I was so nervous as I have the core strength of a pea, but I had nothing to be nervous about...it was AMAZING. Our instructor Alex was fabulous. Seriously can't recommend this place enough

From arriving at the reception to receiving our certificate, the staff were amazing. They were friendly and great with all the participants. They were thorough on safety and everyone really helped when one member of our party was struggling, being very supportive empathetic and encouraging. Will definitely recommend to everyone.

Booked for a family day out. Had to cancel due to son not meeting criteria for the activity, asked for a refund they refused and said I can have a gift voucher, useless as my son doesn't meet the criteria so how can I redeem it? £140 WASTED because they refuse to give a refund. I booked 6 hours previous to ringing them and they still wouldn't refund. I am not happy this is not good customer service. Place must be that bad that it has to trap ppl in to using the services. No cancellation policy never heard of such sh#t in all my life 😕

Staff were extremely helpful when we went. The young girl Kaila on the reception desk was professional and reassuring when there was an issue with our vouchers. Fantastic service from start to finish. Kids loved their experience, all staff were friendly and professional.
Highly recommend.

We went for my son’s 21st Birthday and boy they did not disappoint.
Alex, who was our driving instructor/entertainer/safe-keeper/guide, did an amazing job at all of the aforementioned roles, plus many more.
He was funny, friendly and above all else, professional. He gave clear and concise instructions and when we were out on the ride, paid as much attention to the person right behind him as to the last person at the back.
This is the second time we have been to this location for the Segway activity, and we loved it as much as the first time, if not more.
The training at the beginning is meticulous in both safety and confidence of the rider. When Alex took us out on the Chase, he made sure to keep us and the other users (cyclists, joggers, small children & dogs) safe, without impeding our fun or safety.
Once you go through the forest over all the bumpy bits to really test out the suspension of the Segway, you then get the opportunity to really get some speed in on the open stretches.
This is a fantastic activity to do with friends and/or family and I would highly recommend Go Ape at Cannock Chase.
Big shout out to Alex and his ‘assistant’ Lee 🤣

Visited 22/07/23. Some of the staff were lovely. And go ape is a nice wooded area with beautiful scenery. Unfortunately our day was ruined. I paid for my son and my husband to do adventure plus. My son did amazing on the adventure course but has a fear of the zipline so he got down and went over to the adventure plus course but the staff refused him saying he wasn’t allowed because he didn’t do the zipline. He was fully capable of doing the course in the trees but was still told no. I’d of understood if doing the zipline was the only way to get to the area where the plus course was but no you could still get to it without the zipline. It doesn’t state anywhere on the website that the zipline has to be done to progress onto the adventure plus course (if it is then it isn’t visible anywhere that you’d find). My husband did the zipline but didn’t move on to the plus course because he felt it wasn’t fair due to our son not being allowed plus it would have upset our son seeing his dad being allowed on but not him. so we just went home. Wasn’t even able to get a refund of the difference between the courses. (Paying for adventure plus was £50 for my son and husband whereas just adventure would have just been £40). If we had known of this “rule” about the zipline then we would of just booked the regular adventure course. But instead we have wasted money because we wasn’t informed prior to booking nor does it say anywhere noticeable on the website. I feel it is unfair to not be allowed on the plus course even though he’s fully capable to do it. He was just scared of the zipline. I think the website needs to be updated. Plus parking here is pricey 🙈 we paid £9 for 2 and a half hours 😬 I don’t think we will be coming again to be honest
Website says £40 per person for Challenge plus at Sherwood, I’ve just been charged £44 per person for 2 people because I paid at the kiosk NOWHERE did it say anything about a 10% increase!
That’s abysmal- what are you going to do to make amends Go Ape?

Went out on segways Sunday, really enjoyed it our instructors Dan and Ralph were great. Also did the challenge plus course for the first time our instructor Karri made us feel confident in her briefing, definitely harder than expected but we really enjoyed it

Had a BuyaGift voucher. Tried to redeem. No matter what time or date I selected, I was told "Activities no longer available". I attempted to restart the process, and then was locked out for 25 minutes before I could try and redeem the voucher again.
I waited 25 minutes and attempted again. Same error being generated. Tried phoning their support number. Was on hold for an hour before giving up.
Something is horribly wrong with both your booking platform and general customer service.

We made a booking with Go Ape Southampton for my daughters' birthdays. Go Ape cancelled the booking and, rather than refunding the money as per their Terms and Conditions: "Should Go Ape feel it’s necessary to cancel your booking, it shall use reasonable endeavours to notify you as soon as possible. You shall be entitled to a full refund in the event of cancellation under this clause, but no other compensation shall be payable." they issued a refund so we could not book another activity on their birthday.
I have just spent 45 minutes on the phone to get a refund and they are still not picking up.
I also sent an email to the address stated in their response below but they have still not replied.
An utter disgrace.
Go Ape BROKE their very own T&Cs and they don't acknowledge customer calls to rectify their position. They don't reply to customer emails. They don't acknowledge what they have done in their replies to Trustpilot reviews, just give a generic response that no doubt they have given to all the other hundreds of customers who they also broke T&Cs with by not refunding their money.

Lucy was absolutely amazing!!!!
I’m a big worrier and was scared to do the Tarzan swing however I really wanted to do it. Lucy just stayed and chatted with me until I was comfortable and confident to do it. She also explained to me what each hook was doing and what would happen when I did jump. All of the staff were helpful however Lucy was absolutely fabulous!

Went to Grizedale yesterday on the 1pm slot to celebrate my sister’s birthday with my other half. The instructor was amazing, she went through everything in thorough detail and I felt safe with her help despite my anxiety (even though I’ve done this a couple of times before) I really enjoyed the event however half way around another advisor came around and pulled me on my hair not being tied back, bare in mind my hair just reaches my shoulders and was half up in 2 pig tales, he made me pull my hair down and put it back up in a pony tail which was at the same height that my pig tails were, it didn’t make sense and not only did that happen, he asked who our instructor was and said he was going to report her to management. I said to him “that’s a bit harsh, I don’t want you to grass on her” I understand that he was looking out for health and safety however for him to tell me that he was going to management because I wasn’t pulled on my hair sooner it made me feel awful because the lady was lovely and very informative- there are other ways to manage situations like this without having to brown nose your colleagues. We thought it was a bit extreme. Also the same man was watching my partner on the ladder and noticed that he had missed the green clip as he stepped on to the first step on the ladder and he came over and started asking about our instructor again and said he was going to report it to management again, I didn’t think this was necessary as it was my partners fault that he forgot the green clip because as I said before she was very informative and these were genuine mistakes. I think if you are going to raise a grievance against one of your colleagues, do it discreetly rather than telling us. I appreciate that you have a responsibility to keep us safe however I don’t think our instructor deserved to be reported to management for what was essentially our fault. Probably wouldn’t come to Grizedale again however Buxton is on our list to visit for a second time 🙂

My son visited the Thetford facility recently, requested a safety helmet only to be told they are not available.
Subsequently, was hit on the head by the heavy pulley used for securing the user to the safety ropes.
Upon returning home he developed a headache and dizziness the following day and was taken to A@E in Stoke Mandeville hospital fot a CT scan. The scan was clear, but a concussion was diagnosed and he was advised to rest at home for several days.
He did not report the incident at the time, unfortunately, but sent the centre a picture of himself in the A&E department, in a head restraint to the centre, to which there was no response from the centre.
Having visited similar facilities in other countries, wearing of protective head gear was always a non negotiable requirement - as it should be.
I find it astonishing that the company policy allows the use of the facility without protective head gear, was there ever any risk assessment carried out?
Can not recommend and will not use again, unless there is a change in the H&S policy
Appalling management at Dalkeith Country Park site! We went to Go Ape for a birthday party for my son's 8th birthday. The customer service at the reception box was slow and poor, I had to approach the guy to be served when was only one family and two members of staff.
Route Treetop Adventure Plus 1,2, and 3 were great many helpful staff in the area. However, route 4 is over the river there is restricted visibility of the obstacles only what we could see was a zip line to and from the main area. I took responsibility to supervise 6 of our children at the party from the ground, how I could see if they are attached well to the lines if I couldn't be there! One staff member was on the ground (!) when one of our boys was stuck on the platform just when landed from the zip line at the beginning of the course. The platform is tilted, and he was terrified. Kids were helping each other but they were struggling to help him out. He was absolutely terrified as he is just 120cm and was the smallest of the group, he was hinged on the platform when another child got pulled him to the inside of the platform. I was from my side where I was standing to ask for help from the staff and other parents asked other members of staff to help him from the place where they stand and still the member of staff was talking to kids from the ground! No one from the staff zipped through to the boy to help him out. It was very dangerous, and the safety rules were not applied at all in this course by the manager of the site! Staff told me that there is not enough staff on the site and that if they would come to our kids the other parents would ask them to do so also. Where is management? Where is health and safety provided on course no 4? Where is accommodation for adults to supervise kids there? Employ more staff or manage better this place before a serious accident will happen!!

I took my daughter here a year ago when she was 5 and had to pay for myself as well as her. I’ve just found out that under 6 the parents doesn’t pay. Hope you don’t get caught out as well.

This is the 1st time with family outdoor with my son and his age is 11. We had a great fun and adventures. We loved it. Will definitely make my calender booked for next time and more.
I really enjoyed and playing.
The guy named SEB at Sherwood was very friendly and cleared all my son doubt. He explained each and every thing regarding the safety and how to handle. Special thanks to him and his team. All staffs are good with their smiley faces.
I strongly recommend who ever needs to relax and get their physical build and get motivated by yourself with different level of challenges.
I could write more pages..... But in one word. I loved it. I will recommend to my friends and families members. I shall come along with them. Haahhaha

Went to go ape today at mallards pike Forest of Dean to do the tree top challenge. I was part of the 11am booking my name is Rose. The two fellas that were supporting us how to do the challenge were amazing! I struggled from the start, but every so often they would shout out encouragement and offering support. I really felt like I couldn’t do it , but my family and their support I completed it. These guys made the entire experience better, for that I’m truly thankful.
Sorry I can’t remember their names
