Overcharged and lied to!
Upon my visit to F1 Autocentres I feel I had been massively overcharged and lied to. I am a young woman with little to no experience with cars so I needed a place I could trust. I thought this would be the place, but clearly not.
I went to the Nottingham branch to get my brakes done. I asked about the breakdown of the price as it seemed very expensive (£300 ish) and me, knowing nothing about cars, wanted to understand more so I knew for future. I felt the mechanic was a little defensive and reluctantly said the breakdown. He then justified it with the fact F1 Autocentres use the "best quality" parts.
I also then asked about the price guarantee as I felt I would be able to get a quote for quite a bit cheaper than that. In the end, after lots of issues when submitting the price guarantee, I finally got a refund of about £130 based on a quote that Halfords had given me. When gaining this quote from Halfords, they told me the supposedly "best quality" parts that had been used, aren't actually best quality and Halfords actually do not use these because of how POOR quality they are. I did a little more research and found a lot of negative reviews about the parts that were used in my car. So, for some reason I was lied to, I assume to justify the price which he majorly overcharged me on!
Thankfully I got a refund via the price guarantee but ultimately I feel that F1 Autocentres lied and deceived me in order to just take my money. I had also been here 2 other times prior to this incident and now I know I would have been majorly overcharged for the work I had done on these occasions also. Knowing I have spent over the odds for work I could have got cheaper elsewhere, really annoys me.
You can rest assured that if you come here, you will get overcharged and lied to. If you don't know much about cars, they will take advantage of you. Avoid at all costs.
