DRIVALIA hidden mileage fees. Beware!
I booked a car at Stansted Airport. The agent was abrupt and rude both to me and to other clients waiting in the office. She attempted to pressurise me into buying additional mileage. I declined and said I would pay for extra miles upon return. This I did, and was charged not just the mileage but a £10.25 “administration fee.” No such fee is listed either in the DRIVALIA T&Cs, or CarJet, through which I had booked my rental. Buyer, please beware!

I had an excellent experience with the car rental company at Stansted Airport. The whole process was smooth and hassle-free, from booking online to picking up the car. Mehmet was friendly, professional, and very efficient, which made the pickup quick even after a long flight.
The car was clean, well-maintained, and exactly as described, with no hidden surprises. Returning the vehicle was just as easy, with clear instructions and a fast check-out process.
Overall, great value for money and outstanding customer service. I would definitely use this car rental company again and highly recommend it to anyone travelling through Stansted Airport.

Very disappointing experience with…
Very disappointing experience with DRIVALIA Rent a Car.
I spent over one hour in the office trying to resolve issues with my booking. There were two other customers present at the same time, and all three of us were facing different problems before being allowed to collect our vehicles.
In my case, I forgot my physical credit card. Instead of offering a reasonable solution, I was told I had to purchase an additional waiver at £35 per day on top of my original booking. This significantly increased the total cost.
I was also charged £100 for a baby car seat for 5 days, despite the advertised rate being £17.50 per day. The pricing structure was unclear, and there was no flexibility or willingness to review the charges.
One customer lost his original booking simply because he arrived two hours late and was required to make a completely new purchase. Another customer was charged extra because he did not have proof of address.
Overall, the experience felt focused on applying additional charges rather than helping customers resolve issues reasonably. The process was stressful, time-consuming, and poorly handled.
I strongly recommend that future customers carefully review all terms and ensure they have every required document before arriving, as flexibility appears to be extremely limited.

Camilla at the front desk was incredibly rude and unprofessional. From the moment I stepped into the office, her behaviour was dismissive and genuinely childish. I have never encountered such an ill-mannered staff member; she made the entire experience unpleasant. I will never be using the Stansted branch again. Avoid this location if you expect even a basic level of respect.
