Great online and real-world booksellers
Love Foyles: both the flagship store on Caring Cross Road and the website. I had recent occasion to contact the online support team following a late, damaged delivery from Royal Mail and the response from Alyssa was great: fast, friendly, efficient; and the damaged book was quickly and easily exchanged from a new copy.

Waited 40 days to receive my book
I ordered my book on the 15th of April and only received it today on the 25th of May. I bought the book through the website and the item listing showed no signs that the book was not in stock, only that it may take one to two weeks to receive the book (which is the same disclaimer on every book listed).
After waiting over two weeks, I emailed their support to ask where my book and was told they would check with the supplier. After waiting another five days, the date now being the 13th of May, I got the reply that my book had only just been restocked by the supplier. I emailed back asking for a timeframe for when I should receive my book, and was told the supplier didn’t give a timeframe, but “hopefully within the next couple of weeks.”
Finally, today I have been mailed my book.
Foyles should not be selling books that they have no stock of in the first place. Nor should I have to chase for an item I have bought. If I had seen the other reviews here written about other customers having similar experiences, I would have spent my money elsewhere.
This will be my first and last time purchasing from Foyles.

I love Foyles but the barista skills are abominable.
I love Foyles, I love bookstores, but I also come here because I love the cafe upstairs...HOWEVER, as an ex-barista I try never to look when they make my coffee here. I'd love to offer my free services to teach the staff how to make coffee here. Just this morning I ordered a mocha, the lady didn't let the water run through the machine before inserting the handle with newly ground coffee (BIG NO NO..means I get old espresso grind through), the coffees are INSANELY HOT, which means you are blasting the milk to insane temperatures (the lady inserted the dirty milk wand, without blasting air through it first into my milk, walked away for a few seconds, allowing the milk to scream and no air to come through and I had to wait 8 minutes or so for it to cool off..it is also NOT good for your gut to overheat the milk, shouldn't be hotter than 90 degrees)...but to top it all off..she let the espresso run only 8 seconds (should be 27-29 seconds), I assume because she hadn't run the water through the machine first...so I had a mocha with not even a full shot of espresso for 4.50. Wohoo! This is not the first time.

I required help completing a purchase using the balance on a gift card.
I recently wanted to place a book order online and use the remaining credit balance on a soon-to-expire gift card. Alyssa responded quickly to my request for help when I could not identify the required Security Code on the card. Subsequently I had trouble accessing the basket and moving on to Checkout. Again, Alyssa was ready with advice within minutes. I was able to complete my purchase and am thoroughly satisfied with this degree of customer service. It could not have been better.
