Plymouth Branch

Plymouth Branch - I would give 0 stars if i could, they have no respect of privacy, they just give your key out to people who let themselves into your place without any warning.

No respect for GDPR

I made the mistake of calling to view a house with fox and sons. I then decided not to go ahead and have not stopped receiving calls or emails since. I have repeatedly asked to be taken off their contact lists and for them to delete my data from their records but to no avail

I have been with Fox and Sons (Winton

I have been with Fox and Sons (Winton, Bournemouth, BH7) for several years and what made the experience good is two key members i.e. Kelsey and Karen Akerman. Their service is exceptional in they respond same / next day to any query, are happy to action bespoke requests and sort matters when required. They keep me always keep me in the loop and are transparent and honest.
They really make a difference to the Landlord experience.

Apparently fox & sons would like to…

Apparently fox & sons would like to understand better regarding the bad review they received from me so I duly sent the information they requested and not a word from them and still waiting over a month on. Obviously not that bothered.

Eastleigh branch are awful. Beware!

Eastleigh branch were very helpful until we signed contract to hopefully sell our house. From then on we had 20 weeks of no communication what so ever.
No one returned our calls or emails.
Be very aware of them as they will not communicate with the customer and even before our contract ended we were hoping that a buyer would not come along as we felt fox & sons did not deserve the commission on the sell.
We would advise anyone who is thinking of signing up with them to stay away!, do not sign a thing!!

Southampton Branch

During the initial phases, before we paid any money to them they were very helpful, checking in to see how our search was going. Very speedy and detailed responses to any questions that I had.

I am not exaggerating when I say that as soon as we paid their £700 fee we have had no contact from them at all. Someone else has been put on to our case - I'm not entirely sure why and the only correspondence I have had from them is to tell me that they've been assigned to us. I followed up with an email that has been left unanswered - I have had more contact and assistance with the sellers' estate agent than I have from my mortgage advisor!!!!!!!!

Part of their fee is a lifetime subscription that you don't have to pay again if you use them in the future but at this rate, I will absolutely not be using them again. Not that it matters to them as they've squeezed the money out of us now!

Unethical, Dishonesty and Unprofessional(Hastings Branch)

Unethical , dishonesty and unprofessional (Hastings Branch).
Had an offer accepted in February 2023 with Hastings Branch. Toby Jones(Manager) was dealing with the case. For the last 6 months we have been told that the( lease holder management company) were unable to release a lease pack because there was an outstanding debt. Since then, there's been a series of excuses with the property. Miraculously, the lease pack was released soon after our second valuation which was completed on the 24/08/23. Following the 2nd valuation Toby contacted me and informed me that some else has now made a higher offer despite the property being off market according to the offer letter. In this process we lost money for legal fees ,2 sets of valuations and time. I would not recommend the Estate agency .

We used fox& sons ( Gosport branch ) to…

We used fox& sons ( Gosport branch ) to market our rented house . They found a couple that moved in Dec 22. They assured us a credit check would be done and sent us the details of the tenants . December rent was paid which most of was used to pay the branch their fee. At the start of January 23 when rent was due tenant delayed due to financial problems , to then only pay part of the rent. This went on till May to then receive a letter to say tenants have been given " breathing space" . Unsure to what this was we went down to the gosport office to ask them could they give us more details on this . They had not heard of breathing space and was of no help whatsoever. We explained that these tenants have paid next to no rent , but they explained to us that credit checks had been done. Well , all I can say is their credit check that they had done was useless . We have lost thousands of pounds in rent . Spent hundreds getting a solicitor to get the nightmare tenants out . I would never use fox and sons as their services are really bad . Tenants are finally out leaving piles of old furniture for us to get rid of , more costs! . Your credit checks are useless !! If you had delved further with these tenants you would have easily found out they were in so much debt . Anyone looking to rent out their property I would strongly recommend you look elsewhere.

Worked above and beyond to enable us to sell our house

We tried to sell our property a couple of years ago with Fox and Sons, but then we had to postpone the sale so it was disappointing for us all. Tom from Fox and Sons in Crawley then decided to make it his life's work to sell our property 🤣 he went above and beyond to get the right buyer for us and finally it has happened so we can't thank him and his team enough. Tom never gives up and thats amazing. Abi, who is the Senior Branch Administrator at Crawley then went into archives to find previous reports which we desperately needed for the solicitors. Nothing was too much trouble for her and they still had them which was amazing. The new manager there Rebecca, has turned this company around and I couldn't recommend them more. Big pat on the back for you all 👏👏

Professional service...

Earlier in the year I chose Fox & Sons at Waterlooville to sell my Mums flat.
Kieran was my point of contact and he was extremely helpful & friendly throughout the process, keeping me updated with progress and contacting the conveyancing solicitor when necessary.
He was very easy to work with throughout the sale, always available to answer any queries and always professional.

I have to say how helpful the staff…

I have to say how helpful the staff were at the Bognor Branch of Fox & Sons. They could not have been more helpful.
They went out of their way to make sure my mum's sale went well, and she had tricky buyers to say the least, but all the staff were exceptional. They keep me updated with the progress and helped out with all the negotiation between all parties involved.
My mum was getting very stressed with everything and they all helped to ease the pressure and situation.
So I want to say on behalf of my mum and myself a BIG THANK YOU.

Helpful, friendly and responsive

Alex, Oskar and the rest of the team at the Eastbourne branch have been really helpful throughout the process myself and my partner have been through for renting a property, advertised through Fox&Sons. They have been really helpful with providing the information required to ensure things have been as smooth and straightforward as possible.

Saltash

Kate and Tom in Saltash Branch were amazing. They did everything they could to get me into a property with such short notice. They answered all my questions, not right away as I know they are busy but they always got back to me. Would recommend them to anyone looking for a property in the area.

Wish I could give no stars- Southampton

Wish I could give no stars.

Moved into my flat in April to discover a myriad of issues, all were reported to them. Nothing has been done since then despite constant chasing, leading to myself being trapped in a room due to a broken door and fire and rescue needing to be called out, resulting in more damage.

Landlord also let herself into the flat without prior warning as Fox and Sons told her it was okay- incredibly illegal and a breach of contract, fortunately I was off sick on that day to catch her. Spoke to the branch about it just to be shouted at down the phone by Nicola who works there.

DO NOT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE!

Do not use this Eastbourne Estate Agent

We feel our property was overpriced, which led to reduction after reduction in sale price. Did not respond to phone calls, or said things would be done that weren`t. To us the agents came across as arrogant, starting from not explaining the length of initial contract, right through to poor viewings both in numbers and quality of details given to possible buyers. Things were delayed because information was not passed through, and quite often was inaccurate. Very poor value for money. Instructed around the end of July 2022, completed 30th March 2023, pushed into a very short time between exchange and completion because of misinformation, and into a large reduction on our sale price.

Reply from Fox And-sons

Dear Mr and Mrs Lindfield,

Firstly I am sorry you weren't happy with the overall service and some of these points will be taken as constructive feedback for my team.

while you mention viewings numbers we did achieve a sale.

i feel some comments here are not totally fair, the reduction and the time it took was due to issues with the chain not with fox and sons, a buyer in the chain asked for a £20k reduction as his agent below lost their buyer and re sold the property for £30k less. which then filtered through the rest of the chain, a price to which you agreed. we also dropped our fee to help in any way we could without hesitation.

either way the points around service i will look into and try to improve the team.

all the best for the future,

Stephen Rodgers
