We had an incredible day at Go Ape Cockfosters in the Treetop Challenge
6 friends in our own wee group- Paula was the best instructor. She made the ‘training’ a lot of fun, was always around the course to give us encouragement when we (I) got a bit scared. Would highly recommend and I can’t wait to go back for Challenge Plus!!!

We went to Go Ape Cannock to.do the Treetop challenge for a family day out, Two adults and a 13 & 12 Yr old. We all thoroughly enjoyed it, and stepped out of our comfort zone. Some of the highropes were challenging, but still fun and the zipwires were ace! Aaron was our guide, and was brilliant. Very helpful and friendly, and made us all feel at ease. He explained all the safely rules well, and checked in on us a few times throught the course. Without his support it would of been a different experience. We would 100% reccomend this experience but we also reccoment wearing gloves!!! Our hands are very sore 🤣

Super fun day out, I went out on a first date here and it was great. We met this employee called Jordan and he was super nice and cool, always there to help. Tip: don’t wear your nicest jeans there if it’s raining or go for a first date if you’re afraid they’ll get the ick- but if theyre the right person they won’t

We had an absoluely fanastic team building experience for 19 ay the Chessington site. The team at Go Ape Chessington couldn't have done more for us, they were kind, thorough, efficient and very helpful. Our instructor Ben was brilliant, he was clear with his instruction, very entertaining, and extremely happy. Saying that, we couldn't fault a single member of the team. Well worth a visit!

I think it's far too expensive!
A family with just 1 child & a parent doing it
would costs over £70 it's a shame it's priced so high
I don't think it's worth the money.

We had an amazing time and the whole family did different levels of the Go Ape adventures. Would highly recommend, staff were really friendly and helpful. We went in this last Sunday 17th of August and just want to praise one staff member especially. PiP you were amazing when my little girl was struggling with the adventure+ course. Thank you for being so patient, keeping an eye on her throughout and looking after her when she was struggling at the end. Great fun x

Brilliant fun! Tree Top Challenge. Staff were friendly, helpful and appeared to care that we were both safe and having a good time. Supportive and encouraging when we got scared and made us feel great when we conquered our fears. My only gripe was that we had to pay for parking even though we had paid quite a lot already for the Experience.
Very disappointing and unsettling experience at Go Ape Cannock Chase
Our recent visit to Go Ape Cannock Chase was unfortunately marred by a deeply concerning incident involving a member of staff named Izzy.
During our time at the park, we witnessed Izzy shout at a minor who was clearly distressed and had requested help on three separate occasions after becoming stuck on the zip line.
Rather than offering the support and reassurance expected from someone in her position, Izzy displayed highly unprofessional and even threatening behaviour toward the child.
This kind of conduct is absolutely unacceptable, especially in an environment that caters to families and young participants.
When we raised our concerns with the team leader, we were alarmed to be told that Izzy has known issues with anger.
I found this incredibly troubling, if such behavioural issues are known, then she should not; in my opinion be working directly with children.
Soon after, the duty manager approached us to gather our account of the situation. While we appreciated him listening and offering vouchers to use at any of the 37 Go Ape locations as a gesture of goodwill, the incident had already left a very negative impression.
Although the child involved was not one of our own children, witnessing the event was extremely uncomfortable and upsetting.
For these reasons, we will not be returning to the Cannock Chase location and cannot, in good conscience, recommend it to other families. We hope Go Ape takes this feedback seriously and reviews its policies around staff suitability and conduct, especially when it comes to child safety and support.
On a more positive note, we would like to highlight Bromley, another member of staff, who was extremely helpful and polite throughout the day. It’s a shame that the overall experience was tainted by the behaviour of one individual, as Bromley's professionalism was a stark contrast.
Mallards Pike in The Forest of Dean is a great place to experience.
I am 72 quite fit, though not a gym frequenter. I wanted to see what this experience consisted of. I discovered that not all Go Ape locations provide the same experience. This one specialises in trees - appropriate considering the location.
My friend (aged 74) and I turned up with mixed emotions of excitement and trepidation. There were several of us in the time-allotted group. Amazingly, Rhys, who had greeted us at the cabin, had remembered everyone's name when it came to fitting us up with harnesses and running through what each of the attachments was for and how to apply them. He and his colleagues were tirelessly patient, cheerful and thorough.
The experience itself started with a very challenging Tarzan swing that went into a rope net. This had to be climbed in order to reach the platform. That was the TOUGH bit. I discovered that my legs were less powerful than my arms! (Will get that sorted immediately)
After that the treetop challenges became easier as you continued. There are Five courses each ends with a zip wire to the ground. That's when you can decide if you've had enough or want to go onto the next course. My friend valiantly completed the Third course (which is the longest) and then decided it was enough. I was up for the Fourth course which I consider to be the hardest and then I went onto the Fifth course which had another Tarzan swing and net at the end. I was grateful that they had provided the opportunity to avoid that and take the zip wire down, one stop before it.
Needless to say we took longer than most people - 4hours. However, the staff assured us that we were not causing them to work overtime and that they didn't 'close' until the last person was finished - me! 1.30 until 5.30, harness on to harness off.
Thanks so much all of you. You have given me something to shout about!
Pretty awful rules to be fair my son is 15 and can’t go around with his big sister and there friends who are 17 I even said I would sign him in as but no I need to go around with him.
They don't treat all bands equally. They 'll give high priority for yellow band ( the people who booked adventure plus) . I bought red band because I was with my 5 years old child. The instructor marked the finishing time on wristbands by pen and it's not clearly indicated and difficult to read. After 45 mins (it's supposed to be 1 hour)he said our session have been finished. Very disappointed.
We visited GoApe Thetford for the Tree Top Challenge with my daughter today. All staff were absolutely amazing, from the member of staff that greeted us, I didn’t see his name, to our lovely instructor Sidney who was incredibly helpful and kind. Thank you. We really appreciate you all.
I had a bit of a frustrating experience initially around a booking issue, and felt quite let down by the response I received at first.
That said, after raising it with the team, they took the time to come back to me, listen properly, and offer a resolution that felt fair and human.
Really appreciated the follow-up and the care shown – and it’s restored my confidence in the brand.
What an incredible day! Our party of 10 visited Go Ape on Sunday, a mix of seasoned zip-liners and nervous first-time fliers, and Vic and Ronan made it an experience we’ll never forget. Their perfect balance of fun banter and rock-solid professionalism put everyone at ease, from the teenagers to the almost-pensioners!
They were brilliant at encouraging the nervous ones while keeping the thrill alive for the confident climbers. Safety was always front and centre, but never in a way that killed the fun. We left with huge smiles, plenty of laughs, and memories that will last a lifetime.
If you’re thinking about Go Ape—ask for Vic and Ronan. They’re absolute legends! 🌳💚💪
I visited GoApe in Salcey Forest Northampton last Saturday and the experience was amazing, both for me and my 10Y son. I also must say that those young people who work there are fantastic.they know how to speak to kids, how to encourage them and make the whole experience fun and exciting, not scary cause it really can be for some.my son was a little scared on his first time on a zuip wire thing and the guy who was there made an amazing job explaining him how it works, that he is safe etc etc. He was superb patient. The next few attempts were super easy and my son said that the guy was great, he helped him and motivated him a lot 😊 in my opinion they are in the right place. Thank you so much! ❤️
Excellent sedgeway experience - Cam was extremely supportive and helpful with me whilst ensuring that the kids had a great experience.
Improvement would be to refine usage criteria. Eg make possible to pay for adult supervision, allow supervision from ground or any other option. It was a real shame that 2 very active 15 year olds could not experience the more advanced high ropes unless I went up. Realistically I would have thought that sending a 74 year old up there posed a much greater safety risk!!!!!!
But many thanks to staff who were extremely good and strived to maximise the experience for all.
We visited the Temple Newsam location & the staff were fantastic from beginning to end!
We were greeted by Spencer to get booked on & our wrist bands-he was so friendly & organised our booking (I’d missed one of the disclaimers but he was so polite about it)
Then we met Tom who just was so engaging & got the girls ready. 15yr old , 16yr old (birthday girl) & 18yr old ( I decided to sit this one out) ☺️
Then Tom showed them about & got them started on the tree top course.
We were lucky as it seemed a pretty quiet day.
Tom was just so good at keeping us parents informed where the group was going next & where we’d best see them to take photos ect.
The staff were always about if you needed them & they were always checking in or keeping the course tidy. We met Josh too who was super helpful too.
The girls had been before but quite a few yrs ago so it was so good to see them still enjoying GoApe.
Well done to the recruitment team for GoApe! You definitely take on the write staff for the job! 💯💯
The actual event was good…friendly staff and well organised.
The downside is the £3.95 booking fee which cannot be avoided…unless you turn up on the day and take a risk I asked what it was for and was told it is to cover website development, technical improvements etc.
These are central costs …which should be borne by the company, not the customer.
So it is a hidden and unavoidable ticket increase…14% in my case
Dishonest !
Went to one in Chelmsford, what a fantastic experience! We were a party of 5, we unfortunately had 2 people too scared to continue and was safely taken off and given a full refund on the 2 tickets. Which is amazing as you don’t know if it’s not someone’s cup of tea.
People complaining about the price have no idea about how a business is run. It’s a good price for the experience you get!
Staff 10/10 activity 10/10 safety 10/10.
Poor customer service
I called to check I could start an annual pass on an alternative day from date of purchase and they said this was possible, so I went ahead and bought the pass. I requested the alternative start date and this was declined. No allowances made, despite one of their representatives providing me with false information.
