One year review - great product, dire aftercare

Edit: A very disappointing update.
Everything I stated in my original review still stands, this is an excellent PIV wall unit which does a great job. However, beware of aftercare if there are any issues.
In our case on attempting to change the filter as required annually for the 10 year warranty, it transpires that the unit is incorrectly installed so that the cover cannot be removed to access the filter.
Despite being provided with unequivocal concrete evidence of this, Envirovent have refused to send an engineer to correct their error unless I pay £150 upwards. So much for the 10 year warranty.
This is a 5 star product with 1 star customer care, Two stars overall because the measure of a company is how they deal with problems. Envirovent has been an epic fail in this regard and has completely changed my perception of the company.

Original review:
I've waited a year to review to see what happened during the worst of winter weather and so give a proper overview.
Mould was a real problem in our South Wales coastal property, compounded by a damp cellar area below the house.
Craig the surveyor was really helpful and not at all pushy for a sale. We went ahead with installation and Allan the engineer did an immaculate job.
A year later the difference is significant. Virtually no mould even in quite inaccessible areas that previously were badly affected. We did install a humidity tracking fan in the kitchen as well to complete the circuit, but combined it has proved a very effective solution to the problem.
It isn't a cheap option, but with the 10 year warranty it's good value. We are very happy with the service we received and the outcome from the installation.

Bathroom extractor

I had a cancelled appointment

I had a cancelled appointment, so I was home and happy to have my works already agreed by a good workman. He was curtious, was professional. And showed me how to work my remote extractor fan. Very happy and good job done.

The whole experience from start to…

The whole experience from start to finish was very efficient and easy. I got a surveyors appointment quickly and an appointment for installation. The installer Robbie was very professional and hard working. Couldn’t fault him or the whole experience at all.

I didn't like the fact the operative walked into my bathroom and washed his hands and used my towel to dry all without asking!

This company is doing everything right

This company is doing everything right! I have been a customer for many years and have just bought my second PIV unit from them. The first one worked for over 14 years without any issues! Their engineers are skilled and competent. Liam and Charlie who installed this latest unit are exceptionally efficient,knowledgeable and also very likeable! :)

A company that now cares about its…

A company that now cares about its customers.

My post-sales experience with Environvent was shaky. However, the new franchisee in the southwest has changed all that. I just had a warranty repair done at no cost to me, by a friendly and professional engineer, returning me to full satisfaction with Envirovent's products.

A well handled turn around. It is clear that Envirovent are values-led. I am now happy to once again recommend them to others.

I have lived in a housing assiciation…

I have lived in a housing assiciation santuary housing with electric heating . A two bed bunglow for ten years. They got envirovent to put in a piv unit in the hall way. The place is freezing it overventilates and will cost you a fortune to heat your property. These units are plasters to your damp problems. Fix you damp floors and if you have cavity wall insulation make sure its not damp and dropped in wall and you have no penetrating damp ie damaged plaster. Stormdry your brick work .Check your attic is not damp and has air flow also good insulation and eves are not blocked. Good windows and doors. Then get rid of these horrirble scammy products. If you need ventilation go for heat recovery units either whole house or single units. If you get a piv get one that can heat the air to higher than there 10 degrees they offer other companies can provide this. Or except high energy bills and itchy dry skin. Envirovent your piv units are terrible shame on you.

Took ages to come back to then inform…

Took ages to come back to then inform they couldn’t fit vents despite suggesting they could when they did a site visit.

Chased over 3 times and waited nearly 2 months post survey.
