This was an exciting trip! Not only educational but adventurous as well! We also learned about coffee production from planting to the final product, and chocolate. We learned so much about the local flora and fauna and had fun doing it. The adventure activities were fun and exciting from zip-lining through a tropical rainforest to snorkeling and seeing beautiful fish. This trip ranks as one of the best EF tours I've been on.
Fun and active
The itinerary was great. Each day was better than the last. We started in the jungle and got to relax as we were surrounded by nature. Then we went to the volcanic area and enjoyed trails and the hot springs. Last, we enjoyed more water activities on the coast. There were so many fun and exciting activities on this trip.
Wow, what a jam-packed tour! The kids had enriching and fun things to do every day. They got to see so many things in such a short time. The rafting was fantastic (our son's favorite). The tour guide was great. The hotels were nice and the food was delicious and authentic. It was educational and fun--what more can you ask for?
Overall good. Food was lacking variety- rice and beans for most meals. Lodging OK. Too much time on a bus, not enough time on beach and other sites. People speak English primarily which could be a pro or a con (con for me as I wanted my daughter to really speak Spanish on the trip). Highlights were the activities and the group bonding.
Costa Rica was beautiful with so much diversity in both nature and culture. The activities were a perfect combination of each and really exemplified the best of the country. We loved the action packed tour with all the outdoor activities (rafting, hiking, ziplining, etc) and the tour guides were excellent. I was expecting a bit more time on the beach the last two days and was slightly disappointed by that, but overall the experience was wonderful; the perfect combination of fun, education and physical activity!
We did seemingly endless excursions, including ziplining, white water rafting, canoeing, snorkeling, chocolate/coffee/pineapple plantations and tasting, volcano hikes, volcanic hot springs soaks, among so much more. I don't know that we could have fit another experience into the tour, and we were all pleasantly exhausted by the end of each day. The local cuisine was delicious and satisfying, even if the travelers loved to complain about beans and rice with each meal. They even made songs about it! The hotels were clean and comfortable, but the campsite where we stayed for two nights certainly took the cake. It truly felt like we had gone off the beaten path!
What an amazing adventure. Got to see so much!!
Very busy trip. Could have used a little more down time. Food was not as good as expected. Two out of three hotels were less than what was expected.
