I love everything about Italy. Especially the gladiator training experience was a huge hit.

Lifetime opportunity!
Great tours but lacking on food experiences and lodging quality. Be prepared to walk..... a lot.

Italy, via EF, was a beautifully memorable experience from start to finish. Everything was impeccably planned. 2 of 3 hotels were top-notch, food was local and delicious and travel was well-planned. The activities were age-appropriate and we had some free time to do some things that were not pre-planned. Great experience for all involved!!

Just took the trip to Italy with my daughter. While we loved some of the places we went to, the food we had for dinner was a huge disappointment. We were not given a choice for the meals, had a predetermined portion of chicken and potatoes for 3/4 of our meals, and many people went to be hungry at night. We had pasta on our last night but it was with pesto sauce which many did not like. Everyone was hoping for authentic Italian food and that was not provided. Another disappointment was the fact that we did not get to go INTO many of the places listed on the itinerary, we quickly walked past places with hardly any time to snap photos. While the guides were knowledgeable and kind, we had to quickly move through things. We were told then that if we wanted more time, we could walk back during our “free time,” that was supposed to be used for lunch, and look then. We also had to plan things to do and buy our own tickets to those things. For example, when we found out we were not seeing The David in Florence, we tried to frantically get tickets but they were sold out. So not only did we not go into the Doma there but missed seeing one of the most iconic things there. Very disappointing. The hotels were also located about an hour away from our destinations so we spent a lot of time traveling every day. For the cost of this trip, the food should have been much better and we should have had a least a choice of food, we should have been going into more things and I should not have been putting more money towards other activities.
It was so much fun!
The experience wasn’t the way it was presented to me and not too educational as it was supposed to be.

Great collections of locations around the country and they it interesting for young scholars to activate learning with fun!
It was better than we could have imagined!
Excellent Tour Guide!!
Sub par accommodations- all of our hotel accommodations were over AN HOUR from our daily destination. This really impacted how much we were able to experience as much of our trip was spent traveling on a bus, not exploring the cities. To add to that, many scheduled tours were cut short (we only had 25 minutes in Pompeii!) because of timing issues and delays. We also had very little free time to shop and explore on our own, a big disappointment. The food was terrible and dinner usually included a small iceberg lettuce "salad", a pasta dish and desert (most times there was no protein and we never saw fresh fruit the entire trip)- in fact many times we skipped the "included" dinner and purchased something on our own. Overall we made the best of it but won't be traveling with EF Tours next time!

Italy was filled with educational and fun packed days for our middle schoolers. Wouldn't hesitate using EF in the future.
I would do this all over again!!!
Phillipe was a great tour director and the local guides were amazing!
The tour was excellent--a great way for my child to bond with her friends and experience Italian culture and history.
We had a lovely time exploring Italy with our EF guide.
