Very bad and expensive mistake
I went to Electricbikeworld in Southampton. I discussed with them exactly what I wanted the bike for. I was going to export it to Portugal and needed it to climb steep hills with it. They recommended the Mountain sport 500. Any warranty issues could be dealt with over the phone or skype And they would send any necessary parts to me for me to fit (which I am quite capable and happy doing)
The bike would cut out for no apparent reason. I tried to speak to the engineer was promised call backs that never happened. Sent Emails made phone calls got nothing. finally managed to speak to the top man all he said was bring it back to Southampton and we will deal with it.
So no option I haul it all the way back to Southampton. Reply was we cant find anything wrong with it, we have replaced everything. It must be the way you are riding it.
To cut a long story short, after Hauling it back and forth from Portugal to Southampton 4 times, numerous arguments in the shop almost at fisticuffs. So 12 months old £2000 I could not waste any more time on it. It was just junk so I threw it in the skip.
I bought a Bafang kit and new bike from Ebay spent 4 hours putting it together. Brilliant machine. A million times better and a lot cheaper

My Electric Bike
I love my electric bike. Riding along the cyclepath by the water's edge is a great way to start the day. No traffic, no parking tickets, and no problems with the hill. (Overtaking stationary traffic is fun too!)
An electric bike is good for the environment, and good for me.
Many thanks
Kathy
my electric bike
Just what I needed so I can now keep riding with our friends. Goes faster than them up hills but have more difficulty keeping their pace on the flat. Was a little disappointed with the way a lot of parts are rusting quite quickly.

Once they have your money there is little customer care unless you are spending more
I found them expensive on most of the essential smaller items, and not particulary customer careing

Electric Bike World in Bedford Place, Southampton
Staff have always been helpful, polite and friendly.
Great buy
I just love my electric bike and reckon it is the best thing I have ever bought. I keep the battery topped up as son as I use it. It gets me around town and much further in no time at all. Buy one, you will love it.
great bike
Had this bike about a year now. To be honest, I have no complaints with it. Its has a hefty price tag but leaving that aside, the bike is a bit special.
My recommendation, if cost is not a factor, go for it,it wont disappoint.
3 Months on .......
We have had our bikes for just over 3 months now, and we have used them in the Scottish highlands, Scandinavia, Germany, Holland and will be using them later this year in the Pyrenees. We have had a fault free fantastic time with our bikes with only a minor issue with the saddle which Stuart replaced free of charge without any quibble. It is refreshing to receive a decent after sales service after an expensive purchase and I would recommend electric bike world to anyone thinking about purchasing a new ( or used ) electric mountain bike
Buying my first electric bike.
Staff at Electric Bike World when I phoned to enquire about an electric bike were most helpfull and invited me to try one which I did. The instructions for handling the bike and controls were clear and concise, the bike an Alpine Sport was purchased there and then. My first ride was twenty miles which confirmed how right I was to buy Life Cycle electric bike. I found that it levelled out the hills, just right for my advanced years.

Fantastic Service
Sale Went smooth with no trouble.
Good Price, Good Service people who made me feel confident in there products and service.
I told them what i wanted at the price point i could afford and they came up with a shop soiled fully serviced bike which was featured on the Gadget Show on TV ...The Ben Nevis challenge bike used on TV by Suzy Perry.
Puncture repair and service
Electricbike world give excellent advice. I bought my bike from them and have it serviced there. I was able to try the bike out on the road (at the back of their shop), prior to buying. There does appear to be a larger range of electric bikes in the showroom since I bought mine (3 years ago).
Whilst the bike was under guarantee, the battery stopped recharging fully and this was replaced without any fuss.
Their service department does seem busy, but this is usually a good sign that they are trusted. I took my bike in on Saturday and it was ready on Tuesday. Not too long to wait.
Great bike, great service.
the bike was delivered quickly, put together in 30 minutes and on the road.
After a year the controller failed. Electricbikeworld arranged for it to be picked up delivered to the workshop, fixed and returned free of any charge.
I use it most days and it's great on the hills around here. What is great is that when going to Stroud I can come back on full auto along the cycle track (4 miles ) and relax!
Very late
As it. Was two year or more since buying a bike form electric bike co I can't
Remember much I think it was hard getting parts so I haven't botherd with them .

My Experience of owning an Electricbikeworld bike
My Electic bke has been a tremendous boost to the quality and cost of travel as a commuter between Southampton to London. Though the cycling on an electric bike on its own could not return me to full fitness, it inducted me into a positive approach to physical exercise and helped me to re-integrate physical activity to my daily life. I haven't looked back since. Now I am much fitter, lighter and happier.
The support offered by Electricbikeworld has been exemplary and has served to help keep me on the road, healthy and generally happier.
Electric bikes are stonking!
I've had an electric bike now for 4+ years. One of my best ever buys.
Bought from Electric Bike World, who are friendly, efficient and - crucially - still going. When I bought there were I think 4 shops in Southampton that sold them. Now a quick Google tells me there is only Electric Bike world and one other. Tells you something.
Small bit of advice:
Get one with the 'full power' option, as these bikes are heavy (mine is 23+ kg) and so starting can be wobbly, particularly if on a slope. But switch on power mode and you're off. You can start pedalling later.
Excellent after sales service
I had a problem with spokes breaking. Stuart and his team went 'the extra mile' to sort the problem out for me. Their attention to detail made all the difference. The lifecycle compares extremely well compared to its competitors. I also own a Whisper and much prefer the lifecycle for reliability, speed, weight and size.
