Poor customer service
Booked an MOT for today at 11. I pitched up and was told that the MOT person quit the day before and that I can go to another branch (quite out of the way). No one phoned me in the morning to let me know- it was very poorly handled- just a ‘that’s what it is’ blasé response. I usually get great service but was very disappointed with this poor level handling and waste of my time.

I booked a MOT at Hertford Autocentre. I turned up 10 minutes before the appointment time and waited 10 minutes for the man on reception to finish serving another customer and talking on the phone. After waiting I was then told that they could not undertake my MOT as their ramp was broken. They did not try and contact me beforehand but instead let me drive 20 mins to the appointment without apology that they had to cancel on the spot. I have used Hertford autocentre numerous times in the past and I won’t be returning
DISGUSTING TREATMENT
I left a negative review a couple of days ago re. the appalling service I received at your Hertford branch. I received a reply to my review and it said to contact customer care on a number or an email address. I've tried these. Customer care rings for 6 minutes with random we are busy etc messsages and then cuts off to an answer phone with a message that they will call you back ASAP. I have left 3 messages, 2 yesterday, 1 today and still no one replies. Automated reply to my email. I'm still without a car due to a puncture, I'm £259 out of pocket as I paid for the tyres before my appointment and I cannot get anyone to talk to me. Hopefully someone from your team will read this and get in touch please.....

The team were brilliant, I called in the morning and they were able to book me in for the last appointment of the day. They were friendly, fast and efficient and good value for money. I have always used them and they always help me out! I highly recommend them!

Took my car in for a service
Took my car in for a service. Paid for the service up front. I was phoned and told initially cost was £1229. They didn't tell me that this was on top of the £164 I had already paid. When I questioned the cost, hep presto, they said not necessary right now to change the frobt pads and discs and the bill drops to £879. They said the battery was at 42% so I trusted them and agreed to change it. My car has done over 100000 miles but they chose to get a battery costing £247. I checked online and one could have been sourced for half that price. Please be aware that this company - they don't care about you. They don't care if you are tight for money. They will fleece you for every penny they can get off you whether it be expensive parts where they get a higher cut of the profit or work that isn't strictly necessary. Best not to use these places and find an honest mechanic or garage. I will never go back and I'm afraid that this is the only language these cowboys will understand.

Change of Management gone wrong
I have been taking three cars to this business in Hertford for the last 8 years.
Company is under new management and has been for the last few months. Took my car for a full service a week after the change. Was provided with a report saying that everything was good with the car including all tyres.
A few days later I had a slow puncture develop so took it in for a new tyre only to be told that all my tyres were Bald and needed replacing. This knocked my confidence in the business a bit but I had already booked an MOT for my other car at a good price.
Turned up at 8.32am for an 8.30 booking which I apologised for only to be told. 'you've missed your slot. We work on 45 minute slots now, not an hour'. I thought he and the two other employees standing their having a chat with each other were joking.
'it's on the terms and conditions on the website.'
Next appointment is Christmas eve and I am away. In a town with Halford and kwikfit down the road and plenty of independents it's bold to be rude to customers.
I have been using Formula one for 8 years across three vehicles and recommended them to many people. Never again. I was on a first name basis with staff under the old regime who were very polite. Shame that a Hertfordshire based business is that rude to locals. I'll take my chances with one of the independent garages from now on. I've requested a refund which I was. Told would happen on Monday. I will have to chase them for that if my experience today is anything to go by.

Phoned them late morning on Sunday,asking for appointment fitted me in mid afternoon same day. Fixed my slow puncture within 30 minutes. Fast and efficient service.
Excellent service at short notice
Brake light fault
Brake light fault appeared on the dash late yesterday. Called Formula One Hertford just before closing time and Michael said to drop the car off in the morning.
Despite having a full garage, they were quick to resolve the issue - no fuss, no ego.
Within 16 hours of noticing the fault, all sorted.
Car was left in a location that made it easy to drive off with no stress 😎
Customer Service
Went there a month or so ago to buy a rear light bulb. They found one in a box, fitted it and then didn't charge me, amazing service. Went back today to have a new battery and another rear light fitted and service was equally as good, they had to invoice me this time though, Ha ha!! Very nice people to deal with.
