EF tours kept everything easy and simple to understand. From what paperwork needed to be turned in and when, to providing helpful tips to be a good traveler vs a tourist. Our Tour Guide was amazingly informed and friendly and helped make this trip one of the best experiences we've had as a family.
For all Families that maybe skeptical on sending your child on a trip with or without you. Based on my experience I was able to join both my children and see for myself how the Teachers and chaperones really took very good care of the group and stayed up over night taking turns. I can’t thank the team enough, great job to the Red Rock Elementary teachers and staff. And thank you EF for making this type of vacation possible to our children and families. Please continue on making these trips possible. Sincerely, Flores Family
Fantastic experience
Travel experience was easy and carefree. EF tours thought of everything to make it a wonderful experience. Our tour guide was amazing- and someone I will never forget!
Guide was accommodating to special needs. But the rest of the tour guides were lousy and rushed. Some didn’t even care to make sure the group stayed together. The food was terrible except for the gladiator and pasta experiences. The hotels were atrocious. A super 8 or Red Roof Inn would score higher than these hotels. Drywall was crumbling off the walls. I wasn’t confident of being safe. My father joked that we should take turns sleeping in case someone tried to come in. I won’t be traveling with this tour group again. It wasn’t worth $5000 a person.

awesome tour itinerary and full of memories
Terrible service from EF. The food was bad and the hotels were bare minimum acceptable. Clearly they try to save money by booking group dinners at hotels. Trouble is, the hotels they book have really bad food. How can you have this bad of food in a country like Italy?
Made memories to last a lifetime. Between the people, the sights, and the activities, the tour was enjoyable and easy.
Best tour director and bus driver. Safety was a priority.
Definitely worth the time and effort. It was amazing to try new foods and drinks, and the spots you only see in movies. It was really a great trip that we are still talking about on a daily basis!
Great experience for my 7th grader!
Overall - amazing experience. The tour director, activities, local guides, transportation and bus driver, and itinerary were top notch. Food and accommodations were less impressive and could have been better.
Hotels and Food 2/5 - Accommodations and additional money to upgrade to room with my child wasn't cheap, but the quality of these specific products felt cheap. The food was mediocre at best, and not ths greatest for value. When I went and got my own food on my own it was so much better than the group food that was given to us. One restaurant, left the group hungry because portion sizes weren't anything. Our tour director had to purchase additional food for the group back at the hotel due to this because our entire tour was hungry after leaving the restaurant. Also, the selection was pre-made and would have been better if multiple options could have been given for the guest on the tour to be able to pick between a limited menu. Hotel internet was horrible, for how much I paid additional to room with my child to room with me. No air conditioner was quite the shocker for an American group. Showerheads didn't work in some of the rooms properly, weather stripping was coming off, carpet in some of the rooms was faded, broken air conditioner in the one hotel that had it. Tour guides, bus driver, tour director 5/5 - Really the saving grace of the tour entirely. They were the best!
I was genuinely looking forward to traveling to Italy and letting EF Tours plan everything. Unfortunately, I would have been better off planning it myself. Over the course of seven days, my daughter and I hardly ate, because they never gave food options, just hotel dinners that were bland and questionable, placed in front of you and expected to eat or go to bed hungry and hotel breakfasts without hot food as an option, basically cornflakes or sliced ham - every dang day. By the 7th day, we decided to skip the included hotel dinner, as did most of our travel group, and paid for a restaurant and had the most delicious food. Aside from the poor food selection, the hotels were also not great. I understand that Italy has some history, but the hotels we stayed in were old Motel 8 quality. No AC, drainage issues, and beds that were smaller than twins (basically cots) I loved the itinerary and how fast-paced everything was; there was no downtime to be bored the entire week. My only suggestion here would be better communication. Our group consisted of 4 leaders (40 people) and a tour guide. There were multiple times during the week when plans changed, and not all four leaders were made aware. It caused confusion and uncertainty. At one point, the bus dropped us off in the city. We were told, "There's been a change in plans, and the bus isn't available; you will need to take an Uber and meet across town by 1pm." Getting 40 people into Uber's in a country where we don't speak the language without our tour guide was incredibly frustrating. A week later, I am still shocked that it took place the way it did. I am looking forward to traveling abroad again, but I will not be using EF Tours
The places were great. But everything else was mediocre or sub par (food, accommodations, and communication).
The food was awful. The accommodations were awful and he was forced to room with two kids that were completely out of control. It was overwhelming and they didn’t allow them to spend much time in any location so it felt just very rushed.

Our tour through Italy was truly the experience of a lifetime. From gondola rides in Venice to the powerful moments during the Jubilee year in Rome, every stop was unforgettable. A huge part of what made it so special was our incredible tour guide—knowledgeable, kind, and always keeping us safe and on track (no small task with a group, especially in Rome!). My daughter and I will cherish these memories forever, and we’re so grateful for the care and heart our guide brought to the journey.
My kid loved Italy. However, the meals left a lot to be desired. She would wait until lunch and then buy her own food. Also, from day one and even on the paperwork I filled out and completed well before the trip, I requested that she room with her chaperone (Aunt) that also paid to go on the trip. This is due to my child having been diagnosed with ADHD. The EF school advisor told me it wouldn't be a problem. However, not until the day they were in route and on a layover in London did an EF advisor call and say she would have to room with the other girls. They had over 6 months to relay this to me. After returning from the trip, I received a bill for $630 for having to room Elizabeth with her Aunt. This was NEVER related to me until I got the bill a week after the trip was over.
Well organized, tour guide was amazing, loved not having to wait in long lines, and awesome variety of experiences.
