bad start = bad aftersales too

I had a truly terrible experience with Freego, the electric scooter company. The scooter I received was an absolute disaster from the get-go. First off, the telescopic adjustment was completely stuck, rendering it impossible to set the handlebars to a comfortable height. It's as if they didn't even bother with basic quality control.

Furthermore, the front headlamp on the scooter was barely hanging on. I couldn't trust it to light my way safely at night. It was a clear safety hazard, and it's shocking that Freego would even consider shipping out a product in such a shoddy condition.

But the worst part came when the battery died. When I reached out to their customer service for assistance, I was met with nothing but frustration. They claimed they needed photos of the battery to diagnose the issue. Fair enough, I provided them with the requested images. However, after that, I received absolutely no response. It's as if they simply vanished off the face of the earth.

To make matters worse, the sticker on the battery, which contains vital technical information, had been worn away. So not only did they sell me a faulty scooter, but they couldn't even be bothered to keep records of their own products!

In short, Freego is a company that provides subpar products and even worse customer service. I would strongly advise against anyone considering purchasing one of their scooters. Freego? More like Free-No-Go. Save your money and sanity by looking elsewhere for an electric scooter.

I bought two bikes for Christmas 2021

I bought two bikes for Christmas 2021. After six months, one of the bikes went dead for no apparent reason. We could not get any support. Sent emails. At first, someone asked for more pictures. Sent pictures. Then they asked us to make videos. Did not say why or what for- a video of the bike not working? After that, no reply at all. It is Chinese customer service which is really no customer service at all. Confusious say "ha ha ha! You got screwed! I tried to troubleshoot and fix myself. Bought extra battery, controller, LCD display, swapped out parts, figured out that the LCD display was the issue. Replaced it, now the bike powers up, but does not operate. Thought it needed some kind of programming, programmed it, still does not work. It is a complete waste of time and money. Nobody knows how to work on them. Nobody can get parts or information. Everything was made as cheap as possible with stuff that is not meant to last or withstand normal use on any level.
A big piece of absolute junk. Much frustration and now we find out it was all nothing but a big scam. Steer clear of this garbage heap. This Kevin Chu had no intentions of having a legitimate business at all. They went under so fast and they hide like it was the plan all along. Generate a bunch of hype and money, then disappear...

Garbage product

Got my F1 pro back in November 22. I had to get a new derailleur/ The first one caught on something and popped off. It took a while but I got it. The next issue was the screws for the pedal sprocket came loose and the guard came off with the chain. I had to throttle home the whole way. Lastly. The motor seems to be on the fritz. Freego will not help. I sent videos to prove my case and they all but called me a liar. Said nothing wrong with the bike. Unreal. They said I could BUY a new motor, but they wouldn't send me one for free. My bike is currently useless. I would not buy a bag of rags from this company. Please go to any other company for your ebike. Not this one!!!!

I purchased a Freego DK200 in June of…2022

I purchased a Freego DK200 in June of 2022 and immediately had issues with the motor, front tire, and throttle. Customer service is Kevin Chu who makes you contact him through WhatsApp, the problem is it takes several days just to get a question back and no issues are ever resolved. I offered to purchase a new front rim if they would be willing to pay for me to send my old rim back and prove that it was defective from the factory, but they wouldn't even agree to that. Save yourself the humiliation and buy from a reputable company with proven customer service.

the company doesn't stand behind their junk bikes

On February sixth of 2022 I bought a new electric Freego bike from an Ebay seller for 730 dollars. It arrived in about a week but had a blown out tire, (not flat. The tube was severely ripped). The seller agreed for me to take it to a bike shop and they would pay for the repair which was about 22$. The bike shop warned me the problem was with the wheel and that it did not have enough of rim on the wheel to hold the tire in so it would blow out more tubes. (Understand the bike has many levels of warrantees, none less than a year but some like the wheels are lifetime warrantees in their ads.) I notified the seller of this. Due to snow, I could not ride the bike again until April. The tire promptly blew out. I replaced the tube my self and it happened again around the first of May. I contacted the seller and after many emails they basically told me they didn't have to do anything because Ebay has a 30 day policy. I contacted Ebay and they said they don't do anything after 30 days and there was no appeal. I replaced the tube again and then the bike would not turn on despite the computer showing the battery has a half charge, (though it would not take more than that). Then the bike would not turn on at all despite having only a total of 28 miles on it. The seller stopped returning any emails as did Ebay. I contacted Freego of America and have two long email chains with them both indicating they were negotiating with Ebay. Now neither of those employees return any emails and I am stuck with a worthless bike in my garage. I initially asked for a new wheel or a bike exchange. Freego of America tells me it needs the computer, a battery and the wheel and they do not have the parts and it is up to Ebay and the seller to fix the situation.

Fake co. Scamming

When were these reviews made. Before or after the business went under and someone took over to scam people.
Bought a bike. FedEx is shipping the item all over the usa. For 11 days. The delivery was 20 miles away from supposed warehouse. No one answers the phone. No one returns emails. The company is obviously fraud. Do not fall for it.

__HELP NEEDED__ Electrical fault at the moment, otherwise great bike

(My freego Hawk is currently playing up and I've isolated the issue to an unattached red wire coming from the speed controller. The wire is hanging loose at the battery end by the mysterious box all the wires go in to. I'd greatly appreciate some contact info for any dedicated FreeGo staff that could advise me here. I understand the company is not around anymore but I would love to get my bike back on the road. I've also put together a wiring diagram but would appreciate access to an official one if possible Thanks)

Whilst my Hawk has had its troubles over the years needing replacement parts which is to be expected, it's been a joy to ride and makes my commute so much faster. I've had it for I would say at least 5 years and have gone through a chain, battery, motor, throttle, speed controller, back wheel as the pad brakes wore the rim, 2 tyres which were replaced with steel strip tyres, the adjustable handlebar would work loose so i fixed it with plenty epoxy and paper wrapping. I've never consistently maintained the bike washing it probably 3 times since I bought it and lubricating from time to time maybe twice a year. I kept it covered for the most part at home but uncovered at work and living on an island has increased the corrosion greatly rusting the suspension solid (which I prefer). I ride it every week day for a 4 mile round trip. I spent about £900 to purchase and maybe £600-£800 to maintain over the years not including brake replacements which I now do myself as it is much cheaper.

Deathtrap. No other word for it. Avoid!

If I could give it zero stars, I would. The frame of my husband's 5 year old Freego Hawk snapped in two whilst he was riding it. It was not at a weld point, it was at the hole in the frame where the wires are concealed. It was regularly and correctly serviced throughout its life by the same electric bike specialist shop he bought it from new (Ebike Centres), who have informed us Freego went into liquidation. I can't say I'm surprised!

Freego Bikes have now gone into…

Freego Bikes have now gone into liquidation.
This comes as no surprise to me as they spoke a good story but sadly their business and sales delivery was far short of what I would have expected from a Company with such a customer base.
Their products initially were considered to be very good, but after a while, the reliability and workmanship were lacking.
We were initially told that Freego Bikes were manufactured to their specific requirements and all parts and mechanisms were designed and manufactured only for their products. Since going into liquidation it would seem that this is not the case and spare parts are available from other suppliers and locations. Yes a bit of a sales pitch but lacking in actual honesty.
Customer service on the face of it was good except they struggled to keep to agreed pricing.
Today you can go and buy a better product for a more competitive price.
Sorry for all the Freego clients out there with a product that has run its time and may now be considered a bit of an overpriced less than a standard product.
But I guess that may be why they are no longer trading.
