Fly.co.uk ... stay away, do not trust!

I purchased 4 tickets for a total amount 1128,68 GBP on the 3rd October 2014.
As soon as I gave my credit card details on the 3rd October 2014, they effectively charged me 159.92 GBP corresponding to “Service fee including VAT”. So they could see that my account data was valid.
At exactly the same time of the transaction (3rd of October 2014) they sent me a mail saying that the payment could not be completed with the credit card details I provided and they gave me 24 hours to call my bank to resolve the situation (during the week end !!)… Otherwise cancellation fees etc.
There is no way to call them from international; Permission is required to call their extremely expensive telephone line. No replies to mails but standard generic mails.
Also be aware of the tricky bills: The effective costs of the tickets is charged by the airline, the service fee including VAT is separately charged by UNISTER TRAVEL RETAIL GmbH & Co. KG, and finally the fees for standard extra services are charged by Fly.co.uk. You don’t want to deal with such a configuration.
I recently received a mail asking me to send 100 GBP cancellation fee to Unister Germany. This daes not make any sense.
I hope this will help.
Kind regards. Fabrice Schottey.

do not trust this company with anything

Try to book flights with this company for a holiday a June. Went through the whole process and at the end it ask me to pay by credit card £26 or debit card. Tried to pay by one debit card which was rejected it said has to be visa electron debit card no charge. Put this in and received a booking reference and that my e tickets would arrive in 12 hours. Then 2 hours later an email arrives saying that the bank has refused payment and that I should ring the bank to sort it out, then ring them on a high priced 0904 number. Well i rang the bank and fly hadn't even presented the request. Here's the rub. I didn't now want to go ahead with this scam company because of the blatant lies regarding my request. But this didn't stop them threatening me with the cancellation charge of £100 cancellation fee if i didn't ring them with a credit card number. Time went by and they then stated the flights had been cancelled and they would be taken £100 from the card i had given them. You have to ask the question if they can take £100 from my card for cancellation then why couldn't the take the money for the flights in the first place. Any cancelled my card in fear that the would take money for something i hadn't paid for. So instead of taken the £100 from that card, they took the money of the first card, which is the one the website rejected. Be very very aware that once you have pressed the button to say you want to buy the flights you are stuffed. Nice work if you can get it well done fly for such a miserable experience!!!!!!!!!

AN ABSOLUTE SCAM - DO NOT USE

I booked a flight for myself and family through "Flybe" and somehow this company came up as the first on google, I clicked on to book - thinking I was on the Flybe website only to be told after clicking the button to pay, that they added on £199.90 for the pleasure of booking through them!! I immediately tried to contact them via email, and basically it came back and said not their problem, take it up with Flybe. - who surprise surprise said it wasn't their problem either, I reported them to the credit card company who didn.t want to know as they gave me the tickets I required. I rang the police who said they could do nothing!!! then we arrived at the airport to find they hadn't given us any luggage so I had to pay another £40 per person (4 of us) each way for luggage OMG I could have bought the airline with the amount extra I had to pay. I'm totally disgusted and so frustrated as no-one can help me get back my money. They should be shut down and taken off the website. Airlines are aware of them but can do nothing about them. They trade as a travel agent with extras OMG what extras - passengers please please be aware. I am nearly £500 out of pocket and no-one seems to care. Don't get caught like me.

Shame I can't give zero stars!

This company are a disgrace! My wife booked flights on Ryanair via them by mistake and they added £120 in fees to fares totalling £160 They give no easy way to contact them other than a 50p a minute phone number and do not reply to emails - or if they do it's just a standard template response. Operate out of Leipzig, Germany using a .co.uk domain name. They also add fees after you have confirmed the final payment for things you didn't request and charge £15 per leg per person for using a credit card - which I believe is now illegal. This company needs to be shut down!

Within 24 hours wefly had cancelled the flight, but 3 months on they are yet to refund the money. I have handed the matter over to the dispute section of my bank, and contacted the police. I have phoned themx9 times, but never get any joy. Their customer services are awful, they promise to sort it out every time but never do. My blood is boiling!!

Extremely dissatisfied & am 100% NOT a returning customer!

I came across this company and was automatically drawn due to the vast variety of tickets at lower costs compared to others. I booked 5 flights to Canada and was quoted £3,756.95 in total, however at the confirmation page the quote went up to £3,971.80. Stupidly I thought that this was much cheaper in comparison to other flight costs during the summer period and assumed this much expense was expected. I proceeded with payment and awaited a confirmation email. The email received upon booking stated that I would receive final confirmation soon, this left me worried because I assumed once I had paid, my flights would automatically have been confirmed. The next day I received an email stating the payment transaction had failed to go through and the price of ticket could balloon at any time and I would be expected to pay whatever amount! I called my bank and it was only then I was told that although they said the payment failed to go through, fly.co.uk had taken 5 different payments and therefore it was prohibited by my bank. I was extremely fuming at this stage as they had said no payment had been taken! After all these complications I decided not to go ahead with the booking and cancel it all together. I was then told that I would be required to pay a cancellation fee of £100, even when whilst I was booking I paid for additional costs such as "No fly.co.uk fees in case of cancellation" to cover every passenger.
I am yet to receive my refund which for them happens to be ever so convenient as it will cost me even more money in order to call their customer helpline and resolve the issue. I am extremely disappointed and disgusted at how a company feels they can gain money from their dishonesty and false advertising.
Although it is significantly more costly, I will in future purchase flight tickets directly from a legitimate airline, in order to avoid these fraudsters.
I hope this helps those considering this website- purchase with caution!

Just about as bad as it gets.

This is the second time I used them, the first one last year was for my 16 year old grandson travelling alone. They changed the flight details over and over and ended up offering him a flight to America with so many long layovers it was a 28 hour journey when we rejected that they gave us one on a different day. Sorted it out eventually and yes it was a great price so I sucked it up. Decided to try them again......... big mistake. If something sucks the first time I should have learned.
I tried today to book a flight for my son but half way through the checkout process I was basically booted off the last page of checkout and returned to the find a flight page. I thought what the heck and went to Expedia and got the same flight 20 pounds cheaper and booked it. Imagine how surprised I was when half an hour later I got an email telling me that my booking request had been made and confirmation would be available in 24 hours. I contacted my credit card company and found that they had made EIGHT CHARGES FOR $1.65 AND TWO FOR $16.46. I authorised the card company to dispute the charges and not allow the flight charges. Eventually got an email from the company offering to cancel it for 100 pounds. After a whole bunch of emails back and forth and another call to the credit card they wrote and said that the flight was cancelled, but gave me no explanation of why they had tried to charge me an additonal $50. It was their website that had a glitch not anything I did. I book half a dozen flights a year so I know what I am doing. I feel like they tried to scam me. If you have a problem dont try calling the number for customer service. I tried at least 10 times and every time was told that there was no such number. Thanks to great customer support at Capital One I will not be out of pocket but certainly this bunch of fly boys tried hard to do it.

Turkish delight

Must admit coming from Malta we usually travel air Malta, but this time decided to give Turkish air a go as we were going to Istanbul. The fly.co.uk site came up with the cheapest price and the booking procedure was really simple. We were kept informed via email after booking and even got an email to remind us that the flight was only 4 days away and gave updated flight details. All in all a very good experience, hassle free and economical. Would recommend.

Unacceptable!

I booked a ticket from Athens to London using fly.co.uk. They cancelled the booking requesting additional information and evidence of card holder, but at the same time they proceeded in charging the card for this cancellation which was not of my choosing. Watch out this practice, so as not to lose your money or have to provide photocopies of cards and passports which they should not be asking in the first place, or they should be warning you that unless you have them and you are prepared to provide it to them, they can both cancel the flight because they don't accept the card and charge the card at the same time for the cancelation!! Keep away, I never had this problem with any other similar website.
