Dogs Trust Leeds - Excellent!
Dogs Trust Leeds - All staff have been wonderful in the adoption of our dog. They listened carefully and considered all our requirements with great care, answered any questions we had, and matched us up to a suitable dog - being very knowledgeable about each dog and their individual requirements etc. There was no pressure put on us and plenty of time was given to consider everything.
The adoption process itself was faultless and having everything explained in depth was very helpful.
Would highly recommend the Dog Trust if you're considering adopting a dog.

We called in to Kenilworth at mid-day on Sat 2nd May this year, after speaking to the colleagues at Telford on Friday 1st afternoon.
We had an engaging meeting with Erin who was wonderful. She was very aware of our previous long experience with Labradors. She introduced us to Maverick on video and we arranged to meet him on Friday 8th. We collected him the next day !! He is a beautiful dog and has settled in perfectly. We feel as though he has been here for ever !
The process of adopting him was faultless. It is difficult to see how the staff at Kenilworth could improve on it. They were all friendly, polite, knowledgeable and professional.

From our first visit to dogs trust darlington to see some of the dogs they have there till collecting the puppy we chose from them the service has been absolutely fantastic. Friendly and helpful staff, well cared for dogs and a clean spacious location. For anyone thinking of getting a rescue pet I would highly recommend using them.

I am trying to rehome my staffy
I am trying to rehome my staffy. I got in touch with dogs trust as the look reputable and would thought they would be a massive help. I was wrong. They came out to evaluate my dog and because of his “high energy levels” and boisterous behaviour they can’t help him. Which is pathetic. So pretty much if your dog isnt a lap dog and slouches about all day they dont want to try. The whole process was a waste of time. They dont care. They just want to make a nice sweet instagram/facebook post and pick and choose which dogs they are willing to help.
To me this “charity” is woeful.
Do not reccomend them at all.

We are sorry to hear that we were not in a position to take your dog into our care. We do our best to help wherever we can when we are approached by someone in the unfortunate position of needing to rehome their dog.
These decisions are made by the staff members at our individual rehoming centres and are always made on a case by case basis. We would need to balance considering if a dog could be safely handled by staff, and whether our behavioural team would be able to make a significant difference to their any behavioural challenges to get them to a point where we would feel that the dog was suitable for rehoming, even if it would be a very specific type of home that we would be looking to place them in.
While we are lucky enough to have specialist facilities at some of our rehoming centres, who can work with some of the more challenging behaviours that a dog could exhibit, we do need to also consider how many dogs with behavioural concerns are currently in our care verses the amount of trained behavioural staff we have available to work with them - looking at if we can provide for this dogs’ needs, as well as thinking about the safety of our staff.
As a member of the Association of Dogs and Cats Homes, we must take steps to ensure that all animals in our care have a high level of welfare. Bringing a dog into our care whose welfare would be compromised by doing so, or taking in more dogs with complex behaviours than we have qualified staff to handle them, would violate the guidelines which we are duty bound to abide by.

Excellent support from registration to adoption and beyond.
Excellent, well-informed and professional staff who supported us through the adoption process from registration to adoption. Because we already have another dog (previous Dogs Trust adoptee) we needed to ensure old and new dog would be compatible so we fostered for a week before adoption. The staff went the extra distance to ensure adoption would be a success from the perspective of both dogs; so much so that after only 3 days in foster care, we knew our new boy was in his forever home. Dogs Trust are the only people I would recommend - their support is second to none. I am biased as I have adopted 5 dogs previously before this one and knew I could trust them to help me find the right match.

They arranged 2 meets with my dog before I made the decision to rehome her. I was given lots of information and advice on how to settle the dog in and there is ongoing support too, particularly to help with any behaviour problems.

We applied to adopt a dog
We applied to adopt a dog, and within a few days we were contacted. Unfortunately missed the call and the dog was offered to another family
During the process the other family decided he wasn't the right dog for them, so we were contacted again.
The process was smooth and obviously well established. We visited the first time for an initial meet, and took the pup for a walk around the field. We weren't asked to take control of the dog, which I think would have been a good opportunity for us to get to know him.
We visited the second time a few days later, and brought him home that same day.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful, and their passion for the animals shone through.
They followed up after two days, and the behaviour helpline were able to give some advice around cat reactivity.
Overall a good service, and centred around the animals, as it should be.

Perfect Rehoming
The staff at the Evesham branch were incredible, very accommodating! The entire adoption process was quick and smooth sailing right from our initial enquiry, the pre-adoption 1-on-1s were very handy in regards to meeting the expectations of Marley. He has settled in nicely, and I would highly recommend the Evesham branch to anyone looking to rehome a dog in the future.

Easy to adopt

We applied to rescue a dog via the dogs trust website, to which a couple of weeks later we received a phone call that had matched us with a puppy.
Ernie is honestly the most perfect dog for us, and the team at Dogs Trust Cardiff matched us perfectly. The support that was offered before the adoption, and post adoption - has been incredible.
The frequent first meets before adopting were also good, and we liked that we were able to go for a walk rather than just playing with him in a contained environment. The little goodie bag on adoption day is also fab, and had everything that we would need for the first couple of days.
As a couple who work full time, we were unsure about the possibility of being able to rescue a puppy - however, Dogs Trust viewed us as being suitable, and matched us with a dog who really fits our lifestyle.

Open and honest
Dogs Trust were welcoming and happy to happy to be flexible with appointments.
They gave us the opportunity to meet our new dog in a number of situations including those he finds difficult so we fully understood the dog we would be adopting.
They provided training and aftercare to help us settle our dog into his new home.
