They are excellent. The experience is frictionless. They are very supportive. I worked through another umbrella company before joining Giant and the experience is night and day. My 100% recommendation is stop looking around and just go with Giant. You can then concentrate on succeeding in your day job.

Utterly awful , I’ve left Giant ( contractor) so used their umbrella payroll. Two months of constant emails, yes used their portal I am still in a weekly bases chasing for my P45! All they do is dish out excuses!

I raised a query re the tax treatment of some expenses and the team were quick to respond. Hayley was very helpful and kept me informed and the matter was quickly resolved to my satisfaction so thanks again.

The process was efficient, and I found Nazmul and the staff very helpful.

I would not recommend Giant based on my experience.

One of my biggest concerns was the way expenses were handled. As an agency worker covering a large geographical area, travel costs are a significant part of the role. However, I found the process for claiming expenses confusing and restrictive, and it often felt as though legitimate work-related expenses were being taxed in a way that made claiming them hardly worthwhile.

Communication was also a major issue. I repeatedly raised concerns regarding my Student Finance deductions after noticing payments had been taken from my wages, yet I was unable to obtain a satisfactory response about where those deductions had gone. Despite multiple requests, this issue remains unresolved.

I also made it clear from the outset that I did not wish to participate in a pension salary sacrifice scheme. During onboarding, I stated this preference, and I repeated it several times over the following weeks, including in writing. Despite this, I was enrolled anyway. When I later closed my pension account and requested clarification regarding ongoing deductions and a refund, I received little to no meaningful communication.

Throughout my time with Giant, I found responses to queries slow or non-existent, particularly when the issue related to payroll deductions or pension contributions. This created unnecessary stress and left me feeling unsupported.

I have since moved to a PAYE arrangement directly through my agency and have found the experience significantly clearer and more transparent. I know what I am being paid, I can easily understand my deductions, and when I have questions, they are answered.

In my opinion, the umbrella company model lacks transparency, particularly around deductions, expenses, and holiday pay arrangements. My experience with Giant has left me feeling frustrated and disappointed, and I would not choose to use their services again.

Saba was professional, attentive, and supportive throughout the onboarding process—a very pleasant experience.

Alma was great and the process very quick and straightforward.

It was a pleasant experience with them. There might have been a weak connection with the call, I might suggest slowing down a bit with the tempo of the speech. Otherwise, the agent was pleasant enough.
