Drawboard has completely replaced the other very well known reader on my work system and at home. I love the way I can mark up a print using a writing tablet as if I am working on a piece of paper.... See more

I really want to like Drawboard, but it's holding me back
I'm not a Drawboard stalwart that got their perpetual license revoked. I'm a student and IT dude that uses it for engineering work. I'd be happy to pay for their subscription if I were more impressed with their quality of service.
1. Drawboard constantly asks to be my main pdf viewer even though I repeatedly tell it not to, since this is only one of several PDF tools I use. I asked support about this and they linked me to a UWP installer with a newer version that should fix it, even though the first was auto-updated in the Windows Store. Now I have two instances of the program. I'm logged in to the same account on both, but the preferences didn't sync. I asked support and they asked me to find the settings.dat file but didn't say where to put it. I tried copying the settings.dat file to the new instance, but it didn't sync my toolbar and didn't solve the default program popup.
2. Applying the 50% student benefit is really hard and sends me on a link loop. I haven't bought premium because of this.
3. There is no hotkey for the hand and select tools (besides spacebar for temporary hand tool)
4. Hotkeys aren't labeled in the app
5. Pasting in images is worse than Adobe and becomes super sluggish, even on my new Asus H7604 with ample resources. App generally seems unoptimized and unfit for medium and heavy tasks.
I want to like this app because they have good drawing features. After these issues, I'm starting to use Bluebeam for engineering drawing instead since it's more robust, I use Adobe Acrobat Pro DC 2019 for large documents and pdf editing, and my browser for simple viewing and markups.
Vast improvement in their service
Vast improvement in their service. I do engineering. I use this software almost everyday
Moved to paid subscription
I purchased the Drawboard PDF app in 2019 with a one-time fee, now its moved to paid subscription.
The market is saturated with subscriptions. Will be deleting the program.
They removed my paid version of the product.
I paid for the full version of this product. Now they have removed that version, so I am no longer able to use it, so now I am forced to use a subscription version of the product. Thats a really bad way to treat your old/existing costumers.
What could they have done?
They could:
- Give a lifetime subscription to the customers who bought the "old program".
- Make a different version of the program, only available for the old customers, who paid for it.
be aware
as many people have said the company business model looks like a scam. I paid for the full license and lost all features because they turned everyone into subscription model
Drawboard PDF is great, past reviewers don't get it
Drawboard PDF is a fantastic PDF program that is getting better and better.
The recent reviews are misleading. These reviewers paid $10 many years ago and expect the the app to be the same as when they purchased it.
Drawboard PDF isn't old school software. They don't sell a version of the app and let users have that version forever. They only maintain one version, and it's to everyone's benefit. If they had kept the same version from when they purchased it, then it wouldn't have the updates and maintenance meaning they wouldn't have a functioning app today. It's ridiculous to expect that the app they paid $10 for more than a few years ago to receive all the bugfixes and OS update patches whilst also getting all the feature upgrades. Unbelievable.
Terrible business practices
Terrible business practices. Couldn't keep their part of the deal to ltd buyers!
Drawboard PDF is a scam!
I purchased the Drawboard PDF app in 2019 with a one-time fee. When I tried to use it recently, I was shocked to see that my purchase had disappeared and that the app was now asking me to subscribe to a monthly plan.
Many Pepole contacted Drawboard support, and they told us that our purchase was no longer valid. This is ridiculous! I paid for a one-time fee, and I should be able to use the app whenever I want.
I am so disappointed with Drawboard. They are clearly scamming their customers. I would never recommend this app to anyone.
payd a one payment for access to the…
payd a one payment for access to the app a while back, worked fine and now they remove the possibility of using the dated version we payd for and want monthly payments, talk about greed.
Game Changer
Drawboard PDF is a game-changer for anyone working with PDFs. Its inking technology is incredibly precise and intuitive, making annotating PDFs a breeze. The user interface is user-friendly, the collaboration features are seamless, and it works across all your devices. Plus, their customer support is outstanding.
New redaction tool is amazing!
Rip off
Rip off. I paid some years ago to use this as a one off payment. Now they change their minds and want a monthly payment. Get stuffed
See hundreds of enraged customers…
See hundreds of enraged customers explaining their frustration with a company that removed features customers had already paid for with no access to previous versions of the program they paid for by searching "reddit drawboard sucks now"
Benefit reduction despite payment
Benefit reduction despite payment without refund of payment. Very arrogant approach when contacted them, too bad for a product that was oonce good.
Very disappointing after update
I used Drawboard for 2 1/2 years since it was free and was very happy with the features. Unfortunately, an update came out a few weeks ago, which now restricts me and I can no longer use essential features without paying. It's a shame that Drawboard is destroying its reputation in this way.
How to lose customers in one lesson.
Removing essential features as an update, without any warning... what a great way to lose a customer. As a teacher, I had a lot of fun not being able to give my lesson because, in front of my students, I had a giant ad pop up when trying to use basic features.
An suddenly I have to pay… AGAIN?…
I used the programm for 2 years now for my studies and had to pay 15€ because I apparently had a newer computer. My friend got it for free. So it worked good till shortly. I can not use the pens anymore I did before and if I wanted to I would have to pay monthly 30€. I am majorly disappointed and would not recommend downloading this thing… I don’t get what I originally paid for anymore… I was once a fan.. goodbye drawboard I am switching to notes
Easy, Tidy & Smooth
The app on Windows is great. I'm glad I found it and started using it as a reader. Its user interface is very smooth, tidy, and easy to use. Preserving the current page of reading, highlighting, and the UX is great to me.
