gardening ephemera. I used my Dobbies’ vouchers so it was great value too!!!

The till did not take off the reduction so I had to query it. This happens too frequently.

Friendly helpful and knowledgeable staff.

This is the first time we have been back since the shop floor was being replaced.
The improvements are amazing, extra entrances have been made to enter the shop when looking around the outside. Everythinginside is now very well layed out.
Outside new fencing has been put up and a large selection of plants are on show to buy.

Had tea & cake in restuarant, lovely. Liked the new entrance to the shop from the plant area. Whole garden centre seems more airy, modern and spacious to look round. Plants for sale looked strong and healthy. Great.
