My experience with Gotoco in Thailand was amazing. I got to experience so many different things and learn more about Thai culture whilst teaching. I would 100% recommend!!

I had an incredible experience with GOTOCO, both at my summer camp placement, where I gained as much from the children in confidence and experience as I could ever have imagined, but also in the friendships and experiences at the after-camp trip in Yangshuo. It was a wonderful opportunity to explore China, and something I would not have undertaken without GOTOCO!

Incredible opportunities with lots of support. A fantastic way of experiencing another culture

This was really fulfilling as an experience - I learnt so much about teaching and gained loads of confidence, made many new friends, and got to learn about and live in an entirely different country from the UK. It was an intense schedule but entirely manageable, and the end-of-programme trip involved many fun activities, the highlight being white water rafting

There was sufficient funding and organisation to make the trip a truly immersive cultural experience whilst also helping one gain soft skills used for teaching and practical work in the field.

I had a brilliant time teaching in China - very well organised and a brilliant way to experience the country.

This course was an excellent way to prepare me for teaching abroad. The TEFL course was funded, and I got the experience to teach abroad. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a big change in their life

It was an overall cool experience where I made lots of friends, saw many beautiful parts of china and got to have real world teaching experience with the support of the gotoco team. Although I struggled a bit with the teaching as we didn’t receive a lot of training beforehand. However, I think I got the hang of it through help from the coordinators and other participants.
It definitely teaches you to be more independent as a leader for young kids and independent as a young adult. You also learn how to be more flexible and how to deal with unprecedented circumstances. I wouldn’t recommend it to people who get stressed easily and aren’t comfortable going with the flow as you will be put in many situations without a lot of prior notice.
Despite all that I definitely don’t regret going and am very grateful for the opportunity to see China and have a unique and fun experience.

my experience on the China programme was incredible. you meet so many interesting people from all over and get to share the experience together. it's not just about teaching but completely immersing yourself in a new culture altogether. if you are looking for something to do over summer this is a really cheap way to have a super cool and unique experience!!!!!!

Incredible teaching experience in China

We explored remote and large cities within China. It was such a unique experience run by highly knowledgeable coordinators.

The teaching aspect was very rewarding, I learnt a lot about myself and about the teaching culture in China.

An experience I will not forget!

My experience with Gotoco in China was amazing! I had so much fun with all the other English teachers there and made so many new friends and the culture of China was so different but amazing to see.

The actual English teaching camps were so much fun as well, my classes were very well behaved and I had loads of fun teaching them and the kids had a lot of fun learning from me as well - they even gave me lots of little things to take home which was so sweet!

And the end of programme trip was so much fun, getting to do and see all those amazing things was just such a good way to end the trip!

When I first saw this program, I thought it was too good to be true. But it is real and it was amazing! I went on a summer program in China this summer and other than my flights there and any additional extras, everything was funded for me. I had a wonderful time overall; getting to see parts of China I wouldn't otherwise have experienced was incredible, the time teaching, whilst tiring at points, was incredibly rewarding, and getting to spend so much time with the other participants and getting to know and have fun with all of them was always fun and entertaining. I would recommend the program to anyone with an interest in teaching or just a love of volunteering and traveling!

If you have free time in the summer I would suggest you do this program, you won’t regret it. This made my summer truly special, I fell in love with China; the food, culture and people. The teaching and the challenges faced made me grow as a person and gave me valuable skills that I will use in my future career. I am glad to have learnt now in a relaxed environment full of support. Also I met some amazing fellow participants which I am still in contact with after the program, made memories that will last a lifetime.

I promise this isn't a scam, bahhah. Even though the website seems sketchy and it is all seems too good to be true. I've been with Gotoco twice now and it has been a great experience. I've gotten to meet really cool people, and explore new places while also gaining teaching experience. The coordinators were really nice and helpful, the schools were good and accommodation was great. It is all pretty well done. The TEFL qualification is also very useful for future career options. I definitely recommend it!

I really enjoyed my experience teaching with Gotoco in China this summer. The programme was well organised and I personally found the teaching very rewarding. I was teaching 15-16 year olds in China, planning the classes was challenging but stimulating and we also enjoyed activities such as a fashion show and fruit salad making. The experience definitely improved my confidence, leadership and public speaking skills and ability to travel abroad. Additionally, the programme offered a trip in Yangshuo after the teaching which involved lots of outdoor activities and was very fun!

Helpful staff who were with you or in contact with you throughout the entirety of the program. The program itself was enriched with exciting surprises and great opportunities for young people, such as myself to, build important skills such as leadership and management! Really worth it!

Overall I had a great time on my programmes with Gotoco. I was assigned the angloville programmes in Poland, and got to learn and experience things and places I never had before! Every international experience like this will come with unavoidable hiccups, but Gotoco and angloville dealt with everything well. The trip at the end was also an amazing highlight of this month with Gotoco.

Gotoco provided an amazing experience teaching English in rural Thailand. I was immersed in the local culture and expanded my global perspective and cultural awareness. Teaching young learners and seeing their progress was incredibly rewarding and I recommend this programme to anyone with a passion for education and learning.

I had a brilliant experience with Gotoco in Vietnam. The program was really well-organised, and I felt supported from start to finish. Teaching in local schools was both rewarding and eye-opening—I gained so much confidence and learned to adapt quickly to new situations. I also made great friends through the program and had the chance to really immerse myself in Vietnamese culture, from the food to the festivals. Overall, it was a challenging but unforgettable experience that’s helped me grow personally and professionally.

If you are considering teaching and living abroad, I cannot recommend gotoco enough!

Gotoco offers a wide range of programmes in different cities across Vietnam, so there is something for everyone.

As for my placement, I volunteered as a kindergarten teacher in Ho Chi Minh City. This placement has helped me gain new skills, qualifications, friends and all while living in a new country.

The placement enabled me to connect with the kids, local people and culture in a way that is not possible through short and rushed trips. I have been the kind to cram as much as possible in a small trip but this experience made me aware of more impactful ways of travelling and connecting with people and cultures.

This programme has made me see that there is a host of opportunities around the world, beyond the conventional career routes.

So for me, Gotoco has been more than a teaching and TEFL placement and I hope more young people could benefit from opportunities such as this.
