Fly.co.uk is a rip-off
First, it was the hidden charges.
Then, it was abdicating the insurance agreement with no solution.
Now, at the airport, there's no record of the extra baggage fee I paid.
Fly.co.uk is not just a rip-off, it commits fraud! Here's the letter I just sent their customer service folks:
So, by my calculations you have done the following...
1. Charged way more than the price indicated (as you've explained).
2. Failed to provide insurance which was paid for, with no reimbursement so far.
3. Folded an extra baggage fee into the bill, so I'll pay twice.
Solution, don't use 'em, go direct to the airline.
Very upset
The same bad story happened to me. I dont have much money to deal with this online fraud. After booking, the hidden fee appeared in the receipt, more than that ryanair secondly charge me for the same flight code. I used goeuro application to book ticket. When i sent emails for ryanair and goeuro, it seems they can do nothing.
All the contacts related to fly.co.uk are not available. I lost my money definitely
Did share it in all my traveling communities and hope people know about it
But if i can report this online fraud to a trustful organization, i will do my best.
Fraudulent
I was booking through Opodo and had good price for flight to Vienna, for some reason my debit card was rejected x2 and then somehow I ended up on fly.co.uk and booked the flight at the same cost, only when I got the receipt I found they had added £79.95 service charge. very angry because they hadn't done anything for this. I tried to call customer services because e-mail to Susan Terrance was ignored, waited 30 mins and then was cut off. We fly tomorrow and so worried there aren't any seats booked I daren't tell my husband.
Hidden service charge - flight three times cost quoted!
Booked a flight from Manchester to Southampton return via this company - received invoice confirming the cost of £53 - which included a (hidden) £30 service charge; this was a very attractive fare nonetheless until I was then debited £30 separately for the service charge and a further £79 for the flights from Flybe. The latter confirmed that this was the correct price and that third party companies were notorious for this sharp practice - or I guess, 'fraud'. I got through to fly.co.uk's customer service (only by pretending to want to book a flight). They suggested I send them a bank statement showing the charges. From subsequently researching this company, I think I might be wasting my time!
Warning!
Terrible company!!! hidden charges, no response to emails, when I finally reached a person on the customer services line they were very polite but cut me off after about 5 minutes of being on hold. I called back and waited for almost half an hour in a queue - the issue was then resolved but because of the stess and charges I will be sure never to book with them again, the company should be shut down. I feel sorry for the customer service team, they are worth more than the company they work for and must have to deal with a lot of angry customers!!
Rip-off
Same story
Hidden charges and fees that are equivalent to the third of my ticket price!! Only email to contact and the usual nonsense of not reading their terms and conditions.. a total rip-off DO NOT USE THEIR WEBSITE
Fraud
Hidden fees, fraudulus techniques, no phone only emails. Dont use this company.
Crooks
Same as all the other reviews. Excessive charges which were not disclosed at time of booking. Thus a £70 flight cost over £120. If you have been caught, complain to trading standards via Citizens Advice tel 03454040506 and to the European Consumer Centre 01268886690
Yup, same story here
What should have been £64 totalled £145 which we only found out after putting the payment through and receiving an invoice.
Interestingly, the invoice email wasn't even an actual confirmation, just an "inquiry" (I think ze Germans meant "enquiry", although an inquiry should definitely be launched into these fraudsters), with the promise of actual confirmation once they'd successfully stolen my money (which, thanks to Natwest being brilliant and spotting this for me, didn't happen. The Natwest fraud team, btw, even answered the phone at 11:15PM to sort this out for me).
Very impressed with Natwest. Very unimpressed with Fly.
***DO NOT USE: FLY.CO.UK WEBSITE IS DESIGNED TO CHEAT YOU!!
Fly.co.uk website is designed to trick and cheat the customer.
The pricing is shown on the top right and you put your payment details at the bottom of the screen to the left.
The icons for payment for Visa Electron is the same as Visa Debit and when you enter the number it fails and takes you to the top of the screen telling you to correct the number.
At this point it selects options that you never selected in the first place and jacks the price up and then if like me the number didn't work at the BOTTOM of the screen, I tried another VISA selection which is used for credit cards not Debit cards, it worked. But unknown to me as you can't see the pricing where you enter card details it then worked and charged me an extra £40 for service fees of which I wasn't expecting.
After realising this I called them and obviously they are trained in their tricks and don't give a XXap about customers and refuse to change anything unless you pay £100+ cancellation charge and are VERY smug in telling you there cheating T&Cs.
Total SCAM and a bunch of XXXholes. This company should be banned from trading and the people who designed and implemented the cheat biased website should be held accountable in a court of law.
AVOID it at all cost!
I have just bought a supposedly "cheap" flight ticket from fly.co.uk because I saw the price was about 20% lower than one in the airline's official site.
That was a big mistake because AFTER I paid with my credit card I found the real price to be about 100% more expensive as they added 30 GBP as a service cost to the original ticket price of 29 GBP!
They do not write this additional surcharge before I paid with my credit card. But it does not end here as they later sent me an email asking me to provide them with a copy of my passport and credit card.
If i do not send them these copies they will charge me a cancellation cost! I quickly called my credit card provider and they are kind enough to block my card and send me a new one. Be careful guys, this is one BIG scammer site! Please avoid it at all cost!
WARNING: Complete scammers!!
Bought an AirBaltic flight that cost 75 pounds. Selected the option to pay with a debit card, which had a subtitle saying "Fare + Service Fee" or something like that. Pressed confirm and pay and all that, then I get a confirmation from them saying that the service fee was 29.99 pounds!!!! That's nearly half the cost of the flight!!
Unbelievable, shameless scamming. Nightmarish stuff. I found out Trustpilot specifically so I could warn other people about fly.co.uk.
Hidden charges
They bamboozle you with information on the screen to make sure that you miss the small bits of information which suddenly whack on an extra £80 to your journey. This information is not clear enough, and they try to con you. They also mascaraed as a UK company when in fact they are based in Germany. DO NOT USE THESE FRAUDSTERS.
HIDDEN HIGH FEES. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID
I booked fairly cheap flights and checked NO to all extra services AND checked the detail break down of my flight which showed flight and taxes itemised. Total flights cost was £172.
I entered my payment details and when the confirmation came through an extra £60 was added for "service fee" .
Nowhere on the total or the payment page was this mentioned or outlined so therefore I would say that the extra charge is fraudulent.
25 MINUTES HOLD for customer service whilst the hold music was some rubbish with ironic lyrics about what a feeling ,never been so cheated"
100% AVOID
Unclear service fee charge and change fee
As above the 30 GBP was not clearly displayed and total surprise. Also I opted for an extra 10GBP for flexible to change fare... I realised when I tried to change my flight that you have to pay the change fee of 40 euro to airline and then email receipts etc to fly.co.uk to apply for refund. They are now saying they can't read the documents I sent which is unlikely. This was a laughably bad experience...I'll take it on the chin this time. I wish I read these reviews before I used them.
Fraudulent company, credit card companies are aware and decline payments
I realised within 10 min of making a booking, and entering my credit card details, that this was a fraudulent website. Contacted MasterCard fraud prevention. They were already aware and had declined the payment.
Do not use Fly.co.uk
This company mislead you into buying their service package which looks like it only costs £6.99. In reality once they have booked your flights for you they then invoice you for an additional 30% mark up.
Do not use this company, book your flights direct with the airline.
Total rubbish
As everyone else, my wife booked a ticket for a reasonable price, but after she confirmed the booking, she was charged a huge service fee which had not shown prior to conformation.
We called multiple times and caused such a fuss they agreed to refund the service charge.
Their UK number is +44 203 318 3346
Keep calling and make a nuisance of yourself and don't believe them when they say they can't do anything. They are just trying to get rid of you. Don't let them get away with it.
