Very good price for 2 folding electric bikes. Range as quoted of a little over 20 miles, build quality seems ok and no problems to report after five months use. So far so good!

I recently bought a 2-year-old LifeCycle Mountain Sport in a private sale and on closer examination when I got home found that the key switch on the battery was broken so I phoned up Electric Bike World in the hope of getting a replacement. Managing Director, Stuart, answered the phone and couldn't have been more helpful. Rather than have to pay to send the whole battery to them for repair I was guided through how to take out the old key switch and fit the new one - which was pretty straightforward. So all that was required was for them to send this small component (at a very fair price) in a jiffy bag and this arrived within a couple of days. Great service, especially, when you consider I hadn't even bought the bike from them.

And what about the LifeCycle Mountain Sport? Well, inspired by my new purchase, I re-joined the Cyclists' Touring Club (CTC - "Cycling UK") after an absence of over 40 years and went out on my first ride with the local group today - my first serious ride on the bike since buying it, and what a terrific day! The ride was 40+ miles, something I haven't done since last in the CTC all those years ago, and the bike was an absolute joy. Exceedingly comfortable (no after effects!), beautifully balanced/proportioned, brilliant road-holding (inc a rainy stretch down muddy country lanes) and superb braking.

As far as the electrics go, I was keen to see if I could keep up with the rest of the group (mostly seasoned regular cyclists) under my own steam where possible so I reserved use of the motor for the steeper inclines. As such, a full day and 40+ miles later all the lights were still fully lit, clearly with many more miles left in them with this level of use (and these batteries are 2 years old). But it will be very comforting to know on future rides that this additional spare capacity will be there to call upon if the group is pushing harder or the terrain is more demanding. Its also worth noting that on level terrain or the less severe inclines the Mountain Sport and I were keeping up very comfortably on pedal-power only with a range of other cyclists on lightweight non-electric bikes, despite the additional weight of motor and battery.

So, with this early initial experience, I am very pleased both with the bike and also with the support from Electric Bike World and look forward to a new era of e-cycling, courtesy of the LifeCycle Mountain Sport.

By the way, if a new electric bike is prompting you to get back into cycling or to try it for the first time do go to cyclinguk.org and checkout your local branch. I got such a warm welcome on my first trip today and the Mountain Sport got an equally enthusiastic reception, despite being the only e-bike there - and most groups should have a variety of rides going out most weeks at a range of different levels to suit everyone.

I just love my new e-bike, well made and fast with great battery life, if you're thinking of buying an e-bike get one from electric bike world they are the best - They even have an onsite workshop for servicing and repairs and are so helpful , 5 star!

I have had a very pleasant experience in finding my electric bike on the Internet, dealing with the main body at the ElectricBikeworld firm in Southampton, who was so helpful, giving me the greatest confidence to purchase from them. Allowed me to have a two week trial. The bike was sent out to me in Cambridgeshire via Courier. It was in excellent order. I have since enjoyed riding it - I love it.

The amazing range is great, but not as far as expected due to the hills around here.
It has an off-road mode which is very useful too.

The gears frequently need sorting out, but not a problem.

purchased my mountain sport in march or april 2016 from southampton,,cost a bit ,but hey you get what you pay for in life,been a real pleasure to ride in the summer sun,effortless on the flat ,small effort up hills but not so much as to bring a sweat on,just a great bike,,i get admiring looks wherever i go and even let 1 or 2 people that look trustworthy have a short burst on it,all agreed they love it to,,the throttle is amazing, just twist and go,turn on the override switch, sit back with my ecig and smile all the way relaxing,,Now in february my bike has not been used for a few months,but sitting pretty in my hallway fully charged and itching to go out on to the streets again.cant wait,,problems?? na,,just a couple of punctures,,,easy to fix on the front wheel,, bit more tricky on the rear if you decide to take the wheel off,which i found out for myself,still,, took the bike back to the shop just using the throttle as i could'nt turn the peddles and the shop staff did everything for me,,good job done by all thanks,,,my advice if you want an ebike,,get one,, they are fantastic,,you will not regret it......

BEFORE I BROUGHT THIS BIKE I WENT DOWN TO THE SHOP AND HAD A TEST RIDE OF 2 BIKES I WAS INTERESTED IN FOUND STUART AND THE GUYS THERE VERY HELPFUL NOTHING WAS TO MUCH TROUBLE FOR THEM .. I'VE HAD THIS BIKE NEARLY 4 YEARS NOW

They say the specification and the performance of these bikes are like no other well i wouldn't want to try any other

Very helpful friendly service, but the box on delivery was badly damaged in several areas and parts were missing and broken. The rear rack supplied was a bad design. It completely broke after just 4 miles of riding due to the main support holding all the weight were at 45 degree angles, causing further damage to the pannier box and ripping off the wiring connectors. Not fit for purpose or weight of larger battery. Photographic evidence was sent to the seller. After many emails and promises I am still waiting for a resolution, reply or solution 6 weeks later.

Efficient from start to finish, the bike is very good and I would recommend this company to anyone.

I had a problem with the battery and charger for my Life Cycle Mountain Sport. Although I needed to travel across to Southampton twice, the problem was resolved free of charge for which I am so grateful.

After carefully reading all the reviews and other research regarding Electric Bike World Ltd and LifeCycle Electric Bikes Ltd along with other makes of Electric Bikes I came to the conclusion that the LifeCycle range beat all the others hands down. I also took great interest in the way Mr Stuart Conway (The Boss) not only answered all the negative comments but the pleasant way in which the situation had been handled on every single occasion on his part and appeared to me that Mr Conway won hands down each time.
This was one of the best decisions I could have ever made as I contacted Mr Conway firstly by E-mail just to make some general inquiries – The reply came swiftly and politely with all the questions answered.
I then contacted Mr Conway again by mail but this time with a much deeper insight into my particular requirements and special needs regarding tough, longer distances I require doing on a Daily basis (50+ Miles)
Mr Conway then phoned me back almost immediately and I found him to be one of the most helpful, pleasant, honest and friendly persons I have ever dealt with.
He did not attempt to fob me off with anything that could not be suitable but came to an excellent conclusion that a Mountain Sport with an Extra Spare battery that I could carry in the rear pannier would suit all and more of my required difficult and longish journeys. (Over the PROPER “Hill and down Dales” covering Lancashire, Yorkshire and Cheshire!)
The bike arrived by Courier the Next Day and I set about putting it together
All the required Instruction sheets, Handbooks and Tools are supplied and was extremely easily assembled in no time encountering no problems whatsoever and with no special skills required.
I checked over the bike as advised before taking it for a spin and all was in order and ready to ride
I first ran it through into the lowest gear to test the bike without any electrics at first
I took it for a spin around the block and was amazed at how easy it was to pedal without the battery
I then turned her on to the lowest setting and lowest gear and ZOOM I was blown away by the sheer power – I was truly gobsmacked and never expected anything like this!
Over the coming Weeks in the harshest of November Headwinds, Gales and Hurricanes (Yes there was one lol) It has been truly effortless Climbing over the Pennines on most of the Lung Busting known rides around these parts – The Climb up Cragg Vale for instance was an absolute doddle averaging 15mph over the 5 ½ Miles (Cragg Vale is the longest continual gradient in England rising 968 ft in 5 ½ Miles)
I have not only been zooming round the mountains but also my Daily 52 mile commute
The road handling is incredibly safe and secure even carrying lots of weight on slippery leafy roads
The geometry is perfect regarding seat the bar and pedal positions resulting in a totally comfortable and pain free ride
I can honestly say riding this bike is pure pleasure and is Miles Beyond any of my expectations and never in my wildest dreams would I have imagine cycling could be like this
When ridden properly the Speed and Power is amazing (Tip: Use the gears like a Road Bike or Motor Bike)
I have since contacted Stuart regarding a little problem but it was put right on the spot! Faultless service!
These guys will go out of their way to help you with any problem or anything else that you can think of!

The Best Electric Bikes on the Planet? I would say so!

I bought the bike from the shop in Southampton, they were helpful and informative and I got a test ride before deciding.
The bike has been free of faults as far as the motor, battery and controls are concerned and is very quick!
The cycle parts however are not top quality, so far the front mudguard and front reflector have both fallen off, but were replaced without quibble by the shop, and the front forks have a fairly clunky action to them, however in fairness my route to work is very rough and pot holed.

Like some people when making such large purchases, I had issues with my electric bike. However these guys answered the phone, responded to emails and helped me resolve the issues. On one occasion they even sent an engineer up to London to assist.
I have absolutely no hesitation on recommending these guys!

i have a tricycle 11a h standard battery 12 miles distance. was not enough mileage. now i get 70 miles with one of your specialy made batteries slight pedalling ie 4/5th power ie Edinburgh.
not bad for an 86 year old archie mcquater, clockmaker.

You are sorry I have been having trouble with my bike. Not half as sorry as I am. I am best part of £4000 out of pocket. The cost of the bike and the carriage costs back and forth. And I still had to throw the bike away.

You are a good salesman Stuart but your customer service skills are sadly lacking.
I have looked at some of your replies to other reviews. It seems your usual defence is denial that there is a problem.
Do you think I would go to all the trouble cost and aggravation of returning the bike to you so many times if it was working perfectly?
The motor was the last thing you changed, apparently you had changed everything else on previous returns. When that did not work it was the last straw. In the skip it went.
I have since spoken to other electric bike people about it, they think it was probably the BMS controller in the battery. But too late now

If your bike work works well first time I am pleased for you

If you have problems with your bike do not expect any engineering backup from this company

Hello .bought your bike a mountain sport a few months ago. Love it .I have ditched the car, lost 2 stone and travel everywhere on it. Best thing I have ever bought. It's a cracker, fast and a hell of a range. Winskill to Morecambe via the back roads and over Shap summit nonstop and plenty of power left. I'm def going to buy the wife one
