Tickets purchased via PayPal, but bank has agreed to pursue chargeback
Hi Guys, So sorry we all find ourselves in this situation, however I just wanted to say don't give up. I went straight to my bank, with the date of my transaction to hand (you can find this in your PayPal history). From that, I got the date that the transaction from my debit card hit my account and the bank have agreed to pursue a chargeback as the transaction is within 540 days. The value of my transaction was just over £200, so I don't know if that makes a difference.
The bank has refunded me the money but, if they are unsuccessful, I will have to repay it, so the 60 day wait begins. I'm just writing this review to let you know that your bank CAN take action even if the tickets were purchased via PayPal. Good luck.
Disgraceful
Like many others we bought tickets for comedy in the park and have received an email saying they have gone out of business. Unfortunately under section 75 of the consumer credit act you can only claim back from your bank if the transaction was over £100. My transaction was exactly £99 😩 so I will not be able to get it back. This is obviously a huge scam given the number of people have bought tickets for these events, The company has clearly made many thousands of pounds. The comedy in the park events were large events with people attending paying £45 a ticket so that’s a massive profit gained at a cost to consumers. Utterly disgraceful and completely immoral.
Gone into liquidation today

Ripped Off- Comedy in the Park
I have been ripped off too- comedy in the park in Lincoln. Event has been cancelled after being postponed once. Been told for a refund via Paypal, who are refusing as its over 180 days. £180 down the pan :-(
ZERO STARS
ZERO STARS - By now I assume everyone has received the email advising the company has gone into administration and STOLEN our money! Strategically done outside of Paypals dispute timescale so I expect I am one of thousands out of pocket £200. If anyone has any success or advice on this please feel free to leave advice for others! Can we hold Wicksteed Park liable for this? Im so angry...
Appalling
Appalling, booked VIP tickets for UB40 at Powderham Castle, near Exeter, concert rescheduled and now just received email to say cancelled and to go back to the company you paid for the tickets through (Pay Pal) they said the sale is over 180 days and that they won’t refund and my bank say the same. So essentially “Easy/Simply ticketing” have simply defrauded me out of a considerable amount of money. Legal action will be forth coming as the company is still registered as trading and active.
A joke
A joke. PayPal have said they won’t refund because it’s over 180 days.
Has anyone contacted their bank who paid via PayPal? Any luck?!
£200 Stolen. ZERO STARS
THIEVES! I have finally received the email that I've been waiting a year to get. Basically, "We've got your money, we're giving you nothing, we're rich with your money. P!$$ OFF." How much have they made from all the punters they've ripped off?
SCAM of a company
SCAM of a company! Booked Craig David tickets in March 2021 - had an email to say it had been rescheduled but I couldn’t make the new date as I was getting married so asked for a refund and was denied. They then moved the date again and now had an email today to say it’s cancelled and to seek money back from PayPal (they can’t do anything as way outside 180 days) and to contact my bank which I’m currently in the process of doing. SHAMBOLIC
Scammers stole money and don't respond to emails
Had tickets for comedy in the park, was rescheduled and now just received email to say it's cancelled.
Have been told to go through paypal for refund (who can't help as its outside of 180 day protection). Absolute scam of a company, don't respond to any emails, probably enjoying the high life on all our money 🙃
Would give 0
Would give 0 - definite scamming going on here, bought tickets for comedy in the park, lincoln, cancelled and rescheduled due to covid, now cancelled and no refund, someone has made a lot of money on this!
No great shock - Liquidation
No great shock.
Everyone else must have got this email. 100% what was going to happen all along as they ride off into the sunset with all our money !
"
COMEDY IN THE PARK - CANCELLED
It is with a heavy heart and deep regret that we must announce the cancellation of all of the scheduled events organised by M&B promotions, and the end of operations for both M&B Promotions Ltd and ourselves Simple Ticketing Ltd.
We were amongst many high-profile event organisers forced to reschedule many events due to the COVID 19 pandemic.
Despite the best efforts of everyone involved, this combined with the extreme logistical and financial setbacks caused by the pandemic mean it’s no longer viable for us to continue trading.
Ticket holders for any cancelled event who purchased tickets via ourselves (easyticketing.co.uk) should contact either Paypal for a refund or your bank/credit card provider to administer a chargeback. If tickets were purchased anywhere else, please contact your point of purchase. "
EDIT : The one 'glimmer' of hope is that, previously, my S75 charge-back was denied due to the PayPal issue and that we'd been offered a re-schedule or credit : in essence the goods / service were STILL available. Now the companies are moving to liquidation said services are withdrawn indefinitely. I used a credit card so one would hope (?!?) that gives more protection.
Same as everyone else
Same as everyone else, been trying to contact them, just automated reply but no follow up.I have tickets for Comedy in the Park Lincoln, changed form June 2020 to July 2021 since then my husband has been diagnosed with a terminal illness so no way we can go, I have asked for a refund or if all else fails can we sell them on only reply was see T & Cs say you cant sell on !!!!
Terrible service and company
Same as everyone else. Event cancelled due to Covid and after numerous emails, cannot get money or credit back (not that I want credit) I want my money back after the shocking service! Sick of getting "due to covid we are short staffed" It isn't washing anymore! Tried to call and they are not taking phone calls - Joke of a company. Bank or PayPal can't help either.
Wouldn’t even give 1 star
Wouldn’t even give 1 star. Company changed Craig David event date due to Covid, even though he performed a week later, PayPal wouldn’t refund my money and now I’ve sent countless emails that I never get a response to and when I call it states everyone is working from home due to covid!! A shocking company
