Poor service and incorrect delivery times

Poor service, website lead times are rarely honoured. Most recent order was completely missed and when I called to see how this mistake could be rectified I was greeted by a computer says no response. There are plenty of online retailers who sell the same products, I would avoid this company and choose one which honours its delivery commitments and is proactive should mistakes happen!

NOT AN ISOLATED INCIDENT, many items were bought as part of my bathroom order and very few were delivered on time. Taps were over a month late! Saying sorry in a nonchalant way does not excuse the poor level of service

This was an isolated incident of an order (for a coat hook) that went astray. Customer was offered a two day remedy but this was not accepted. After several apologies customer cancelled order. However, we cannot be responsible for manufacturers lead times, if an item is out of stock then we cannot deliver it. The bulk of your other order was dispatched within 3 days, at your request with remaining items delivered as soon as available.

Highly Recommended

I find it hard to believe some of the negative reviews about this company. Personally I have found them to be outstanding in terms of email communication and flexibility for delivery times. They are prepared to split deliveries if your local storage is limited and always keep you informed of the progress of receiving items to their warehouse, as they build your pallet. However, that was what I discovered after I had selected them from 5 top names, based purely on their competitive quotation. I have used other suppliers in the past, but this is the first company that has the feel of a family-run business, where the staff enjoy their work and really care about their customers. Thank you TrustPilot - You have allowed me to support a company that has earned my thanks.

Excellent company offering good customer service

I made 3 separate website purchases over the course of having a bathroom renovated recently - large shower screen and tray, toilet and mixer tap. They supply a huge number of lines from many top manufacturers. Communication from Fountain staff was good and all items were delivered safely and at the expected time by their own van and driver.
I also visited their showroom in New Mills - absolutely stunning and undoubtedly the best in the area...in fact the best I have ever visited. Inspirational !

Delivered toilet pan smashed in half

Delivered toilet pan smashed in half. Said I am at fault because I did not open the box on the day of delivery. Refusing refund. Will have to resort to small claims court

Unfortunately the item was delivered 14 days ago, which is beyond the time limit for reporting damages and since the customer is in Ireland it is more important that deliveries are checked promptly.

Never ever buy from fountain direct

Never ever buy from fountain direct. In website it was showing items are available in week time but after i place order, i get the actual time that it will be available in 4 weeks time. i was ok to wait for this.

After long wait I got a call it's ready for deliver. I've received my delivery today and delivery man asked me to come to the main road to guide him as he can't find home, when every one can navigate to my home. This delivery man asked me to sign the paper on main road and he asked me to carry the item from main road to my home despite car and van access easily available in my home. Delivery man refused to drop in front gate. Never order from them.

A pallet delivery is to the curb side (this is standard for all pallet delivery companies). Some drivers are more helpful than others and will bring to the door - however since the delivery service is out sourced it is beyond our control.

DO NOT EVEN BOTHER.... Shocking customer service

Ordered my product on the Sunday by friday still hadn't received it so emailed, they told me they have run out of stock and wont be getting any more in. I went on their website to find that they are still selling them but at a price nearly 3x higher. Karen was very rude and not helpful at all when i rang.I got told they ran out of stock last week (the week i ordered it) if that was the case why not tell me on Monday after i ordered it instead of waiting until i chased? Emailed a few times for their complaints policy but she is not getting back to me with it. Once/|if i get it I will be sending a formal complain. shocking customer service. Dont waste your time with them....

This was a special stock offer, unfortunately we could not fulfill the order because the stock had completely run out. Customer was informed and refunded. This did take a few days longer than normal and we apologised for this.

Competitive Prices Shame About Delivery Services and Poor Response to Problems

Waited over 7 hours on a building site on a freezing December day for a large shower room delivery . When delivery failed to arrive in pre-agreed slot had to contact FD and request that they contact the transport company to trace my delivery. My initial enquiry ellicited a voicemail telling me I was last on the list and giving me an incorrect number for the transport company. Unable to contact the transport company because the number was incorrect I eventually manged to get hold of someone at FD whose initial response equated to a metaphorical shrug of the shoulders and "not my responsibility" attitude, "everyone has gone home" After pointing out that my purchase and therefore contract was with FD and not the transport company and I would very much appreciate not waiting in the cold any longer a call was made to someone a little more helpful. A second conversation from an individual who called me back established that the delivery vehicle had broken down and returned to the depo. Whilst these things do happen a lack of contact from anyone in spite of having a contact number and the frustration of not knowing what was happening and the fairly indifferent attitude once the order was shipped and out of their hands will ensure that this is my first and last order with FD. I would however, credit Damien with a very helpuful response once he was involved in ensuring the order was delivered to the builders on site the next day. Even here though they had to "encourage" the driver to wait having dumped the delivery on the pavement while they checked goods in damaged packaging. Things do go wrong occasionally but there is no excuse for poor communication and customer service.

Only good when nothing goes wrong

competitive price and good customer service but only if there is nothing wrong out of the ordinary.
My bathroom mirror started to corrode a little over a year after purchase. When I got around to complain I received a reply that this is out of warranty. Any normal person would expect a bathroom mirror to last longer than this warranty and I do not think I should have expected or carried this fault out of my pocket. I enquired whether the manufacturer of the Tagus Rebus mirror could be contacted by me directly and after some perseverance got an answer that Fountain is no longer dealing with them and then that they went out of business 18 month ago.
conclusion - only buy if you are confident that the product will outlast the warranty or if you are a good lawyer.

Competitive with excellent customer service - thanks to Fountain Direct

I have used FD to supply brassware and sanitary ware for a family wetroom and en suite refit. They gave the most competitive quotes for quality Marflow, Impey and Silverdale (ex BC Sanitan) products plus advice on the items. Items were delivered on time, and any problems (a couple of items were delayed) were resolved quickly, i.e. within the week. Buying expensive stuff over the internet can be a concern so I did look at the reviews to check out FD. I don't normally take the trouble to fill in these reviews, but a few other people have which helped me. Having read a bad review + 4 excellent reviews I thought I'd share my recent experience as well, and hope it's useful to others.

Poort service, refused to accept returned goods, left £260 out of pocket for a toilet seat!

I ordered a toilet seat which was very expensive for my children as my 4 year old son kept falling in as he is just 4. this one was supposed to be bigger and have a wider seat as it is a "throne" seat. I received it and a couple of weeks later opened it once we had some time over Christmas to fit it. as soon as I took it out of the box it was clear it would never fit a normal toilet so I replaced it, resealed it in a box within a box marked fragile and paid for it to be retuned special delivery as requested by Fountain. at the time I returned it, Fountain said they would have to knock off £80 as we had not returned it within 10 days and I reluctantly accepted that. However having paid £260 for the seat and £20 for the postage, I was told by Fountain that it had arrived damaged so they would not receive it back and about 2 weeks later it was returned to me. I have no idea how they believe that this could have occurred when the toilet seat was not even fully removed when I originally received it as I saw immediately that it was the wrong back sitting (which was never clear or stated on the website that it needed a special Victorian style toilet) and I do not believe it was damaged at my end at all, they simply did not want to refund it. Iit was returned fully packaged, in the box, in another box and marked fragile. I will not be back to this company.
