Before we decided to do a Reverse Mortgage we did lot of research. Once we felt comfortable enough to proceed we then started looking into companies. Finance of America Reverse impressed us immediately, especially Senior Reverse Mortgage Consultant, Scott Zmikly. He is extremely knowledgeable, patient, responsive, etc., and we always felt that he was acting with our best interests in mind, right through closing. We strongly, and without hesitation, recommend Finance of America Reverse!

Communication was only issue
I realize that they market was quite busy, but every step took a week or more, it was frustrating. Better communication would have relieved some of the frustration.
Over all, though, everything ended up well, we're happy we did it.
The person we dealt with directly wa able to answer all of our questions, and guide us through.

All aspects of process were carefully guided by my primary contact. However the process was very slow from fast start to snail finish. Paperwork and consultations were rgular and timely but aprasials were expensive and slow to get. Reverse financing was frustratingly slow taking six months to finish.

Working with Scott Zmikly Who must have a lot of understanding and patience; we decided to go with the reverse mortgage. The only reason I gave you 4 stars is because was not informed that we could not access our LOC for approx. 2 to 3 weeks. I am 83 therefore, that information was important to me. Our experience was, by and large, quite positive. Our first loan officer was very enthusiastic and a bit too chatty, but she did a good job getting things started. She could have explained a few things better which might have saved us a little time in the process, but she left FAR and a new loan officer took over. He picked up the transaction in the middle and did a great job, allowing for timely closing before rate lock expiration. Overall FAR showed us a professional and efficient experience.
