Gemini glider sofa
On Sunday the 28th of June, I ordered and purchased a 2 seater sofa from the Gemini range, for a total just shy of £2000, in the Brighton store. This range has gliders, so the seat slides in and out, I returned on the Friday the 3rd July, where my partner drew to my attention the deep furrows in the carpet made by the gliders. This was not pointed out to me at the point of sale. I have deep pile carpet and these tram lines would be visible when the seats have been slid back, ultimately, ruining my expensive carpet.
I immediately, spoke to the salesman in the store and told him that I wish to cancel my order, he was very offhand and said I would need to speak to the man who sold me the sofa, who would be in on Saturday. He left a message for him to call me , I spoke to him and he said that I could not cancel and the order was bespoke and was already on a container and on its way, and that there was nothing I could do. I said that there is a 25% cancellation fee,
I was told to email the manager which i did on Friday thr 3rd July, but have not had a reply. I asked for a head office number and he said choose option 3 on the voice mail. I called and spoke to a woman who was very shirty and said that it was nothing to do with her, I asked for the customer complaints departments number and was told there was not one, and I should contact citizens advice .
I cannot believe that a large company like furniture village does not have a complaints department and the attitude of the staff is so poor.
I was also annoyed that the sale started on the Monday the 29th June, which was not poi ted out to me although, to be fair I did get a managers discretion discount but I still paid £200 over the top.

There was a problem but the Furniture Village dealt with it well
After waiting for a several months, our table was delivered with a scratch. I contacted Furniture Village to complain and their response was very good. Mariyah has very helpful and polite on the phone as she found a solution to the issue.
Accidents happen but how they are dealt with, is the difference between a bad store and a good one.
Their delivery crew were brilliant
Very friendly
Very friendly, salesman Pascal so helpful, made a great effort to understand what I was looking for and made the sale very easy.
Good service, no hassling by sales team!

Scratched table
Kush was very helpful and I was more than satisfied with the resolution outcome. He went out of his way to make sure we had an excellent service.
Great Service
From the day we ordered our sofa's in store and the helpfulness of the store team to the guys who delivered our items the whole process has been great, hence why we have been a customer for over 20 years.
Delayed delivery and missing parts
The sofa was delivered eventually after being delayed 4 times. The team scratched the floor when building the sofa and discovered a piece missing. I received one call to say they would be in contact when the part is ready. Have heard nothing from them since and it's been 3 weeks. Tried calling them but can't wait 2 hours to get through. Chat function is disabled. Have emailed but no response. Awful aftercare customer service and they don't care about their customers once they have your money.

Brighton Furniture Village
Brighton Furniture Village. After initial great instore service and a significant mattress and pillow purchase, my wife didn't get on with her pillow (spent 10mins lying on it, that night, within a pillow protector AND a pillow cover) and so we asked for a refund of one of the pillows the following day. At that stage they then informed us it's not their policy to take back pillows and so we could not have our money back. We should have been informed about this instore (we were comprehensively told about the no-refund policy with the mattress so why not the pillows?) - had I known this about the pillows I would not have spent £119 on each pillow. Please be aware if buying pillows, Furniture Village don't tell you this when buying. Very disappointed.

The salespeople are great
The salespeople are great! Just the right balance between “can I help you” and leaving you alone to browse in peace. Ordering was dead simple, although I wish there was a little less of the ‘I’ll do you a deal’ - after all the ‘deals’ it ended up exactly the same price as we’d got from the website! Now just waiting for the delivery part.

Excellent Service
Our in-store furniture (bed and mattress) purchase was made very simple and very straightforward. Excellent advice and support in making our choice from James who made the sale. The delivery was made within 2 weeks, which was very quick, and the delivery men (Matt and Saul) were excellent too, very courteous and helpful.
