Great service from the start. After a few bad experiences from different garages I bought my car from Glenfield. What a difference! An honest car dealer at last, kept his word and nothing is a bother.... See more

Mazda RX-7, 85k miles
I knew that the car I picked is known for having some common faults and it was high mileage, but I like those cars and knew exactly what I was in for, it took about 9 days for Glenfield to get it ready after 6 issues were flagged by the MOT and a couple of advisories.
To their credit, Glenfield advised me correctly about the model and common faults when I first visited to see it.
The car is running fine even after a month and a few long trips.
Toyota RAV4 and trade in
Booked a test drive after speaking on the phone with them about a different car and it came about they had a Toyota instead as the other car(Kia) just had a deposit put in and the Toyota just arrived. I drove the car before they prepped it for MOT(they include a year with the purchase) and noticed a few issues, so they took the car to the garage afterwards and lifted it up in the ramp, the drop links in the front needed replaces and a suspension wishbone had a lot of play.
I put down a deposit and waited 3 days for the car to be fixed and go to the MOT, picked it up just in time for a trip down south, 400 miles later the car is still working perfect. They also gave me a fair price for my trade in.
Great experience lovely salesman
I bought a 2013 corsa with 120k miles around a month ago, I assumed the car would run okay and they would put it out as is but no; Glenfields still took the car through its mot and fixed every problem they could find on it I was over the moon with the service. After 2 weeks I noticed a strange noise from the steering wheel, Glenfields asked me to bring thr car down for an inspection. They told me it may be a steering rack and asked me to leave the car for a couple days. I needed a car to get back and forth from work and they more than happily gave me a courtesy car for the time being. Since I’ve had my car back it’s been perfect can’t recommend these guys enough!
If I could give this Garage 0 stars I…
If I could give this Garage 0 stars I would. Bought a renault megane estate from here while 5 months pregnant in march 2022 and had nothing but issues with it from the get go. First there was only one working Key which they had promised to fix the spare one before my dad came to collect it and drive it to Liverpool to where I live but when he turned up the key still wasn't working ( I even called before he went to collect it to make sure it had been fixed to which they assured me it had) They told my dad that next time I was back in Scotland they would sort the spare key so that he could drive it down for me that day. Next problem was when I was driving back to Scotland to visit family with my 8 week old baby to realise that there was no air con in the car on a hot summers day. I was 30 minutes into my journey when I had to turn back as I couldn't travel in the car on a hot summers day with a young baby. I called the garage to explain this issue and that wouldn't be able to drive up to get the key fixed when a man called James laughed at me and said that I should of used my air con before now to see if it was working. I told him I hadn't needed to use my aircon up until that point. When I got it checked it had no cooling fluid in it to produce air con at all. Since I bought this car 2 years ago I've spent around another £2000 on it. It has needed new brakes, the handbrake replaced, an oil change and now a new clutch fitted. I took out an extra warranty only to be told that it didn't cover what I needed fixed which was another £300 down the drain. Please if you want a good second hand car avoid this garage. Complete and utter cowboys and disgusting they sold a heavily pregnant women such a shocking car.
VW Polo - No issues.
Got my Polo after test drive, comes with a full year MOT and drives well. Nice folks to deal with
Overall be careful
Overall be careful. I see the owner at car auctions regularly. My car was accident damaged previously. So get an inspection before buying.
No paperwork with car - chased with garage but fobbed off
Bought a Nissan Leaf from this garage in Sep 2023, the car is still fine, no issues with it. What has been disappointing is that I never received the relevant paperwork with the car apart from the invoice. After chasing the garage for 3 months, and having numerous promises of getting the log book signed over, I got in touch with the DVLA, who have instructed me on how to move forward with this. It's came at a cost to me to sort it out. If you're buying from here, would be best to make sure you get the paperwork with the car. It was really disappointing and additional stress that was not needed. If the garage had just been honest in the first place and said they didn't have the log book, I would have appreciated that more than continuously being fobbed off, with no returning phone calls or further contact from them, which doesn't make you feel like a valued customer. Hopefully future customers have a better experience than me.
Amazing aftercare from Glenfield cars!
Amazing aftercare from Glenfield cars!
I brought a wee VW polo back in August of this year, a decision I made when I grew tired of my last car having one serious breakdown after another!
I started working for the NHS as a mental health/addictions support worker in March and because I have patients in my car a reliable vehicle is crucial to my role. My case load has grown and I have lots of vulnerable people who depend on me daily to be able to respond quickly throughout the entirety of my council area.
I actually struggled myself with heroin addiction for nearly 17years. When I finally got clean I threw myself into allsorts of community stuff, running meetings for others still struggling and a mens group. It was through that work that I was asked to apply for this role by my now boss. When I was successful in landing the job it was an absolute dream come true and being able to afford a wee tidy Polo was the icing on cake.
I am only recently back on the road, I had to fight to win my licence back and prove to the DVLA that I had completely changed my life. The car was almost symbolic of all the hard work in those previous years.
Three weeks after sale it became apparent that it needed a new water pump and Brian from Glenfied arranged for me to take the car straight back to them and carried out that work without hesitation!
Then....
Two weeks ago my worst nightmare came true. The car failed suddenly on a busy carriageway. The oil pressure warning light came on and the dash told me to stop driving. There was smoke coming from my bonnet and when I opened it up it looked like an oil bomb had went off. There was engine oil everywhere and huge puddles underneath the vehicle.
At the time it really did not look good and I was thinking "Iv had this car around 70days and its had it. Its actually deed"!
I activated the breakdown cover that came with my warranty and it was towed to a local garage where a crankshaft issue was suspected. They eventually identified that the timing belt pulley had failed and would need replacing, along with the timing belt itself.
The estimated cost of repairs was just shy of four digits.
I rang Glenfied simply for advice when dealing with the warranty company and Brain could not have been more helpful.
He stayed in touch with me and looked for solutions. This morning he rang me to say the invoice of repairs had been paid in full! I was mind-blown! When I rang the repairing garage they too said "the fella who paid your bill sounded really honest and helpful".
These things matter. That bill would have made things really difficult until well after Xmas and life would have been pretty miserable. Thats not the way a new cars meant to make you feel. I cannot thank Brian and the guys enough for making sure that was not the case!
At no time did it ever feel like Glenfield just didn't want the hassle or would abandon me on this issue.
Cars break, that's life. No matter how well I look after my vehicle things will go wrong, and I will need to spend money fixing them. I understand that. I just didn't expect it so soon after purchase and I am entirely grateful to Brian and the Glenfield team for looking after me here!
If this is my experience then I have no doubt they look after ALL their customers in the same way!
When it's time for new wheels in 2/3years I will definitely be coming down to see what's sitting in your forecourt first.
Thank you!
Racist organistion
I rang in to speak to Brian, the representative on the phone called Brian and said 'there's some p**i on the phone', not even bothering to mute the phone! I responded by saying I won't be doing business with any racist organisations to which his response was 'no problem' Disgusting behaviour which isn't acceptable! The cars on site aren't any better than their attitude. All cars need work, bunch of scammers.
I have gone to glenfield motors for my…Mitsubishi outlander and love it.
I have gone to glenfield motors for my last 5 cars and never had any trouble with any of them,I would highly recommend Brian and his team, the last twice I was looking at there webpage and both cars I was interested in was already sold but Brian told me had the same type cars coming in if I wanted a look at them and low and behold I had bought them both at separate times of course. Also I find them to be very fair when you are part exchanging your own car.I find Brin and his team very good at helping you with your road tax also so you are ready to go.May I also add that my dad has been shopping with Brian and his team for many years before myself and also wouldn't go elsewhere either and never had any bother with his purchases also. All I can say really is Best customer service and Experience buying a car, with the guys all being friendly and honest so Thank You again.
Untrustworthy and aggressive
Caveat Emptor. If you are unlucky enough to find yourself at this dealership turn around and go somewhere else. I purchased a Skoda Octavia, which on the face of it was great value, only for it to have had a previous life as a taxi. The sales staff denied this but tripped themselves upon in later conversations. Having had the car checked out by my usual mechanic several issues were pointed out that Glenfield had supposedly rectified by their "trained" technicians. The work they carried out, replacing the timing belt, caused further issues. I gave them the benefit of the doubt, returned the car, and they promised to fix the problem. Having been promised that the work would be carried out by their most experienced mechanic asap by the General Manager, a week later nothing had been done, and promised updates never materialised.
I eventually decided to return the car, as it was within the 30 days legal period, and arranged a date. I returned the car as promised only to face a refusal of a refund and a torrent of verbal abuse and aggressive behaviour by the other manager when I asked for an additional refund of the lost road tax and insurance cancellation fee. This amounted to a total of £75, This individual refused to refund the money and threatened to physically remove me from the sales office for asking for this but, mainly due to his weak nature, empty threats and over inflated opinion of his physical prowess, he backed down like challenged bullies usually do. I asked him to call the Police but he failed to do this as he was clearly in the wrong.
Thankfully after I returned from collecting various personal items from the car, which was still in the workshop, I returned to the sales office and was refunded the cost of the car and the warranty (they are very keen to push this useless policy), but not the loss caused by the insurance and road tax cancellation. Thankfully the more reasonable General Manager did this without issue and rolled his eyes, as did the workshop manager who witnessed the aggression, when I commented on the unacceptable behaviour of his business partner.
Overall if you plan to buy a car from this company be very careful. Be confident of all of your legal rights and do not be intimidated by this rude, unprofessional and aggressive business owner if things go wrong. Above all else takes notes of your interactions and perhaps record the conversations, as I did, should you chose to take further action as I am considering at present.
A+ service.
Can't fault them tbh, picked car up works a treat. Tracking seems off, phoned them and they said bring it in and they'll look and fix it. Highly recommend
Guys seem brand new and easy to chat with.
Good service from decent blokes
After trying some of the bigger car dealerships, I was looking for more personal service. Exactly what I got from Glenfield Cars, Brian and John were genuine, decent blokes who did a good job. Bought my wife's car a week later and same story. Very happy to report a garage that's worth doing business with and no hesitation in recommending them.

Needed a reliable car at a good price…
Needed a reliable car at a good price and urgently they delivered on service and product. Will definitely be using Glenfields again.
A very stressful way to buy a car.
Having traveled a long way to buy the car they didn’t so much as walk out to the vehicle with me to familiarise me with the car. Had they taken me through the vehicle and it’s contents I might have noticed the missing luggage compartment cover or the missing mobility system or even the absence of any stamps in the log book. Still can’t find out if it’s been serviced. Log book not stamped and last documented service history two years ago. Within six weeks the car had broken down leaving me to pay for recovery. Dealer blamed wear and tear. Buying a car can be a very stressful experience and buying from this dealer you should be aware that anything you don’t spot, they won’t tell you.
Do NOT buy a car here!
Do NOT buy a car here! I had absolutely nothing but trouble with first car, more time In getting repairs than out , eventually gave me a refund. Gave them a second chance and second car just as bad but this time £500 warranty they sold me not covering costs of repairs needed ….had the car 4 months….so disappointed and lost so much time and earnings being without a car ….never again!
Happy to recommend this company

Bought a Jaguar from Glenfield Cars June 2021, but within a couple of weeks a part failed and they asked us to deliver the car to a garage in Motherwell. However, they were unable to rectify the issue immediately as the part was unavailable although the car was still usable, but after some months they managed to source the part and repair the car. Despite this taking a number of months to rectify Glenfields agreed to refund the cost of repairs as the fault happened within couple of weeks of purchase. Glenfields were very fair in dealing with us all through the process and we are quite happy to recommend them for your next vehicle purchase.
