Although my move has taken a while as I put a deposit down very early. The David Wilson agent has had so much patience with me after my chain broke and I lost my first house. Today I moved in to my second house - if it hadn’t been for her help and advice I may have gone for an older house. The new one is fabulous! Delighted with it all.

Ben looked after us in the beginning and was lovely, the whole process was explained and we were guided through it with ease. Towards the latter stages of our purchase Debbie took over and went above and beyond to make sure our moving day was a little less stressful. Can’t thank her enough. Andy the site manager is very approachable and gets any minor issues sorted in good time. We love the house!

All the individuals of the company we have encountered, both before and after moving into our new house, have been pleasant and helpful. However the overall purchasing experience was disappointing. We were informed in August that the house we were reserving was expected to be completed by January: this turned into February which was disappointing but acceptable. We were eventually informed, with no explanation, that the build would not be be completed before the end of March or even into April which eventually resulted in our incurring considerable expenses for extended rental and storage costs. At no point were we offered any explanation or apology for the 3 month delay and communication with DW was poor.
Since moving in we have encountered very few defects/snags, which have been remedied by the site manager who is very helpful.
We are happy with our house, but would make the following suggestions:
There is no light in the electricity cupboard which makes looking at any of the equipment in there tricky if you are trying to hold the door open at he same time.
The instructions for operating the complicated heating and hot water systems need to be much better explained.
It would be useful if the garage floor were sealed to avoid dust being walked into the house.
It would be better if the power point in the ensuite bathroom had not been fitted above the sink where a mirror would normally be positioned.
It would be useful if the cupboard next to the hot water tank cupboard were fitted and ventilated as an airing cupboard.
An option to have a TV aerial fitted would be useful.
The kitchen is attractive but not convenient for people with limited mobility - drawers which make equipment readily accessible rather than low level cupboards would be a very useful option.
