Formula One Autocentres - Cowley Reviews 

I have used the Cowley branch of Formula One Autocentres a number of times now and have always been pleased by their efficient, professional, and friendly service. The online booking is easy and convenient, and allows selection from the services they offer. I have found the staff very accommodating and I was able to add a suspension check to my booked services during the appointment. They were also happy to offer additional advice - about my car of course -which I found very useful. I shopped around for tyres for my Prius and found those available from Formula One very competetive. I am glad I chose the Cowley branch because the team there are very customer oriented, and I am always happy with the quality of their work. I will be using them again and am happy to recommend them to all.

They were very proffesional and helpful.
Even the Newbie Apprentice was very enthusiastic about his job and seemed to care about his customers.
Will be taking my car there for MOT and Service when next due, its all about Trust and building upon it.

Took my car to get exhaust price, they told me they would beat any previous quote is had, when I took it in they called me and said it needed a new catalytic converter and 2 shock absorbers and would be £1500

I took it to my local garage and they did the exhaust for £150

The Cowley branch is my preferred place for MOTs (a seasoned inspector), tyres, alignment, etc. Very knowledgeable staff, excellent communication - and terrific value for money.

So happy to have found this garage, professional and on ball with their work!

I called at my local FI Autocentres branch in Cowley to arrange for 4 new tyres to be fitted to a recently acquired wheelchair adapted vehicle for my wife who has MS. An appointment was made for 5 days later and the branch manager wrote down my details and phone number. I had bought tyres here before so assume my details were on record. I subsequently spoke to the Brach Manager to confirm the time of appointment. The local centre is 9 miles from my home and i arrived at the pre arranged time. I was told they were" too busy" to carry out the job and could only suggest that i rebook. The tyres were to cost £600 and when I complained at my treatment I was told to" try elsewhere". Advice which I have followed. When I asked why I had not been rung to advise of the cancellation I was told by the Manager that he had "lost my phone number". Unbelievable.
I lodged a formal complaint with F1's Customer Services and receive a call from an Area Manager. He offered me free tracking, which I neither want nor need, but refused to make a modest ex gratia payment to cover my time, 2 hours wasted, my inconvenience or my mileage. Appaling customer service. There are better places to buy tyres.

My car came a few weeks ago for a service and had many issues with it.

I was treated with respect, and kindly talked through the issues, with the gentleman speaking slowly and clearly to help me understand l, which I really did appreciate.

The really were true experts on their advice and sorted the best possible deal which suited around me and my affordability.

I often dread the thought of taking my car to any garages, but this experience taught me to put my respect into these professionals and I would highly recommend my family and friends for the foreseeable future.

Had 2 rear tyres fitted at the Oxford Formula One. On next drive noticed a judder, phoned and explained was told to come in when I could and they will look at it I asked if I needed a slot was told no anytime, a pain but not a disaster however, went today (2 members of staff one car being worked on in the centre) was told they could not do it or I could leave the car for three hours (the place has nothing around it and it is about half hr drive each way from my home). I said that I could not do that as I had to get back to work and had been told to bring it in any time. was angrily told they were they only options he said he refused to discuss it and walked out of the reception refusing to talk to me. Called customer services and was told that they could not do anything they could only take my number and complaints were looked at in three working days refusing to help at all. So I am left with a car that can't be driven far when I am meant to going away this weekend. Appalling service

What a nightmare this has been. I had to change one of the track rod ends and they booked me an appointment, however, the part was not there. Then I booked 1 more appointment, I went there and again the same. So, they booked me a third appointment and again the same! I had to go pick the part myself as they were extremely slow. I also asked them to change the refrigerant, however it appears that they did not as the refrigerant light came up the next day and I had to pay again someone else to top it up. Therefore, they charged for a service that they did not provide. Unfortunately, I did not check the refrigerant after I received the car so I do not have proof. On top of that the reception is extremely rude and they were always late to open the garage in the morning! They may seem cheaper but never again. This experience was from Oxford-Cowley.

I went to Formula One with a punctured tyre and they managed to get me in and repair the puncture within a couple of hours. Very professional and polite team who always try and help me out whenever I have been there. Thank you.

Writing a review for the amazing service I received at the F1 Autocentre in Cowley, Oxford. I have been twice before for an MOT and full service for my Seat and always been very impressed by the customer service.
Having noticed a new rattle in the car when accelerating, took the car along with a heavy heart expecting the sort of problem that could ruin Xmas! As always, customer service was excellent. Quickly took car out for spin and diagnosed the issue. Once finished, then didn’t charge me as was a simple issue that they could sort quickly. Honestly so impressed with them again. Really can’t recommend enough. If you are in Oxford and need a good, decent and trustworthy garage to have your car looked at, you are in fantastic hands with the team there.

I had a tyre that kept running flat and needed looking at. Called Formula One Autocentres in Cowley and they booked me in for a tyre check on the spot. They looked at the tyre as soon as I got there and found it had a faulty valve, which they replaced for free. Checked all my other tyres out too. Efficient, quick, friendly service - would highly recommend.

I booked my car for MOT and Service and it failed on headlamp levelling device, rear bumper, CO2 emissions and damage to the front registration plate. I agreed to have the failing items fixed on a quoted fee (in addition to MOT and service fees paid on reservation). Got a call 2 days later to add ~ £100 to fix a rear registration led light (which I thought was a “little” on the high side). Due to my circumstance at the time, I begrudgingly agreed, with all of this under the impression that it’s towards fixing the car.
Little did I know on the day of collection that the car was still failing MOT on emissions. I do understand that not all centres are equipped to fix everything, however, the car had also developed an unfamiliar 'crackling sound from the engine' which was not there when I left it. I had it re-checked at a different place with the intention to have it fixed, and they fixed emissions and the 'crackling sound' in no time. However, the same headlamp which I had it fixed at Formula One Autocentres was aiming too high and consequently failed the second MOT. I may want to add that the failed headlamp was a new replacement and still failed due to improper beam alignment.
Anyways, I have since got the car fixed and serviced again (I was not happy with the quality of work on assessment with a second opinion concurring it).

I feel like I wasted time and money at Formula One Autocentres as teething issues that took days to fix only took a day to fix at a different place, and that I had to pay for some of the services twice.

On the positive side, at least they replaced the damaged front registration plate and replaced the rear led light at a cost of an arm and a leg.

Tyre punctured by nail the day before driving to Europe by car. The lads at Cowley fixed the hole in a jiffy, on a Sunday, without an appointment. Great service. Thanks, lads.
