There were a lot of places we visited that I would have never thought of. Venice was my favorite not a lot of the busyness that you see in Florence and Rome.

I would not recommend EF Tours or Brussels Air to anyone. Insurance was worthless.

Our CUNY/UA students had an unforgettable journey through Italy . They explored the canals of Venice, the colorful streets of Burano, the art and history of Florence, the iconic Leaning Tower in Pisa, and the timeless beauty of Rome. From tasting authentic Italian cuisine, to interacting with locals, visiting world-renowned museums, and walking through centuries of history, every moment was a learning experience beyond the classroom. Students immersed themselves in the culture, asked thoughtful questions, built friendships, and expanded their global perspectives. This trip was about more than travel. It was about growth, connection, and understanding the world in a deeper way.

My recent tour of Italy was nothing short of spectacular. Every part of the experience—from the breathtaking historical sites to the delicious food—was beautifully organized and thoughtfully paced. The itinerary blended famous landmarks like the Colosseum and the canals of Venice with hidden gems that felt wonderfully authentic. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable, sharing fascinating stories, local traditions, and helpful tips that made the trip even more meaningful. The accommodations were comfortable, the transportation smooth, and every detail was handled with care. This tour gave me memories I’ll treasure for a lifetime. Excellent educational experience
Food could be better.
The tours were well organized and the bus rides were comfortable. The hotels and group meals did not meet my expectations. For the cost of the trip, I expected better quality food. The first group meal of chicken and potato wedges was not what I expected when coming to Italy. I understand that feeding a large group is difficult, but the food quality and selection should be reexamined for future trips. The group meal in Rome was more authentic, but I didn't see many people eat the entree or dessert. I would recommend more salads, fresh vegetables and fruits. They were hard to come by on the trip. The breakfasts were lackluster, but acceptable. We had a lovely lunch at a vineyard, which was the best meal of the trip. The meal in Florence was also very good, served family style. But again, more variety/options would be lovely. We had the same pasta several meals in a row with limited protein/vegetables. The destinations and time allotted at each stop were great. More independent time in the cities of Rome and Venice would be nice, but our timeline was dictated by the long drive to our hotels and the bus driver's need for rest. This is understandable, but unfortunate for those of us who wanted to do more exploring. The tour guide in Venice and Rome, specifically were lovely, but their content was tailored to a more mature audience and bored the students who haven't been to college or extensively studied history and architecture. The students didn't understand the references to types of architecture and names of people/civilizations, so they had a hard time following the stories. As an adult, I was able to follow most of it, but I see opportunities here for improvement. Perhaps get a guide who is also familiar with the age range of the students, so they can tell anecdotes and explain the context around the ruins in a way that will be more interesting and memorable. What was life like for a 15-year-old in Rome during the period when the forum was used? How would a male teenager's life differ from a female's? How would your rank or wealth impact your lifestyle? These are the types of things the kids may be more interested in, rather than the influence of the Etruscans on the Roman sculpting techniques. In Venice, the guide talked too much about his parents and their living situation. I walked away with very little from that tour and would have preferred to explore the city on my own. Again, he was a nice guide, but did not give the kind of details about the city that would interest our young group. The guides in Pisa and Florence were much better, in my opinion. They gave specifics and told interesting stories that helped us imagine what life was like when the various buildings were constructed. The hotels were habitable and clean, but the beds were uncomfortable with limited towels, toilet paper and pillows. I would rate them a 3 out of 5 stars for a European hotel. The AC barely worked in two of our rooms. For the price we paid, I would expect a better location and/or better quality rooms. They were fine, but I would not choose to go back to any of them in the future. Overall, this was a good experience for me and my daughter. I'm glad we did it, but I wouldn't travel like this again. I think it's more of my personal preference. I'd prefer getting to know a city better and staying in the city rather than being isolated in a suburb and spending so much time on a bus. My daughter loved being around her friends and other kids her age, so I think it was definitely worth it. Once was enough for me. Our teachers and trip leader were all lovely and did their absolute best to ensure we had a good trip despite any bumps in the road. They were wonderful, and I'm very grateful to each of them.
My 2 teenagers came back very happy. They had a great time. They commented on how the tour guide was very helpful. They ate ready for a next vacation with EF Tours.
