Energy Pig Heating & Insulation Funding Reviews 

I answered to a leaflet drop by Consumer Rights and they organised for Gary to come out to do a home survey.
Gary was very friendly and put me at ease straight away.
He was very efficient and thorough and took his time with every little detail.
He had to drill some test holes to check insulation in my flat room and tidied up exceptionally well when he was finished.
He explained everything at each stage and told me why he was doing it.
He answered all my questions and was extremely knowledgeable.
If only all tradesmen to my home were as pleasant as he is the world would be a better place.

It was arranged through Consumer Rights for Gary Low to call at our home today to carry out a survey for the ECO 4 government funding programme. He arrived very promptly and immediately got down to the business in hand explaining everything he was doing. The extensive survey lasted over 2 hours and this was done in a very professional manner answering all the questions which we had. Gary is a very pleasant and courteous person which made the whole process easy to cope with.

After being given ridiculous quotes for cavity wall insulation we finally qualified for some help Gary Low from Energy pig arrived to survey, and told us that cavity wall insulation could not be fitted in our 1920's house due to the gap size. Gary explained it well and offered some help to us to get us over our issues and tips on ventilation etc. Thanks for the help and honesty Gary.

I want to leave an honest and balanced review but unfortunately the overall verdict is this is a company I’d strongly recommend avoiding. (I initially contacted them following a friend’s positive experience but mine was pretty awful.)

When I first phoned, I spoke to Neil and he was very helpful explaining the process and even guided us towards government funding available. Someone came fairly quickly after the phone call to view our house and take the details required for a quote. It was then a 6 week wait to get the quote which required a lot of phoning up and chasing. Once quotes were received, I submitted the forms for the grant and as soon as this was approved, EnergyPig were quick to book us in, even moving another client to work around our schedule, which was really appreciated. Unfortunately, this is where things really went down hill.

The workmen who arrived did not treat our home with respect. It was a wet day and they didn’t wipe their feet coming in, tracking the wet mud from doing our subfloor insulation first throughout our home to only then cover the carpets with plastic afterwards for doing the loft. They finished working early, about 3pm, saying they weren’t able to finish the job and would be in touch the following day to schedule another date to complete it ASAP. Once they’d left, we discovered muddy handprints up our stair walls and chips in the plaster as they must have knocked things they were carrying up despite it being a fairly large hall. Our bathroom was covered in muddy footprints and they’d clearly only half washed their hands because our towels were covered in black dirt. We even found the toilet unflushed. I have absolutely no problem with them using our toilet but expected a little common decency. We then went to inspect the job’s progress to discover they hadn’t removed the old insulation as per quote and were just laying new on top. I emailed with photos to complain about the state of our house and that the job wasn’t done as per quote. 2 weeks later, no reply so I sent another, bearing in mind we were also waiting on a “ASAP date” from them for completing the job. The eventual reply from Liz contained no apology and in fact was rather abrupt in stating that protective plastic was put down, ignoring the other issues raised or the fact this plastic was clearly ineffective. We then had to phone and phone to try get a date for them to complete the job to the point we were recording voice calls in case we had to go to an ombudsman for a resolution. In the end it was over 6 weeks before they came back to finish the job. A different team came to finish it and the joiner was much more communicative. Explained when things needed to be done slightly different to plan and we didn’t have the same mess as with the first time so no issues there. We then waited 8 weeks to get our invoices required for the grant. When they were finally received, they didn’t supply a post-installation EPC as required for the grants, and when I asked for it, I was provided with another unexpected invoice for it.

Overall, I wouldn’t recommend using this company at all, especially for such an expensive service. We felt there was a significant lack of communication and management of expectations. Their customer service is massively lacking, from long waits for quotes/invoices, being left for 6 weeks with an unfinished job, hidden charges and complete lack of apology with a reply that was basically gaslighting - avoid at all costs!

This morning, Gary Low, surveyor, arrived on time and did a thorough survey of my property. He was very friendly, polite, helpful and informative and reassured me over some concerns I had regarding the work to be done.
What more can you ask for?

Had Gary Low carry out a heating survey. He was very efficient and answered all our questions.

Josh & his team, Paul & Robert to name just two, installed my new boiler with exceptional care, very helpful & knowledgeable, nothing was too much trouble for them. I also had underfloor insulation carried out as part of the job. I can't say enough about these guys...so genuine and efficient. I'm absolutely delighted with the work, minimal disruption & super quick. They were all very professional, respectful & friendly and they went over and above with a few things including fixing my bathroom taps and resolving a pre existing issue with old pipes. I'm also grateful to Elizabeth & David R who were my main contacts during the process. Both very attentive and efficient with arranging prompt responses to a couple of minor quirks due to my old system, they made the whole process so smooth & stress free. I would highly recommend the Energy Pig team to anyone needing upgrades or new installs. Fantastic guys! Thank you!

Had a survey done by David H regarding having cavity wall insulation fitted .He called ahead to let us know he may be a little late but arrived pretty much on time. He was very friendly and knowledgeable and happily answered all our questions.
Job was completed yesterday by Alan and George. They also were happy to explain what they were doing and did a very neat and tidy job. They cleaned up after themselves and completed the job in a timely fashion.
We are happy with the work.

We had our annual Boiler service today which was done by Arash from Energy Pig. He is very thorough and takes great care in all he does and is also very polite and well mannered. A joy to have someone like him in your house.

Gary Low came out today, done a thorough survey throughout the house. Spent just over 2 hours, arrived on time. Explained absolutely everything and could answer any questions asked. Very helpful man and nothing seemed to be a problem.! Thank you!

Gary Low came out today to survey my house for cavity wall insulation and an epc. He was excellent. He was able to get into the house at half 3, but had to wait until half 4 until I arrived to let him into another part of the house as we hadn't left all the keys. He didn't complain at all and got on very professionally with the job. He was very clear about everything and explained what was going on at each point in the survey. I learned lots! I'd thoroughly recommend him. And considering he didn't get away until 7pm, I'd really like to show special gratitude to him for being so thorough and patient considering how late he'd have ended up getting home tonight. Had Gary low out doing a survey of my house today came a fair distance and was on time, Gary seemed very knowledgeable was very friendly down to earth guy took around two and half hours to complete explain things as he went along very professional this was for getting a grant to replace a solid fuel heating system as disability are making it a struggle now living in an upstairs flat energypig and Gary seemed very professional in what they do from initial phone call to Gary's survey 100%

David H visited today to do the cavity wall and loft survey for the loft insulation grant that i requested through Octopus Energy. He arrived ontime, even a few mins early, introduced himeself and had a quick check before he started the fuill survey. He expalined the process and all signatures needed (e.g. GDPR and Grant Submission evidence). The appointment was scheduled to take 1.5hrs and was a little less but all done and some great chat too.

VERY happy with the service from Energy Pig and very happy to have them back (assumining all goes through ok) to do the cavity wall job.

Engineer Arash very competent. Friendly, worked comfortably in my house, his expertise shone threw.

I.ve had Arash come every year for the last 5 years to carry out my annual service, I'm given an approximate time by the office but if he's running ahead or behind in time he lets me know so that I can make adjustments to my time to be at home when required.
A very pleasant and friendly chap and a credit to the company.

We had a visit yesterday from energypig when the reps reported to us that the company which had previously surveyed our home was no longer in business and that they (energypig) were taking over. The reps advised that a survey would require to be done and arranged for a Surveyor to call today at 10.00am.
Gary, the energypig Surveyor, was here promptly and explained what he intended to do. He was very knowledgeable about the work involved, extremely polite and respectful and explained to us what we should expect to happen.

Gary Low arrived at 2pm and left at 7pm,during this time he worked non stop on my energy survey.He explained every step of the process and was very thorough and diligent, was very friendly and had a pleasant manner.

I had David H from Energy Pig to come to our property this morning to assess our home for cavity wall insulation as part of the Government's scheme. Can’t fault him, he was very professional really friendly and chatty. He answered all my questions I had, very knowledgeable and his professionalism was so obvious and it made me feel at ease. Very helpful & genuine, top guy.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Energy Pig proper professional company.
