Daniel at Glasgow Airport went above and beyond to help me! At what was a very stressful time for me he was understanding and kind.
Easy pickup, very relaxed checkout, clear instructions and no hassle. Had a bus to pick up and take back to the airport that ran like clockwork. Would use again in Glasgow!
We now regularly use Drivalia when renting cars from Glasgow Airport. Prices are much cheaper than the on-site companies, cars are absolutely great as are the staff and the free shuttle bus transfer i... See more

I was badly let down by Drivalia when I went to collect the hire car on 15th February 2026.
Firstly, there was no mention of the £1500 security deposit - this is the highest by far that I have ever experienced, anywhere. Others are only £200 - £300!
I was taken out to a peugeot car which had just been washed. The inside was disgusting and the car had 40,000 miles on the odometer, which is very high by hire car standards.
Anyway, I took the view that it was only for a week until I got a new car.
I drove out onto the main road the puncture warning flagged up. The steering was also vibrating quite badly.
I returned to the branch immediately, stopping briefly to check all tyres were inflated and wheels were secure.
I was dealing with Daniel Stenhouse, who I believe is the assistant branch manager. He was particularly unhelpful. He advised me they had no other cars. He then proceeded to offer a smaller car which I said I'd look at. I asked how much cheaper it was and he instantly replied 'a pound a day'.
He brought this tint MG3 car over which I got in and instantly refused. This was totally unsuitable and I felt I'd just been completely mugged off. I declined it and asked for a refund. I also asked for the paperwork to show I'd returned the peugeot, which he was not keen to give me at first!
He initially advised that I'd need to go through the booking agent to get a refund, even though I'd paid by card in branch. He then advised that the refund would be issued and the £1500 security deposit released.
I was also told the £134.37 rental fee would have to be refunded by the third party I booked through, even though I paid this at collection time to Drivalia.
I had to get taken back to the airport to collect a hire car from another company at significantly higher cost due to Drivalias failure to fulfil the hire. No apologies or anything.
I had various calls and emails to Drivalia in the days and weeks following this debacle. I called the branch and Daniel was acting very shady (doesn't tell you who you're speaking to, said my refund was being processed even though he didn't know who i was... - all very underhand and shady). They clearly had no intention of refunding me or releasing the £1500. I ended up getting my credit card to return the £1500 under the dispute process as Drivalia was claiming this can take 28 'working days' to return to my account!
I had to chase and chase them and threaten legal proceedings to get the £137 hire charge refunded. This took 3 weeks to get from them.
No apologies whatsoever from anyone at Drivalia - utterly disgusting experience all round.
I would advise avoiding using the Glasgow Airport (off site) branch at all costs.
I used Enterprise and Europcar - both of whom had newer, cleaner cars and had exceptional customer service. Both also said they'd heard similar stories of other customer's experiences with Drivalia..

Having paid extra for excess accident insurance, on arrival at the pick up point we were told we must either buy extra insurance for £60 or £80 or put down a £1500 deposit to cover any additional excess accident costs. Felt absolutely ripped off by this and am not sure I’ll ever use car hire booked via easyJet as a result

Read the 21% BAD reviews before you book! Quoting Very poor company, Never again, and avoid like the plague!! Drivalia gave away our car as we were an hour late, and the real scammers Carjet would not refund us!! I will give my honest opinion as much as I can as I along with many others have been treated unfairly... Companys like these are acting immoral and do not deserve the business.

Worst hire experience ever -
1. Charged for tyre damage I didn't cause - damage was marked the condition sheet but the branch maintained this was the wheel not the tyre (this is not clear). £300 for an already very worn tyre.
2. Brake disk warning light on from the beginning of the hire - I checked what the light meant after 6 miles and photographed. Branch would not accept the light was on at the beginning of the hire.
3. Charged £35 for minor change to my first name on the rental agreement to match driving licence - never had this before.
4. "VW Polo or similar" was an MG with 42,000 miles on the clock - should have expected due to low initial rental price
5. Branch staff very unhelpful and felt to be working to a play book to maximise what they can make out of their customers.
6. Impossible to escalate complaint as customer services involves referral to the branch manager - there is no escalation above that entertained.
Lesson learned £60 rental ended up at £400.
Be warned!

Leased a car from the Glasgow airport branch for 2 days (3rd-4th Jan), We were picked up from the airport to the depot to collect car. The transfer driver and gentleman in the office were super friendly, I was told there is a £1500 deposit to be paid on a credit card that would be pending until the car is returned. Returned the car the next day.. no damage reported so no issues. We were told the pending payment (£1500) would show for up to 28 days depending on bank provider. 30 days later the payment is still showing on my credit card account with Drivalia saying its nothing to do with them and couldn't do anything about it. Drivalia said the payment had been released, I then spoke to My bank (Lloyds) who told me it is down the company who took the payment to cancel the pending payment and was nothing they could do. Contacted Drivalia customer support again to which i was told its nothing to do with them and they couldn't do anything ( the money will be sat in there account) and when I asked to speak to someone else I was told no!!! Absolute scam!! Now there is £1500 pending on my account that Drivalia won't release back to me as "its nothing to do with them". Do not use this company!!

I hired a car for one week to pick up at Glasgow Airport. This was done a week in advance. The day prior to pick up, I was sent a text message to sign in for my car hire.
On arrival at the airport, my instructions were to call the company and be picked up to go to the hire centre.
I called and was informed that unfortunately they had no cars available for hire.
They told me that this was due to a problem with their computer system which had overbooked the cars.
Their website was still showing cars available for immediate pick up.
The company representative was very apologetic but said there was nothing he could do.
I will never use this company again.

Do NOT use this company if you are returning after 7.30pm as the shuttle back to the airport stops. This will leave you stranded and Uber are not keen to collect for a such a short distance.
No recognition that this is not safe or fit for purpose especially for a lone female traveller. Bookings should not be taken where there is no return shuttle.
