Based on our experience, I would not recommend this dealership.
The vehicle was sold to a family member with an MOT and service plan. When the MOT became due, there was confusion over what was covered, which made the process more difficult than expected.
We were told the car had failed its MOT and were advised that the dual-mass flywheel needed replacing. We were also advised to replace the clutch at the same time, despite not being told there was a specific fault with the clutch.
As we wanted a second opinion, we took the car to another garage. They carried out an MOT, and the vehicle passed without any issues being identified. This difference in outcome left us with concerns and a lack of confidence.
Overall, we were disappointed with the experience and the way our concerns were handled. This review reflects our personal experience.

Also emailed the email below which evens halshaw left 3 weeks ago. And no reply or resolution to my questions to them.

I bought a car from Neil who was very helpful and professional. Neil was a very polite salesman and very informational and he also had great banter. Great car at a great price. Would definalty recommend to anyone. Thank you Neil.

I have just been and bought my next car a MG from Saj, I am overall thrilled with my experience from start to finish. Ensured the new car was in excellent condition and perfect working order, the car needed a new wing fitting which took around a week in total from start to finish, I was kept informed during every step. Customer service excellent throughout. Highly recommended buying a vehicle from this garage and Saj! Very pleased customers and will be back in the future to buy the next car!

FORD Evans Halshaw. Middlesbrough cargo fleet lane - branch new to Ford. The service desk was great. Answered a Ford Ranger full service query 5 days before Lookers across the road. Member of staff Olivia was Professional, polite and knowledgeable. Retained ownership throughout and offered quick response to all queries. Ensured the vehicle was booked in and complete on time promised. Ensured also additional requests to workshop were completed. Pleased with the service and hopefully the Ford service plan promised will be delivered. If you've a Ford pick up but not a great mechanic, so far, the place seems good. The staff member also seemed to be enjoying their job, often a good sign things work well.

All my questions were answered by the team.

Service and mot completed on time. Olivia kept me Informed throughout as I waited for work to be completed. I was offered a hot drink which is appreciated.

This is the third time we have bought a car from the Middlesbrough branch and the third time buying a Qashqai. As always our experience has been a positive one and would definitely go back again in the future
Umair Nazir was our sales rep and from start to finish was very professional and patient and attentive to our requirements. He made the whole process very straightforward and stress free!!

Avoid! Aftercare is awful. Once you pay for the vehicle and it’s collected they aren’t interested at all. I would purchase from a different dealership if you want to have a good experience. Alex & Kevin are both not interested in resolving customer issues just getting the deal.

Have had no problems with the service all the times that my car has been in for service and repair.

Arrived a little after 4 this afternoon after having visited the Vauxhall Evans Halshaw over the road, to find it completely closed. We specifically had left visiting this garage till last, as the opening hours on their website, google, etc. all said that it was open till 5pm. Arrived and the entire site was closed. Opening hours on one door were covered by a massive Nissan sign, but the other door confirmed that the branch should indeed be open till 5pm. There was no sign on any of the glass doors or walls to indicate that there was any reason for them having left early or having been unable to open.

Across the road, at the Vauxhall branch, there were at least 5 sales staff and we were helped immediately. If one branch can't open and you have ample staff at the other, quite literally the other side of the road, why not open both?

I saw a beautiful Lexus UX electric advertised on Autotrader. I submitted an online enquiry to ask a few questions with regards to the vehicle and within a few minutes I had response. I was lucky to receive communication with Umair Nazir, who was so patient with all my queries. As we live in Surrey, we could not attend the Middlesbrough dealership to test drive the car or take a look at it, but Umair suggested we do a video call and he walked me around the car to view it and to ask any questions. We decided it was the car for us! The whole process could not have been made easier! Umair organised for a delivery of the vehicle to our home, the collection of our car as part exchange and the whole process was done and dusted with our beautiful Lexus safely on our driveway within a week!! The car is exactly as described and we are delighted with it! Highly recommend Evans Halshaw Middlesbrough!!

I had purchased a skoda octavia in march 2025 and was able to drive it only after a month as I had company car.

After returning my company car and started driving skoda, I realised that there is severe noise from shock absorber. When I drive on uneven/bumpy road and humps, I hear a cracking noise from shocks. When I purchased the car, they said that they have serviced the car and gave me invoice of what had been done on the car, one of the them was rear wiper blade changed. From the time i started using the car to till date, the rear wiper doesn't work. And to my surprise, now the disc dust shield is broken. When I drive 30+ mph, it makes huge sound of the shield.

Buying experience : No mats in car. I had seen for the first time that a dealer is selling car without mats. I had to purchase them separately.

Fuel level in the car was almost empty. It was very close to the empty sign. I was scared whether the car can go to the nearest fuel station. They didn't even have courtesy to fill £10 worth of fuel.

I spotted a car on Autotrader that I was interested in so made enquiries with a question I had via the website.

I got a very friendly quick response and arranged an appointment to view and for test drive for 28th at 2pm with the person on the phone who said they wouldn't be there but to ask for a colleague.

I was travelling up to the dealers when I received a call asking if I had put a reservation in which I hadn't as I hadn't been asked to or advised to and was told that someone else had put in an online reservation.

The upshot is that although I had made enquiries first was travelling to view the car with all intentions of buying the car that day my money is not good enough for Evans Halshaw as the person who would be going to view the car a day later now had priority.

I remember a time when an appointment was an appointment and first come first served however that no longer seems to apply!!!!

I would have had less of an issue had I not already been halfway to the area to view the car at my expense and had I been advised to reserve online and had chosen not to.

The really annoying thing is that many years ago Evans Halshaw in Hull a dealership that no longer exists messed me about in the showroom for 2 hours whilst a salesman dealt with someone else despite knowing I was on my way (my review of that day may still be online). I stupidly gave Evans Halshaw a second chance today given that it was 8 years ago. They won't get a third!

I am giving 2 stars rather than 1 for my experience only really because the salesman who had to ring and tell me that my money was no longer good enough was pleasant enough.

Just have to say outstanding curtesy and professional service from Alex Latham works at Evans Halshaw Middlesbrough, whilst dealing with car enquiries. Wife had mobility issues getting in and out of vehicle.He did that little bit extra that doesn't sometimes get noticed.Very grateful.

Paid over £300 for a 2 year warranty and because they refused to fix anything on my car I've now paid over £1000 for repairs in the just 2 years I've had it. They didn't even bother to look at the car

I am extremely frustrated with the ongoing issue surrounding the cancellation of my Premium Guarantee, which was purchased due to the subpar quality of the product and the absence of proper documentation/terms and conditions/vehicle details/ in my name. Despite numerous calls, enquiries, and written complaints to the customer care, finance company and Evans Halshaw - Middlesbrough Nissan Authorised Repairer & Used Car Centre, no meaningful action has been taken to resolve the issue till date.The Used Car Sales Team Leader assured me that the refund and cancellation would be processed promptly, yet nearly 15 days have passed with no progress from 18/03/2025. The last response I received was six days ago,there after i have been trying to contact them,unsuccesful and this delay is entirely unacceptable.The initial issue was raised on March 18, 2025, and I am appalled by the lack of urgency or professionalism displayed by this dealership. The ongoing failure to address this matter has severely damaged my trust in their ability to handle future transactions.I strongly advise potential customers to exercise extreme caution when dealing with this dealership. It is clear that they do not prioritize customer satisfaction or timely resolution of issues. it will be forced to escalate my complaint to the ombudsman or Citizens advice customer complaint agencies further.

very helpful staff did a great job on the car

The sales person, Aaron Wedlake was very polite, helpful, informative and personable.

The exchange between my old car and new car (used vehicle) was prompt and as expected.

The car could have been prepared better, it was quite 'grubby' inside, together with no water in the washers or radiator fluid and there was a fault with the TPS (tyre pressure reader).

I would have expected a used vehicle to be in acceptable condition, and not have to be returned to the garage within less than 24 of buying due to an issue with the TPS. The issue has been dealt with, but despite this, it is disappointing that it had to be returned to the garage.

I would have imagined there would have been appropriate pre delivery/collection checks, including things such as washer water, radiator fluid and the TPS.

The car is exactly what I was looking for, and once the issue above had been sorted (most were sorted by my husband and I), it was perfect.
