OK, but......

I was pleased with my 800 ltr butt, so I ordered another one. But just some observations that I hope are useful. They are very large so you need the right space. I wanted to join my two very close together, and ordered the "side connection kit" - but that was misleading, the required item is "water tank connection kit". Since the 1" outlet fittings are slightly angled away from the tank side profile, I found it impossible to get the butts joined close (12" apart) because the supplied pipe is very stiff and could not be curved into the fittings without strain, so the seals were ineffective and leaked. I have given up on the joining, and changed to re-piping my rainwater goods to fill each butt independently. Finally 800 ltrs is .8 cu mtrs. My water board charges 89p per cubic metre, so the pure monetary value (to me) of 800 litres is only about 71p. At approx. £400 per butt delivered, it will take over 500 "emptyings" onto the garden to break even on the capital cost !

excellent communication and service

They did not have the base in stock but phoned me immediately and offered another version which was. I received it within days and they refunded the difference immediately as promised. In the middle of the lockdown I was much impressed.

Reject tank sold as good

Ecosure 500 litre ltr "Wide Boy" Upright Black Water Tank Factory Second Grade B
The tank had a thin weak area on the join which leaked despite being sold as tatty mis-shaped and "no leaks" I sent emails and had no response

Excellent quality and service

After ordering a much more expensive butt from another company (still not here after 4 months and no communication) I gave up after a few weeks waiting, got a charge back on my credit card and found this company. Much more choice and cheaper, even with delivery charge. This was towards the start of lockdown. I had to go on the chatline two or three times to ask questions and young lady, Chloe, think her name was, was very helpful and funny. Made a change to "speak" to someone with a sense of humour. I ordered a 285L slimline tank (ideal down a side access next to a garage as it leaves three feet to get past with a wheelbarrow/bins) and a 525L tank. Later after much searching for large pots to grow climbers in and nowhere having any stock, I found suitable ones at Ecosure. Cambridge tall square planters. Chloe arranged to add them to the same pallet so I didn't incur a delivery charge and I also wanted the round bit cut out to get more compost in as they will be in long term use. No problem at all. Chloe also arranged for the taps to be added free of charge as I couldn't work out how to add them to the order on line. The tanks and pots arrived in good time minus the taps. I rang them, answered straightaway and they sent the taps out first class. They arrived next day but only one and it was the wrong size. I rang again and they sent out an adaptor and the other tap which arrived two days later. All fitted easily and perfectly. Even supply the plumbers tape for a tight fit. The pots and tanks are very strong. So far they have been in situ for three months and look as good as new. Even though the black pots have been in constant sun in a south facing garden. No fading. I was so impressed with the tanks ordered another slimline one for the narrow side of the greenhouse. I wanted to drill a hole at the back at the top to run an overflow hose from. I asked if the tap hole could be at the other end so that I could drill the hose hole near the lid to be able to get my hand in to screw the attachment (bought elsewhere). They couldn't change the tap position but created another lid hole at the opposite end so it came with two lids. The holes for the outlet taps are encased in brass fittings so screwing the taps in is very easy. The big tank comes with brass fittings at each corner at the base and another partway up on one side so you could stand it directly on the ground and use that to put a watering can under. But that would mean you'd lose the bottom foot of water. You just decide which hole to drill out. Only thing I didn't like was the metal stands for the slimline butt are far too expensive. I created my own stands with bricks and railway sleepers. I fitted a webbing cargo strap to the garage wall either side of the slimline one and did it up at the front to avoid it toppling though doubt it would as it's so heavy. But I live in a very windy area. I haven't had any visitors during lockdown but two tradesmen have noticed the butts at the front and been very impressed with the quality, one asked for the company details to place an order, and neighbours have commented favourably about the pots.

Lid fault rectification via John.

Tank arrived with me within a few days for a fair price. I noticed about a week later that the lid didn’t seem to screw on properly, I rang the company and dealt with John (around 2pm). Fired over a video and some pictures of the issue via email, John identified the issue as me being sent the tank with the wrong lid. The next morning a new lid was with me and the issue swiftly solved. Pleasure to deal with.

EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE JON JAMES

purchased a water tank from this company around 8 months ago, it arrived without issue and my husband started using it. We had cause to need a rubber seal for the lid and contacted the company expecting to pay but it came without charge along with a new lid!!! I’m really impressed by Jon James at this company and I did ring to thank him but wanted to put something in writing for everyone to see. The amount of times I’ve had cause to ring OTHER companies who make promises but never follow through is saddening but this wasn’t the case with Ecosure and I’m really impressed. I believe that any sales department sells the initial item but after sales care sells the second and third. Thankyou again Jon James for impressive after sales service. You are a credit to the company

Fantastic Quality....

I ordered several quite expensive water butts, and was slightly unsure as I hadn’t used the company before. There were a few communication problems, mainly due to the people who normally deal with things being on holiday. When they arrived, however, the water butts were fantastic quality, well packed and the fittings were extremely solid and good quality. The subsequent communications were promptly answered and I would definitely order again - in fact several people have asked me where I got them from!,

Strong and aesthetically pleasing water butt.

I purchased the 525 litre mini pillar kit to replace a 700 litre tank that had developed a crack. Delivery was very quick and the kit includes everything required to get the butt into operation, right down to a roll of PTFE thread sealer tape included with the tap! The green marble effect finish of the butt gives it a pleasant look and it certainly appears to be very strong. The lid is a good tight fit and there is a fitted brass insert to screw the brass tap into, so no " thread jumping" which I have experienced when trying to get a water tight seal with plastic taps in plastic butts. You do need to decide where you want the diverter hose to enter the butt and drill your own hole in order to fit the connector. There is a hole that you can use, but it is covered by the lid when the lid is in place, so requires a slight modification. So far I am very pleased with the purchase and am now waiting to find out if it stands up to Frost as well as is claimed, although I have no reason to doubt that it will.
