Scams and bad customer service

Didnt receive my game was told it was lost in post and would replace but it was out of stock so sent me a standard version instead but they sent me the wrong version it was ps3 i needed ps4. Was told to send it back and they will replace it but once the game was sent back they would no reply back to my emails again bunch of scums. No game and £40+ spent do not buy from these people they are a bunch of scammers.

Fantastic customer service

So I'm like everyone else who waited all year to get the dragon age collectors edition and when it arrived was a mess!! Regardless of anything bad been said we all know this was bioware and the manufactures that made this mess not gamestop, I contacted them now it took a day to get a response but says that on the email but I got 3 choices and was super happy that even though this wasn't there fault they picked up the rubbish and dealt with it professionally.. Over all my experience was super and efficient and straight to the point, Will order again from these guys

Very bad customer service

Ordered Dragon age inquisition collectors. It had damage on the collectors editions chest. Multiple items inside were damaged too. I contacted them but after a week not a single response back! Do not use this company, it's simply not worth the hassle!

Suprise.............

Took advantage of the offer for the White Playstation, for the hassle I went through it wasnt worth saving £30 pounds, big mistake, Playstation arrived via rubbish couriers called UKMail, Controller arrived broken, packaging is rubbish, using shredded cardboard for padding, So I immediately sent an email to them, They hadnt replied to any of my previous emails regarding tracking numbers and as usual didnt reply to my new one regarding the controller and i even sent pictures. Next day i called them on my lunch break and the same woman always picks up, saying shes just seen my mail. if i didnt call she would never have picked it up, They send you a return form I sign it head to the post office the next day and send the controller, After wasting half my lunch break at the post office talking to ignorant old ladies, sent first class arrived 2 days later, signed for by someone called hawthorne, 9 days pass its now the 25th, Nothing, I sent 3 emails no reply, I call through and same lady picks up saying she will check theres nothing on the system, she emails me back an hour later saying she found the package, and she will dispatch a new controller, ive gone from 11th of november to 27th of november with no controller, I decided to buy another one from amazon and it arrived the same week on 14th because I knew Gamestop UK were a rubbish company who wil take 14 days to do anything and who hire a one person to work in the warehouse to save money. Customer service is non existent, they have one person working in the warehouse either that or they are incompetent. Claiming they never recieved my package, I sent it signed for by Royal Mail....its been sitting in your warehouse.....Avoid, Never going to use again............whoever the lady is its not your fault, you work for a rubbish company, Avoid....Pay the extra and get a reliable service from Amazon.....

An appalling experience, I cannot even regard them as trustworthy.

Firstly, may I just say that I'm not the type to just rant on a review site about bad experiences with companies, more often than not any review I may give tends to be when I get good or great service. However, for this case I need to make an exception.

I pre-ordered the Dragon Age: Inquisition Collector's Edition for PS4. 5 days before release, the money was taken out of my bank account and everything seemed fine. They state that funds are debited from your account at time of shipping, so I became slightly concerned that 4 days later, the evening before release day, that I still hadn't received an invoice or shipping notification.
So I fired off a quick E-Mail just to ask if there were any problems, I wasn't going to be particularly outraged if I didn't get it on release day anyway, but as long it was going through the system that's all that mattered.
Release day came and went, I received no communications at all, no response to my E-Mail. Customer services were closed throughout the weekend, so I could only leave a voicemail, which I did.
Monday arrived and tried to call customer services, I still had not received any communication from them. Bear in mind, this is a week since they took my money and seemingly had done nothing with it.
I tried calling several times in the morning, only to be left to the answer phone again and again. Eventually in the afternoon I managed to speak to someone, who said it was due to be shipped that day.
By the next afternoon, I STILL had not heard anything - No invoice, no shipping notification, no response to several voicemails or e-mails.
So finally, I managed to get through to someone. They went 'off the warehouse' to check up on my order - When the lady on the phone got back to me she sounded incredibly whispy, like she wasn't interested in speaking to me, and basically didn't have an excuse why nothing had happened with my order. She mumbled (and I mean mumbled) something about sticky labels, but in the end she said 'basically it's just been sat there. Sorry about that'.
I finally got a shipping notification last night, so lets hope that is the end of the story. Though I will report back if not.

I can understand busy times, and I can understand that not every order will be perfectly fulfilled, especially with pre-orders. But the fact I received no communication at all from them, and their customer service was so totally un-responsive to the extent it was like being actively avoided, was absolutely outrageous. I believe had I not called them repeatedly, I wouldn't have heard from them and my order would still be 'sat there'.

I cannot recommend this company. My service is beyond poor, and taking money (£140 of it) without doing anything about my order until a week later, only because I applied pressure, is basically dodgy practise, and for that reason I can't and wouldn't recommend them as a trustworthy company.

It's a shame, because other people seem to have had positive service, but If I can fall through the net this badly, you have to wonder how they run their business.

Appalling, please avoid.

fast shipping, good packaging, fast problem solving.

I bought a dragon age inquisition inquisitor's edition from gamestop and was very happy with the way it was handled. Payment was taken, item arrived early! and the packaging was great. There was damage internally to a couple of pieces, not the fault of gamestop just a bit of poor design on the product packaging. Gamestop offered, an instant refund and I could keep the item, a partial refund for sending the damaged item back and keeping the game or a full refund. Can not complain about the service it was excellent.

bad communication - good customer service

I pre ordered an item a few months in advance and it got delayed. I later emailed to check the release date as Gamestop had the 21/11/14 and Google had 18/11/2014 Turns out it was to do with region but i didn't get an email back regarding this.

Then the release date came and went and i didn't receive anything nor was i charged for the product, i sent another email and after two days got fed up waiting for a response as i was anxious to get the game weather from here or elsewhere, I called and was told that my Paypal had been declined due to me losing the card and getting a new one,

They took my card details and shipped the item the same day and upgraded me to express delivery due to the problems.

Wrong CD, Awful Quality

Ordered collector's edition of game that came with physcial items. Game itself was wrong copy (standard not collector's as described). When I phoned and asked about the missing content they claimed it was never included and they have removed the page from their website so I cannot claim otherwise! To make it worse some of the physical items are of terrible quality (bits keep breaking off). A few things are alright but even then it is clearly not worth the money I've spent on it. Will never order from them again.

Sent the wrong item, removed it from their store and claimed it never existed!

Gamespot sent the wrong edition of the game in a Collector's Bundle. When I realised and asked for the missing content they blamed the manufacturer and then claimed the content was never included. I checked and they had removed the CE from their store! (but people on the internet have cahces and screenshots) to support their 'claim'. They refuse outright to help and got very annoyed at ME on the phone like I was the one inconviencing them!
Oh, they had also previous lied to me in an email but that seems like small fry now. Contacted EA who of course tell me to get the seller to send out the right item. Which Gamestop won't, typical.
Don't go near them.

A GameStop of two halves

Had two orders one not shipped, I left 10+ messages and emailed numerous times with no response and my trade-ins had not been refunded. Two month later no progress- they're as bad as it gets.

Then I tweeted them about my frustration and Laura on the CS team was great and solved all my issues very promptly.

So not recommended at all, unless you speak to Laura!!

Reliable honest service

Do not be fooled by the people who try to give Gamestop a bad reputation.

I once had a wrong delivery and although it took a few days to sort out, the most important thing is thats exactly what they did. On other occasions its been standard faultless 5* service.

Postal problems can happen anytime, if your gonna point the blame, then do so to Royal Mail, the theives lost my item I sent and then when compensation was only £20 they didn't even honour that! rotten bas**rds!!!

Keep it going strong Gamestop!!!

online can be a pitfall but when something went wrong gamstop - stepped up

i pre ordred fifa 15 and took up the trade in 2 xbox one games - sent them as directed but sadly no game turned up and i was charged 41.00 not 1.89 i had signed up for resulting in a bank charge and haveing to go out to a packed game store and buy a physical copy of fifa for a present. i emaled gamestop and after emails and failed attempts on the phone. i spoke with one of there team and they apoligised and have now replaced the game and sending the value back of the games i traded in. sadly things do go wrong but thingsa happen and gamestop stepped up and did not look to blame anyone they looked how they could resolve this quickly. all in all if i had got my game as i did this morning as agreed on fri great service. any issues call there team they are very helpfull and look to resolve things when things go wrong.

Very good customer service

Recently had a payment issue which was resolved within 1 day. I was even given a free upgrade to express shipping, which was great.

Other orders have had a very speedy service and prices are often the cheapest online.

Problem sorted quickly by very helpful staff. Would use again.

I've used Gamestop a few times and never had a problem so felt confident in placing an order containing three pre - orders. The first arrived at release but the second failed to arrive. I contacted Gamestop customer services three days after release and received a call back the same day. The issue was resolved quickly and by a very friendly and helpful person. Although the game was eventually received a week after release, I was happy with the speedy resolution and the professionalism of the staff. I also received the limited edition of the game which was a great touch. Thanks Gamestop.

AWFUL...

My story goes like this. I send two trade in games for assassin's creed and for the next 2-3 months I get no replies back from any ticket I sent in until I use Facebook. (WTF?) Then they say they aren't doing trade in's until late October as the game isn't coming out for awhile so I wait again...then I ask them on the 23th and they have apparently only received one copy, I tell them I ordered two parcels but only received one and used one from my previous trade. They then replied that they still haven't found it and that it's a problem on my end. As you can imagine I couldn't be bothered for this any longer so I asked to cancel my order. Immediately they replied back (All of the time before that it'd always been 1 reply then a day later to reply to me) Saying they've found the order and everything's good.
So that's great right? Nope. Apparently it's too late as they've already cancelled the order and the trade in's have been sent back to me.

So i asked to cancel the order then got a immediate reply back asking if im sure i wanted to cancel it....I said yes and waited another day just to get a lame reply back as "cancelled" .....These guys are morons!


by the way this is the way they speak to you on text....Unprofessional as hell

Non-existent customer service

Definitely the most blood boiling customer service I have ever received, or rather not received. With GameStopUK, customer service is non-existent. I had a terrible experience with pre-ordering FIFA 15, and judging by other tweets, i wasn't anywhere near being the only one to experience their terrible service. My order for FIFA 15 shipped on the 24th of September in standard delivery, the game officially released on the 26th and i did not receive it. Not only did not receive it then, but i did not receive it the following day (Saturday) either, and now a couple weeks later, still nothing. I was finally notified on the 14th of October (Yes a full 2 & a half weeks to reply) that the order had indeed been misplaced by Royal Mail and i was offered a second copy shipped via express delivery which i agreed to, but still i was very much frustrated at GamestopUK for being completely ignored between then and those 2 and a half weeks. I did not receive any reply to my emails, or tweets to their twitter, i even tried to contact them via telephone, but it seems they advertise false contact details on their website as their numbers were either wrong and directs you to 118 directory, or they're just plain not in use.

I'm wondering how a company of Gamestop's stature can act like this and offer next to no customer service, I wonder if the US Gamestop is aware of their UK counterparts smearing their reputation? I am very lucky to have paid via PayPal because now i have an ongoing dispute which GamestopUK typically haven't replied to, and if they don't reply by the 19th I get an automatic refund. Of course, as i have stated, they have finally replied to one of my emails, offering to reship another copy of FIFA 15 via express delivery, so i will wait on this before cancelling the PayPal dispute just to be safe.

This is the last time i purchase anything from GamestopUK, I only did so this time due to previous experience of having no issue when purchasing a PS4 from them, and because their prices are very low. But now i realise that you receieve the service you pay for. Next time I'll just stick to Amazon even if that means coughing up a few extra bucks for good service, I'll actually appreciate paying more. I suggest you look elsewhere too, do not purchase anything from GamestopUK unless you enjoy throwing away money, and if that's the case i suggest you visit a strip club instead as they are more deserving of your money than GameStopUK
