Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Most reviewers were unhappy with their experience overall. Many people were dissatisfied with the pricing, finding it too high for the service received, especially for one-way tickets or when changes to their class were made without refunds. Customers also frequently reported issues with customer service, describing it as unpleasant, unhelpful, and difficult to reach, with some experiencing long queues and unsupportive responses to serious problems like name corrections or baggage issues. Some people were dissatisfied with the staff, citing rudeness, unresponsiveness, and a lack of service mind, particularly regarding drink service and addressing in-flight issues. Conversely, a small portion of people felt satisfied with the staff, praising their friendliness, courtesy, and attentiveness, especially on certain routes or in business class. The quality of the in-flight experience was also a point of contention, with some finding the entertainment system shocking, the food poor, and the seating cramped, while others enjoyed the meals, comfortable seats, and well-maintained planes.

Won’t fly them EVA’ AGAIN!!

Flew EVA Flight BR067 (4 Dec 2024) from Bangkok to London. Flight attendants Aree P. and C. Chung were both VERY RUDE!!!! They talk very passive-aggressively and were standoffish and unhelpful. The flight was also thoroughly uncomfortable and worth forgetting about.

I recently traveled with Eva Air

I recently traveled with Eva Air, and it was a mistake I won’t make again. Upon collecting my luggage, I discovered a large dent in my suitcase that had compromised its structural integrity (the second airline that had done this to my second suitcase). The damage left the case unusable for onward travel, as it is now liable to crack under the slightest pressure.

What’s worse is the complete lack of accountability or proper customer service from the airline. And the baggage employees from Dnata were rude and terrible it seemed they were getting a commission to try to persuade you you couldn't get a report and nothing could be done- (legally untrue). If you value your belongings and want to avoid the hassle of dealing with careless handling, I strongly advise steering clear of Eva Air. This experience has left me extremely disappointed, and I won’t be flying with them again.

Protect your belongings—choose another airline.

HORRIBLE SERVICE!!

Bought a ticket from RDU to TPE connected through SEA from EVA's website. The direct flight (Alaska Airlines) from RDU to SEA was issued from EVA's website and delayed for almost two hours. Thus, I missed the flight to TPE. The service is HORRIBLE. There is no one at the counter to deal with the issue. Alaska said EVA departed earlier and could wait for the transferring customers. EVA said that's not their fault. They just kicked the ball to each other. Alaska assigned me a ridiculous route back to TPE the following day. I called EVA customer support and they said they can't help even though they have plenty of empty seats on the next day's flight from SEA to TPE. EVA has no official reps at the airports. Please stay away from them!!!

Don't be a single traveler in Business

It's OK as long as you're not a single traveler in Business Class. Then they move you all over the cabin to pacify the complaining rich people. Pathetic class society nonsense in this day and age.

Why Should I responsible for ... / Don't touch Me!

In mid November, 2024, my husband and I were going on a cruise ship trip in Indonesia and Australia. My cruise company arranged some of our flights by taking EVA (BR25 & BR255) all the way from SEA through TPE to DPS. I was excited at the beginning because I heard friends' positive comments on EVA; however, when we just entered the cabin, very uncomfortable experiences started encountering: because we are senior and short, so my husband had a problem when trying to put his carry-on luggage into overhead compartment, the flight attendant stood near by saw that but did not give him hands for a help, instead she just vocally instructed him doing this doing that, so my husband joked back and said something like "So if my luggage falling out from the compartment, you're going to be responsible for, right?". The flight attendant immediately replied "Why should I be responsible for? ..." Her voice and tone was rude in Chinese. Another incident came on the way to Bali when the attendant started serving drinks and water, what we saw was the attendants serving all the passengers surrounding us, and skipping us (don't know if it was discrimination issue). We were very thirsty at time, so when the attendants were moving away, my husband immediately, naturally responded and gently touched one attendant's arm to remind her we were forgot being served. Unbelievably, the attendant without checking the circumstances responded back to him by yelling "Don't touch me!" What a hell, this is the rudest response we have ever encountered on the flights. Another incident came earlier on the way to TPE, when the attendants collected the trash after meals service, one of them standing by me was handling trash chaos, she kept dropping trash on the floor, so when she tried to move backwards, I immediately notified her by touching her arm (because her eyesight was looking away from me); she immediately yelled "Don't touch me!" I was very shocked but did not said anything, I just used my finger pointed to the floor hardly! I think no matter how the passenger did, a flight attendant yelling was a very rude behavior. When I looked back all the circumstance, yes, it was not my business caring about how stupid those attendants doing their jobs, but I did care the safety of myself and other passengers - I didn't want myself neither did I want anyone else trapped over the trash the attendants dropped on the floor and resulted in serious hurt. Was I wrong doing this? I guess I should have fought back to her rude behavior. What I want to say to EVA is under those circumstance, it is very nature by gently touching attendant's arm or back to get her attention as long as it is for a good reason. The attendants didn't need yell "Don't touch me!" immediately back to the passengers if they did not intend to take advantage of them like harass. We didn't touch them on the inappropriate spots, like butt or chest or face of their bodies. What a hell did they need to yell "Don't touch me!" ? That sounds something horrible were happening.

Overall, I feel EVA air lines its aircrafts a bit old, foods were OK, but the flight attendants' manner are bad/services not professional, with poor English conversation skills, . . . Their faces had no smile. They thinks they are "Miss (小姐) and Mister(少爺) of airline", not "attendants". They don't have good work ethic concepts! Most of them are short, slim and not strong enough to help passengers loading carry on lugages when needs. If flight attendants want to be "Miss (小姐) and Mister(少爺)", they should stay home let their families taking care of them. While Taiwanese try to reach out the world, if such typical airline companies can't have good services for the world, who're going to stand by their side? "You can't "對接世界", period." The onboard announcements were not clearly heard, the volume of voice was too low, especially female attendant's voice, sounded like they were too shy to speak out or lack of communication skills.

There is no priority boarding for EVA…

There is no priority boarding for EVA Air’s Premium Economy. Even with the “fancy” name, the boarding process was still basic and I found myself boarding in Zone 4.

The zones range from 1 to 5. Zone 1 is the first to board, and then, there's me in Zone 4 ( premium economy and silver member for 20 years. Economy was in Zone 2,3 and 5

I was just confused as to why EVA Air Premium Economy didn’t have priority boarding like China Airlines.Nico Schmidt Silver member 2300619790

I have flown about 18 with EVA within…

I have flown about 18 with EVA within the last 4 years and have another 4 one way flights with them again this December. Based on my experience with EVA Air, they have always been consistent with their service. They are typically on time or sometimes arrive early. The food is decent and I love the fact that they use metal utensils. The seats are very comfy as well. I have only tried economy and premium economy, but I can't complain. They have a lot of leg room unlike other carriers. The FAs are relatively friendly as well and I have not had issues with their service. The only caveat is if you have a connecting flight, you'll go through another screening in Taiwan, which can be a little annoying due to the fact that you literally just got out of the airplane, but you could also see this as a great extra precaution. Although I have flown with them several times, my only gripe is that not all miles were accounted for even for those that I explicitly asked their rep to kindly ensure my miles number is listed. I know I'm still in the green tier, but I do hope to reach gold or diamond in the near future seeing that their prices are very competitive.

Think twice before your travel agent books you with Eva Air

Took a flight to Bangkok 12 days ago , never used Eva air before. We were expecting a modern plane .unfortunately the triple seven was old the seats are not comfortable.entertainment was rubbish food is not fit for consumption all though the staff were pretty friendly on the way back decided to get an upgrade at the airport. I nearly fell over they wanted 2.5 grand for the two of us to go to premium. Had to sit it for 13/14 hours
Certainly will not use this airline again

Absolute worst airline to deal with

Absolute worst airline to deal with. Not contactable in the US. Calls go to voicemail have NEVER got a call back. Emails are also NEVER responded to. Absolutely inscrutable website when trying to book award travel. Booked a flight, they put us in the wrong class, cancelled immediately, the hoops needed to jump through are virtually insurmountable to get a refund & miles released would crush any soul. Avoid at all costs.

Terrible airline on customer service for reservation issue for Seattle location.

Think twice about using EVA air!

Eva airlines has really gone downhill. I just took a flight from tpe to sea and the service was terrible. I requested an aisle seat when I got on the plane because I needed easy access to the toilet and got a snotty remark from one of the air hostesses that the flight was booked and I'd need to negotiate it myself. They don't care about their passengers it was obvious. Beyond that they don't like to give you water when I request it they only fill the cup about 1/3? Meanwhile staff enjoys their time with little regard to customers. Miserable experience. Be careful about using this airline.

Flight cancellation without notifying customer

We had a very bad experience with EVA Air. In March, we booked a flight from Hangzhou, China to Taipei, Taiwan, scheduled for 7/1/2024, directly through the EVA Air official website. Unfortunately, EVA Air canceled the flight without notifying us. When we contacted customer service about the issue, they insisted they had sent us an email, even after we showed them our email history as evidence to the contrary. This unexpected cancellation threw our travel plans into chaos. We had to spend much more money to book a new flight, cancel hotels, and rearrange our travel plans. What a mess, and they refused to compensate us for our loss.

PUBLISHING FAKE AVAILIBILITY

1 STAR. publishing fake flights that are not available. Not mentioning ''waitlist'' on the Star Alliance redemption program. They want you to transfer points first, and then you will find out that the flight is not available and you are waitlisted. Then, you can't transfer the points back. Avoid at any case these scammers!

Customer Support Unreachable

First time my kids flew and EVA is the final craft to destination. The kids don't have any clothes and all but the checked-in baggage were misplaced and delivered after almost 2 days. Of course, the kids will have to buy things to use. Then one of the baggage is damaged. Cebu EVA emails and numbers are either not working or cannot be reached. Online has no options to submit the issues. the damaged baggage report not accepting the ticket number in the boarding pass. It is like dealing with a queen or king. I tried EVA country of origin even the connecting countries, I am pointed to Cebu EVA in the Philippines which cannot be reached!
