Ordered jewellery findings and beads online for the first time from this company because I want to support independent shops, rather than Amazon and other multinationals. I found the website very easy to use. Goods arrived 2 days later, including those marked “to follow”. I’m very impressed by the careful packaging. I’ve previously received silver findings crammed together in small plastic bags - a waste of plastic and a good way to damage the silver. These were packed, individually or in pairs, in reusable containers.
I think I’ve just found my “go to” source of findings. Thank you. I’ll be ordering again.

I have tried several times to order items online but the website will not allow me to select any items. They are going to lose plenty of business unless this is sorted. I wanted to buy from an independant vendor but ended up going with Amazon....again!

Made my first purchase from them. Had no idea they existed. They have a wide variety of stationery, art and craft materials. Everything was well packaged and arrived timely. However, one of the oil pastels arrived broken. I called up the shop, the call was immediately answered, no long waiting times and it was refunded immediately. I wish all companies offered such excellent customer service! I would definitely be ordering from them again and would highly recommend them.

Placed a very small order (£3) online and received it in super quick time in spite of all the current delivery restrictions. The item was packed with great care and well protected, Brilliant service. I will definitely give this company, which I have never heard of before, a look when I am purchasing future papers or stationary products.

Came across the shop when doing an internet search for 35 cm wreath. Ordered arrived quickly. Used them again, same great service here within 2 days. Will defo use again. Excellent service.

Really poor customer service. Really wanted to support independent shops rather than chain stores during the COVID-19 pandemic so have bought from Fred Aldous although the same items were available from Waterstones. Items read ‘in stock’ when order was placed. After 2 weeks of hearing nothing I sent them an email asking for an update, they told me item would be in stock in a fortnight. I will then have waited 4 weeks for an item that their website said was ‘in stock’. No apology or explanation. I emailed to suggest it may have been a good idea to let me know this but no response......so sad as next time will probably just order from one of the big companies. You really need to improve your customer service Fred Aldous!

Stupidly expensive with no returns policy. Never again.
I have lots of art materials to buy and it won't be from here ever again.

I purchased 2 boxes of Fotospeed photo paper at a great price.Ordered Tuesday and arrived 2 days later on Thursday.On top of that delivery was free. This was my first purchase from Fred Aldous Ltd. but it certainly will not be my last. Top class prices and service.

I ordered a small item on a Friday (using the next working day delivery) thinking that I might get it Monday if I was lucky. I got up Saturday morning and there it was on the doormat. This is excellent service.

On multiple occasions I enjoy visiting the store for a variety of goods, which I'm always more than satisfied with, however the service can be a little lacklustre, taking staff several minutes before attending the till. Even when witnessing a customer walking up and down the aisle repeatedly, never seem to ask if they can help. The staff are often lovely but I feel need a little bit more awareness of customer needs.

Disappointing service from Chris R (according to the receipt) when we visited the Manchester store on Sunday. My daughter and I waited to be served at the tills for several minutes as there was no one serving. The member of staff dressing the nearby window managed to avoid eye contact. Eventually a young man (Chris), who I had seen in the aisles and taken for a customer, appeared at the far end of the counter and said, “Yes”. I replied, “I’d like to pay for this, please,” holding an item aloft. Chris asked us to move down to where he was standing. There was no “Please,” no apology for the wait and only an off-handed “Thanks” when I paid. Not the standard service we usually experience at Fred Aldous.

It's the first time I've used this company and for the service I've received I'll be using them again many thanks for the quick delivery service

I don't think I have ever had an experience like this. I tried to return something that was the wrong colour...not as advertised. But because the item was in the same colour range they refused to refund or replace. When I say colour range I mean I thought I'd bought an off white with a hint of green. The thing that arrived was mint green!

I was presented with ' Well it's green, I don't know what your problem is'

To round it off they managed to insult us as we left the shop.
