I’ve got to be honest I wanted to get a credit score from Equifax because I wanted to see how much it differs from my Experian score. Went to the website and started the process name address etc, w... See more

Do be careful when contactacting this company, every adjustment/ query drops your score down. I recently reactivated my account after a number of years, to find a dead relative on my associate list despite having arranged for his removal 18 years ago. Equifax said that I had him put on the account - err,no! After requesting his removal, which they did, they then put a Notice of Correction re this stating that I cannot be considered trustworthy due to the adjustments! I asked for this to be removed and they dropped my score. When I queried this they dropped my score again. A total sham. Nothing else can affect this score as all apyments are up to date, so do be aware. you call the company and the person at the other end does not understand what you are querying. So do be careful when using this company.

They did not answer my query on why my credit score had gone down, just provided some bland generic response which did not address the issue raised. They seemed to indicate I was potentially a less attractive risk because I didn’t have enough credit agreements!?!! How clueless is that? Since they evidently don’t know what savings and income I have they are unable to make such a judgement. TOTALLY CLUELESS…. I need to look for another supplier.
You have been a huge disappointment….

Very frustrating to deal with. The way my address is formatted is in correct. Ive updated it myself on Experian but Equifax have had to raise it as a query with another team and set up an online help account. Still not corrected. Have been told now it's been corrected but not showing on the system until tomorrow when I need to phone back to get it corrected. This is making my data incorrect. Report says im not on voters roll and I am. I have a recent nearly 30k car loan which isnt showing and I can't get a mobile phone from Tesco as im failing their soft credit score despite my credit rating showing good on equifax. Very poor

I would give zero stars if i could, massive data breach by Equifax who decided that I and another person with the same first and last names but a different middle name, were one and the same. This meant that they shared all our financial info with the other person when they merged our credit reports.
We live hundreds of miles apart too.
To top if off, they wanted me to do all the work to fix their screw up. Utterly unacceptable.
Reported to the ICO
To respond to Equifax's reply - case ref is 260710-6436836 and i haven't heard anything for 10 days. So no, you are not doing anything about my complaint beyond "disassociating" the other person and myself. You have totally failed to address the data breach, involve the IOC etc.

I started a trial version of Equifax on Friday. It wasn't what I really wanted so I tried to cancel online. I was told I couldn't cancel online line at this time and asked me to use Customer Service. When I did this customer service noted I had tried to cancel online. Because of this...they raised a Case Number??! I have no idea why they would do this? But now rather than cancel I have to wait 5 days until the case is reviewed. There is NO case to review. This is inconvenient for me and pointless for you. Please simply cancel my free trial

In March 2026 my car leasing company Leasys reported that I had missed a months lease payment. This was incorrect all my payments were up to date and paid on time for the 4 years of the car lease.
I had proof this was a mistake. But a marker was put on my credit reference by the FCA and my credit score plummeted, the first time ever. They have also refused to help me put this right, despite seeing proof that the accusation was false.
Eventually Leasys agreed they had made a mistake but still to this day that marker is on all credit agencies in my name and despite being told it was going to be sorted it has not? Many, many emails and messages have been sent. So following a meeting with my solicitor I have decided to take Equifax and the car leasing company to court. I am assured that with all the evidence it is a no brainer. Unfortunately it has negatively effected my health over the 4 months.
So just a warning this company do not care about the customers wellbeing, ‘banging your head against a brick wall’ springs to mind and believe me it hurts!

I was denied a phone contract due to Equifax failing to register that I am on the Electoral Register (I have documentation from the local council as well as my Experian account confirming this). This information has been forwarded to Equifax and I am still waiting for them to fix this. Their customer service was reasonably helpful explaining the issue but at the end of the day, they've denied service based on easily verifiable faulty data. I'm not impressed.

Somebody incorrectly used my name against an address I have never been to or have any knowledge which has affected my lifelong unblemished and perfect credit score. As a result it has affected my ability to remortgage. Something is wrong with the system as even when the error by a third party has been corrected and it has been acknowledged that this has nothing to do with me… it remains to are t my credit score!

Very difficult to log corrections and see messages all from “no-reply “ emails
If British Gas had not robbed me I would not have bothered with Equifax

Tried to log a complaint for incorrect information being held.
First they responded saying call us or give a number for us to call you on, which I refused as I wanted their response in writing.
Their written response then followed days later saying they could see nothing wrong (I had already supplied all the relevant evidence and information in the complaint), and that I should contact the relevant company concerned (already done that they told me to contact Equifax where they got the information from).
So I'm in a pointless cycle that is going nowhere with neither company willing to take ownership.
The issue that Equifax have on my file is not seen as an issue by either Experian or Trans-Union.
Equifax also refuse to accept this, despite me providing them with copies of my reports from both companies that clearly show that neither of them has any issues on my credit report.
My Equifax rating is much lower than my Experian and Trans-Union ratings.
I would say avoid at all costs but unfortunately you have no choice in the matter, you are literally at their mercy and there's very little you can do about it because they don't even take your complaints seriously.
A few days after my complaint with Equifax was marked by them as "resolved" they then took 70 points off my score which then pushed me down a level.

Poorly designed experience. They seem to think free coffee etc will make up for a fundamentally weak core value proposition.

A comprehensive look into your credit history well worth paying for a subscription even only for a short period to gain a good personal insight to your fiances. Only grumble would be it seems app is underdeveloped as if you wish to view credit file from app it redirects you to website and you have to go through log in process again. A minor gripe but begs the question why can't it be completely integrated especially as you are encouraged to download and view via app, therefore that's why I knocked the review point down from 5 to 4 stars
