I have had several editors in my lifetime, many of whom are dear friends and colleagues of mine, and yet all of whom have retired or changed career paths (or perhaps were too polite to say no to my requests)... I was referred to Editing Press by a good colleague and quite frankly I'm very pleased... I would have enjoyed a personal call or two from the editor himself (this is old fashioned I'm told, but not so!) but that didn't happen. Next time I'd like that very much. Thank you Mona and team!

I am an academic who has published with peer reviewed journals. I have a regular copy editor, who was too busy for a job, so I chose Editing Press to review my paper. Although they were prompt, and gave some useful recommendations, they missed many small errors, and incorrectly "corrected" several grammatical "errors"--even after I had brought this to their attention (see below)!
In the end, I had to re-edit my own paper before submitting it to the journal because of the multiple errors still present in the manuscript. Next time I will return to my longtime copy editor, whom I trust.
Grammatical error example: I had the following sentence in my mss. "...who, he suggests, is all too ready to give up..." Editing Press "corrected" this to "...whom...etc." I explained to them in a note why "whom" is incorrect here, yet they ignored my note, and re-"corrected" "who" to "whom" once again! There were several other instances similar to this.

Great feedback (from proofreading to summary to constructive criticism to further development) and a pleasure to communicate with Mona. I am thankful to the Laura Bassi Scholarship and the entire editing team.

Editing Press did a great job on my PhD thesis. They were able to work with my university's editing guidelines and return my manuscript back to me in a timely manner. I was very impressed by the detail of their edits. Mona deserves a special mention for her impeccable customer service.

This editing experience provided me with the best comments I have ever received on my essay, so this is a lot given that I have worked with greatest professors of Columbia University. The editing just provides the best outline for the development of your writing, both conceptually and in terms of organizing both the essay and your thoughts.

I was very impressed with the editing services provided by Editing Press. I used the thorough-editing track for a manuscript that had been collecting dust on my desk; I had been planning to clean it up for journal submission, but it turned in to one of those things where neither me nor my co-authors immediately had time to make changes, it was on the back burner, etc.

The feedback from the reviewers was thoughtful and impressively detailed, and they caught all sorts of odd phrasing and typos in the text that I completely missed (the joys of multiple authorship haha...). Amazing work!

This was my first time using Bassi Editing Press and it was amazing. I gave them a paper that was mostly finished and they really did a great job gently pointing out gaps, fixing typos, and making me think more about what I had written. I will definitely use them again!

Pretty happy with the revisions that have been done. Mona has been very helpful and she responds right away. Very quick and easy!

Mona, who manages correspondence, due dates, etc. is kind and responsive, often e-mailing back well under 24 hours. She is a pleasure to work with, not once have I had to wonder about the status of my manuscript.

As for the editing, I submitted a 275-page thesis well before the agreed deadline. I in no way expected the editors to get back to me any sooner, as the early submission had been my choice. Regardless, Mona assured me I could expect a turnaround time similar to the one initially agreed, and indeed, this was the case.

Where the theoretical/literary content is concerned, it is evident that the editor took notes, understood the work’s foundation, and suggested pertinent ways of improving the thesis. Every comment, from linking sentences to larger theoretical faults was spot on, and as much as someone with my lack of patience and as sick of my thesis might grumble, I truly appreciated their work. It has been very helpful to have these gaps pointed out to me, and my work is better for it. I especially appreciated their suggestions for tying together the overarching claims of the work, as I have lost perspective on which initial claims/questions were clearly answered and which weren’t. The answers are in my head, and I have a pesky habit of assuming they’re in the reader’s head as well, which the editor kindly pointed out to me.

Regarding the more mechanical aspects of language, the editor pointed out all formatting flaws and grammatical mistakes I missed, in a way that was polite and a breeze to get through.
