Don’t bother booking a hire car from this company. I’ve just dropped a car off ant Edinburgh anirporr and the 2 men who were at the reception desk had 0 customer service skills & very rude. Pay the extra money and get a hire car from enterprise or somewhere like that with good customer service where you feel valued as a customer. There’s a reason why they’re cheap because they hire rude & arrogant staff. Their customer service is diabolical. I will never rent a car from here again or recommend anyone to hire a car from this company. You have to wait at least 30 minutes for the shuttle bus as well which is ridiculous. I have never used a hire car company where they want so many documents & a £1,500 deposit.

We had a lovely time in Edinburgh thanks to the service provided. We originally booked a smaller car, however, Rob was very kind as he upgraded it and was keen to get us the best deal. I would 100% recommend this to anyone.

Great experience at Drivalia Edinburgh City Centre. Rob was friendly, professional, and clearly knows his job. Even when he was on his own, he stayed calm, efficient, and helpful without any stress or panic. Made the whole process smooth and easy. Highly recommended.

Cheap rental with City Centre location, & customer service on pickup was particularly good - thanks Rob, who rescued me from trying to do the paperwork on my tiny phone and did it himself. Cheery and helpful. Upgraded car with the + and - that involves. New Reg car apparently prepped by airport (but no windscreen fluid it turned out - had to buy later, it took 3 litres of it!).

Note that Drivalia's return hours are better than my local rental place. Note also that their cheap hire price is perhaps partly due to a heavy mileage charge if you go over 100miles/day average. I did 260 miles in 3 days, so perfect for me.
Cant really see car in shadowy car park to check condition, Rob suggested doing walk round vid somewhere out in the open later, which I did. No probs/extra charges when returned car. Booked thru bookingcom/Kayak, all a bit complex but it worked.

Booked a hire car to drive home for Christmas through a third party broker carjet. The collection was at 1pm on the 21st of December at Drivalia Edinburgh Central which was a Sunday. The office closes at 1PM.

I arrived at 13.05 as was slightly held up by delayed public transport due to the Christmas traffic in Edinburgh and by the lift to get to the pick up depot in the Q Car park as the office is on the 4th floor down.

On arrival I found that the office was fully locked up with no member of staff anywhere near.

I tried to use their intercom system at the side however got no response. As I was 4 stories down in a car park I had no phone reception so had to get the lift back up to the surface to try and call Drivalia customer service which of course is closed at the weekend.

I then called the Drivalia office at Edinburgh Airport who did answer and was told the office closes at 1PM as a straight fact and there was nothing they could do but if I came out to the airport they might be able to help. They did advise that I should call carjet but as their number starts with +34 i was unable to do this.

I then spent nearly 90 minutes making my way out to the depot on the offsite car park at Edinburgh airport to see what they could offer. I assumed a small increase as had already booked a car. Instead I was offered a car at 4x the cost of my rental. I of course did not take this and instead found a car for half the price of my original rental through Enterprise.

I am convinced the team member at Drivalia Edinburgh Central left early however this is conjecture and I cannot prove this. However, if a team member at Drivalia were to check this and find they did leave early then I would appreciate my rental costs back as that is of course now lost.

The complete lack of empathy and customer service from this company is the worst I have ever experienced and I would strongly urge anyone not to book with them.

Absolutely super star service from Rob at the Edinburgh Central branch. After being let down by another car hire company he came to our rescue. Very professional and prompt service. So rare to find such great customer service.

STAY WELL CLEAR OF THESE COWBOYS (EDINBURGH CENTRAL - GREENDSIDE ROW) Do not hire from this company - utter scammers. Half day hire paid online at a reasonable £53 … until I went to pick up the van. Extra £20 for not having a credit card (obvs very small print … and I had already paid!!). Then an extra £44 because I was not returning it after hrs atl 6pm (nothing obvious on the website to highlight this reticular charge .. why a charge anyway, returning it late invites no extra costs to them. (I offered to take it back earlier to avoid the charge - not a chance, pal, you’ve already paid for the hrs!). Reputable Companies don’t charge extra for this). And then the van itself .. rent a wreck! Bashed, cabin smelt like an ashtray and looked like the inside of a bin. Front tyre clearly illegally bare tread, inside of the van hadn’t been cleaned from previous use (clearing a garden or something) as it was full of weeds and muddy) It was embarrassing. And the staff member was arrogant, disinterested and obviously used to giving the tired blurb about ‘terms and conditions’. Shambolic disgrace. SO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. PLEASE STICK WITH PROPER HIRE COMPANIES!!

Excellent service from Rob, always very friendly and helpful.
I’ve rented 4 cars in the past few weeks and they have always been in good condition and well turned out.
I would recommend them for rental in central Edinburgh.

My wife and I decided to book the car in Edinburgh Waverley at the last minute and took the first morning slot on 12 November. We got served by the very cheerful Rob who gave a very good car for our use to drive up the Scottish Highlands and assured us it will be an enjoyable drive. He went thru the pick up and drop off checklist items to note thoroughly and everything was smooth and we were able to set off our journey immediately. In my opinion, Drivalia’s car, rental prices & customer service support is good overall. Highly recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I would like to say thank you to Robb who made our process of borrowing car as great as possible. We recommend this company by all means.

The car company allows you to book to hire a car at 1pm on a Sunday in Edinburgh City Centre, but closes at 1pm... This is not communicated at the point of purchase, as most cars don't let you arrive before your booking as they won't let you have the car until your allotted time. Furthermore, the company has no customer service at this time, and gave no help or guidance. I stayed overnight to pick up the car on Monday morning instead, to which they said they have cancelled the booking (a week later I still have received no cancellation) and tried to charge me triple the amount. Crazy! The man in the shop who I spoke to was extremely rude, and had no intention of trying to help me, only scam me out of more money. Terrible. I had to find alternative arrangements, and still don't have any sign of my money being returned.
