My favourite part was the teaching, I was anxious on the first day, but that went by the second day. I thought I would be totally out of my depth but the support from Gotoco was amazing and I was well prepared which gave me more confidence. When working with the teachers on our last teaching day I expected this to be the hardest lesson, but I did a lot more planning and had lots of back-up ideas depending on the teachers language ability and this one went really successfully, which goes to show how vital it is to plan lessons in advance. The students were fantastic and it was a real pleasure supporting them in their learning and it helped me to understand teaching a foreign language and give me some more scope to understanding the TEFL training and actually putting it into practice.
We stayed in quite a small town which was in a rural area and it was not set up for tourists, in that there were few restaurants, no souvenirs and English signage, which made it really nice and a truly authentic taste of what life was like for local residents. I have not really experienced anything like this within my travels as most holiday destinations are geared up towards tourism. We got quite a lot of attention from the locals as they were not used to tourists which was interesting. Eating, going out and shopping like the locals was a fun experience, the food is amazing and I ate everything and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. I have eaten in Thai restaurants before, but this authentic food from markets and in local restaurants and food establishments was a genuine experience of local food as apposed to English-Thai takeaway food.
I had an amazing time on excursions in Ayutthaya, Utahi Thani and Bangkok, organised by our group leaders and also some things I had organised myself. Every experience was something new and there are plenty of things to experience, from food and markets, to modes of transport and temples galore. We also had a boat trip and a morning where we hired bicycles which were things that I didn't know were factored in to our stay. I was amazed by the temples, each very individual and unique, I was in aw when entering some of the beautiful buildings and shocked by the size of the Buddha. The people take really good care of the temples, both old ruins and more modern temples and you can see people are proud to have these vast monuments and respect them and utilize them. It was nice to see Thai tourists as well as non-Thai tourists enjoying these splendors and taking time to appreciate their history and significance to local people.
I really enjoyed our brief but fun-filled time in Bangkok, so I had the opportunity to experience a quiet culture in Uthai Thani and well as the hustle bustle of busy Bangkok for our final days in the midst of the city in China Town. Once again, our group leaders used their experience and knowledge to pick and recommend delightful eateries and gave us the best opportunities to explore together as a group and well as individually to make the most of our time. I really enjoyed every minute of my time in Thailand, it was more than I could have ever expected.

I had a wonderful experience with Gotoco in Thailand. The programme provided excellent TEFL training, practical teaching experience and the opportunity to immerse myself in Thai culture.

Before joining, I was nervous about teaching, but the support from the trainers and staff helped me gain confidence quickly. Teaching local students was the highlight of the programme and gave me valuable real-world classroom experience.

I met amazing people from different countries, learned new skills and created memories that will stay with me for a lifetime. The 120-hour TEFL certification and hands-on teaching practice have been a great addition to my CV and future career opportunities.

I would highly recommend Gotoco to anyone looking for an adventure, cultural exchange and meaningful teaching experience abroad.

I would highly recommend this programme because it provides a unique opportunity to develop both personally and professionally while making a meaningful impact. The combination of teaching, cultural immersion, and working alongside people from different backgrounds creates an experience that is both rewarding and memorable.

The programme also demonstrated that I am willing to step outside my comfort zone, take on new challenges, and work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds. As someone currently working as a Health Advisor for the London Ambulance Service and aspiring to study Diagnostic Radiography, I feel this experience has strengthened both my personal development and my future career prospects.

I’m currently part of the Thailand cohort from 4 June 2026 to 18 June 2026 and I’m already loving every moment!

The staff are fantastic; Morgan, Aaron, George, and Leyu have all been incredibly welcoming and supportive. You can genuinely tell they love what they do and I can’t thank them enough for going above and beyond to help me and the other students.

The other students also been amazing, creating a warm, friendly, and supportive atmosphere from day one, especially Max!

The programme has been very well planned so far and I’ve already learned so much about Thailand. I’m looking forward to the teaching sessions starting on Tuesday and will be sure to share more of my experience as the programme continues

Teaching was absolutely freaking amazing!!!
I probably enjoyed it more than the kids hahah 🤪 the kids did enjoy it too 😁

The kids and staff were a ⭐ you can tell the Thai teachers had passion for teaching.

Some improvements:
- Allow more Muslims to join in each cohort
- provide more opportunities for halal food
- Improve communication and time management.

my experience with gotoco was absolutely great! i recently attended their two week programme in thailand and the experience i had was like no other. the teaching was such a great learning experience and gained so many new skills from and we had plenty of free time to do what ever we wanted! As well as free time we had organised activities which made sure we saw really great places. Overall absolutely no complaints was such a great company and programme to be on.

I had an excellent experience with Further Afield and Gotoco in Thailand. The programme was well organised, the support from the coordinators was outstanding and the opportunity to teach English while experiencing Thai culture was incredibly rewarding. I particularly enjoyed working with the students, collaborating with other volunteers and developing my communication and leadership skills in a completely new environment. The cultural activities were also a highlight and helped me gain a deeper appreciation of Thailand. I would highly recommend the programme to anyone looking for personal growth, cultural immersion, and a meaningful international experience.

I was part of the 2 week Thai teaching experience from from the 15th April until the 30th April. It was an incredible once in a life time experience where we were able to visit parts of Thailand that you wouldn't usually go to if you were backpacking. The teaching aspect was very rewarding and all the different groups we taught were extremely grateful.

I had an amazing experience teaching in Thailand and would highly recommend this programme. The placement was well organised, supportive, and a great balance of teaching and cultural immersion. Teaching the students was incredibly rewarding and helped build my confidence and teaching skills in a completely different environment.

An incredible fully immersive cultural experience from start to finish. An unforgettable educational process expertly brought together and run by a lovely set of people offering you full support throughout. If that wasn't enough, they also treat you to a whole host of local cultural cuisines, activities and visits to world heritage sites!

It was a great experience to be part of this programme. I’ve been to Spain for two weeks and they provided local transport from and to airport, food, accommodation for the whole programme period plus the two night in Madrid. There was a little bit of lacking in communication at som point which was amended along the run. Overall it was an amazing experience.

Incredible and amazing company and definitely not a scam like I originally thought hahaha. (Seemed to good to be true) I went out to Vietnam for 2 weeks and it was the most amazing time of my life. I’m actually quitting mu job and moving back out to Vietnam in 1 months time! Hahaha

Whether you’re considering teaching overseas or just want to try something new, I can’t recommend Gotoco enough. The whole process was pretty straightforward and made something that could feel quite daunting feel much more manageable. Overall, a great way to gain teaching experience while also travelling and meeting people from different backgrounds.

I had a really positive experience with GoToCo in Thailand. The programme helped build my confidence, especially through teaching in schools and stepping out of my comfort zone. I was nervous before going, but everyone was very welcoming and supportive.
I also enjoyed the cultural activities, visiting temples, and meeting new people. The local hosts were amazing and always made sure we were looked after. Overall, it was a memorable experience that helped me grow in confidence, and I would definitely recommend it to others.

Just interacting with students in the school and making friends outside of it was a highlight. Experiencing a completely different way of life while still doing something productive was really valuable. Socially, it helped me become more open, and I found people in Thailand much more welcoming and friendly compared to the UK, where people tend to be more private. Everyone was open to getting to know you and made you feel comfortable. It’s something everyone should experience at least once in their life.

I would definitely recommend it to a friend. It gives you the chance to step into real-world teaching without prior experience, while still having professional support. It’s a unique opportunity that builds skills and confidence that will be useful in many areas going forward.

The experience has benefitted me a lot. It’s opened my eyes to the world, made me feel more independent, and given me the confidence that I could do something like this on my own again in the future.

Overall, I really enjoyed getting to know the people on the programme and learning more about Thailand’s history. Even though it was something completely new to me, I felt welcomed and comfortable throughout

My experience with Go-to-co was incredible. I was fortunate enough to spend 2 weeks teaching in Vietnam. This opportunity allowed me to grow as a person and meet some awesome people.

It's a once in a lifetime opportunity and if you are ever in the position to be able to take up such an opportunity it would be foolish to pass it up. Travel, alternate careers and other cultures always teach us so much about ourselves, it's a great chance to learn and grow - no matter how old you are.

Exciting opportunity, and would certainly recommend, however not for those who are interested in a more traditional teaching experience.

I had an amazing 6 months with Gotoco in Kerala, India. I got to experience an amazing culture, meet fantastic people and eat incredibly delicious food- what more could you want?!
