The receptionist was just rude and abrupt, she clearly doesn't enjoy her job and that's okay, find another one. Voiceover, changes from male, to female to a different male voice - what's that about!... See more

The benefit of being put at ease
I was tested at Colchester. The driving examiner Mel called me by my name and welcomed me well on arrival. The feeling helped me greatly to settle in.That single act of being put at ease helped erase my anxiety.Afterwards,I drove with confidence and calmness.
Lovely Experience
I had my driving test yesterday at the York Test centre, it was a pleasant experience with Paul (my examiner) and I passed my test. He ensured I wasn't tensed and was patient to explain things to me, his instructions were very timely and comprehensive.
Bunch of money grabbing scammers
Bunch of money grabbing scammers, to be frank. Customer service is useless, take days to respond and don't help.
John-Yeading examiner
My driving test was at yeading test centre with John. I was a nervous wreck and he really helped me feel at ease and calm me down which I went on to pass my test. A very kind man.
Impossible to get test appointment
Takes ages to book a test very inconvenient for learners. This needs to be sorted asap
It was better when It had it's old name…
It was better when It had it's old name DVLA.
Roberto (examiner) & paul (centre director) isleworth
I had my test at isleworth is 10 September 2024 with roberto. Roberto came out Of his office and did not address me not at once. He had his back to me and Said my name not even bothering to look until I met him at the furthest table to me. Nonetheless, I carried on. We went outside to the car and asked which one which were using today and I pointed out our car. He then asked is my instructor gonna be coming with us today and I said yes. Little did I know things would take a turn from here.
I enter the car. I thought it was weird because Roberta told me to press on the break. I’m assuming to see if the break lights were working. Both my instructor and I in the car thought it was weird but nonetheless he took a note of this and from the previous not addressing me, we thought this was weird however we just carried on.
Throughout the test, I followed all instructions and remained confident. I’m familiar with the area, have practiced extensively, and used multiple resources—my car’s satnav, road signs, floor markings—to ensure I adhered to speed limits, especially between 20 mph and 30 mph zones. I made note of which roads are 30 mph, frequently checked my speedometer, and maintained the correct speed throughout.
Roberto claims I failed for speeding or irregular speed, but that’s completely false. I know I didn’t exceed the limits, and my satnav, road signs, and road markings back that up. My instructor, who was in the car, can also confirm that I was not holding up traffic on Twickenham Road to Syon Lane by going 20 mph. Wrong!!
I then spoke to paul pedrick the next day. He spoke on the phone with my instructor and heard him out on the day.
In our discussion, Paul reiterated that, after speaking with Roberto, he believes I did not perform well during the test, which is why I failed. While I accept the result if it is based on my driving performance, I still feel I wasn’t treated fairly or with impartiality, and I did not feel Paul was being understanding of my concerns. For me, the issue is that I did not drive at 20 mph on a 30 mph road, as Roberto claimed. I adjusted my speed and did not exceed 30 mph, maintaining the flow of traffic as required. There is no specific rule that states I must drive between 25 and 30 mph at all times—it’s merely a guideline. I drove according to the flow of traffic and in accordance with the conditions of the road.
Despite the result, I will not be bullied into accepting a narrative that Roberto and Paul is trying to push. Whilst I can accept that I the result was unsuccessful and there is no changing that result, I know my own performance, and I’ve invested time, effort, and money into this process, so I cannot simply accept what I believe to be incorrect feedback. While this may be just another day at work for Roberto, this is my life, and it deeply affects me.
During our conversation, Paul mentioned, “there’s nothing I can say to make you feel better about your test” and something along the lines of “you did not perform well, and Roberto along will all examiner base a driving test amongst performance.” While I accept the outcome and can understand how hard it must be to be an examiner, I did not call to feel better or get get comfort from Paul, but to have a conversation where my frustrations could be heard and acknowledged. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen. I am simply a customer, while Paul and Roberto hold power in this situation, and it feels as though my concerns are being dismissed without proper consideration.
I feel as though well roberto failed me simply because he had an altercation with my instructor and didnt like being told about himself. My instructor only said to him hes been doing this a long time and he didnt have his id on him (which I didnt think was necessary to provide but ?) but nonetheless he can provide it, my instructor also said dont ruin the test for me because he was kicking up a fuss over id which he could present after the test. Roberto replied something like “youve already ruined it for her” which he did fail me but I only had 3 minors and the serious fault being appropiate speed but this was also one of my minors so how can it be both a minor and serious but his reasoning was because It was the whole of syon lane ??
Paul also said that apparently it was every time the speed changed i was driving at 20. So the whole of my driving test i was driving at 20??
They both are unprofessional and cant even get their stories straight. Isleworth is a joke !!
Illegal work going on
Never venture for a Driving license in the U.K. today onwarrds Most Corrupt company takes money from Agent's, Driving schools and Test Examiners. There is lot of corruption going on of taking money from the new learner driver's of making Full Driving License, Booking the Practical Test at the test center earlier than the actual date booked online by the learner driver. It has been reported several times about the same on email Public.Liaison dvsa.gov.uk;
customerservices/dvsa.gov.uk but no action has been taken, as DVSA and DVLA are all involved in this and people have to be caution about this before thinking of driving license. Earlier booking dates are not available because all this corruption that has been going on from years.
It needs to be brought to the notice of the Government High Officials.
Unprofessional
Unprofessional. I spoke to one of their reps today, I don’t remember his name but he was very unprofessional. His way of speaking was really annoying and he didn’t seem serious or even respectful.
STUART- Horsforth
STUART- Horsforth
When arriving to my test I felt extremely anxious as it was my first driving test, but Stuart made me feel extremely at ease. He explained the test very clearly and when giving directions was also very clear and helpful. He made her comfortable conversation which supported me doing a drive that helped me pass as the nerves disappeared. Thank you!
Andy the best!
I passed my driving test today in Letchworth my 4th try! I had crippling nerves but Andy made me feel so at ease! He was absolutely amazing! Truly a credit to you!
Excellent Examiner - Harj
I had my driving test last week at Horsforth center, Leeds and my examiner Harj Bhambra was very kind. He was really soft spoken and easy to communicate with, easing all tension. It was my nth time taking the test and I can't sing enough of his praise for how well mannered and professional he was with his job. He was far from that typical “I am here to fail you” energy.
Great driving invigilator
Driving invigilator Jeff based in Northampton was amazing made the test a fun experience and calmed my nerves very well whilst on the test. Very happy to have passed thanks a lot
Worthing Field Place, Marianne is a great examiner
Had a driving test in Worthing Field Place at 8.10 am and passed, wonderful time to have a test as the roads are quiet, the examiner Marianne was lovely and put me at ease and I couldn't have wished for a better examiner.
I had a great experience on my driving…
I had a great experience on my driving test with Antony in MK. He was friendly and made me feel comfortable which helped with my nerves as after failing once already, I was very worried about this. Thanks for a great second test 👍🏼
They claim it's because of covid but…
They claim it's because of covid but that's a bunch of lies now, The problem is it's the apps taking the appointments and then obviously having to pay for the apps, I'm not sure how somebody in Scotland can book a lesson in Kent. It's just ridiculous, And now it's got to the point you've got to share your own personal data with these dodgy app companies. What could sell it to private companies like your personal driving licence number... They've actually made it even more unsecure through their ridiculousness
I did a driving test yesterday at…
I did a driving test yesterday at Belvedere test centre, Woolwich road. I was very happy to have passed.
My examiner Roger was very clear with his instruction and i did not feel nervous around him. This is the first time I have seen him in this test centre.
I must also mention my amazing instructor Salah. He is the best a student could ever get. If you are a very nervous person and struggling with confidence and fear, then he is the one for you. Even if you give up learning to drive he never gives up on you. He motivated and supported me in every possible way. He was so determined to get me to pass.
Utter lack of respect for the public
We are in 2024, several years after Covid, and it is still impossible to book a driving test using the DVSA website, as dodgy instructors and driving schools book all the slots in bulk as they get released. This has been happening for over 2 years and nobody seems to mind that there are crooks who resell the slots at up to 4 times the normal price, because DVSA is utterly incapable to provide a functional service for the public. Shameful that nobody has thought about taking measures to stop this for so long.
