I ordered a vacuum online. It was delivered. I never received it I contacted Godfreys and they said there’s nothing they can do. They did nothing to help. Quick to take your money. I will never recommend them or order again.

Haven't received what I paid for

I paid for a stick animal vacuum cleaner nine days ago in store. It wasn't in stock but the sales person assured me I would receive it in three or four days. I still haven't received it and I rang the store to ask for a refund but they said no. The sales person told me to borrow a vac off someone until mine came in. I don't know anyone who will lend me one and I really need one now. I have cat fur everywhere and I'm having a house inspection by the owner in two days. Why can't I get a refund to buy another one?

No Spares and No Cares

No Spares available and they don’t really care.
I bought an expensive Hoover stick vac, the battery has failed and Godfreys are unable to sell me a replacement battery. They claim that due to the vac no longer being a current item they have no obligation to stock batteries as a consumable spare beyond the period that they sell they vacuum for. Having checked with the ACCC Godfreys are not correct and they are expected to keep spares for a reasonable time after they stop selling. Really poor customer service, they are not even interested in retaining my custom and are being wholly dismissive of their obligations under consumer law. Would never use this company again and would advise that you use a more customer friendly company to purchase from. Now I am expected to throw away an expensive stick vac and purchase a new one. What a waste.

If I had been able to leave 0 stars i would have. I have never, ever had such terrible customer service in my life. Sue - supposedly the manager of the Richmond and Chadstone stores - has just hung up on me - the customer. She has been nothing but rude, dismissive, arrogant, and simply revolting. After buying a vacuum cleaner from Godfreys in September (2023), the machine malfunctioned on the second use. Not only was I accused of it being my fault, but when I insisted on a new, replacement vacuum I was told 'no' that I would receive the repaired vacuum. I refused to accept this situation and after many, many phone calls over a four month period with the manufacturer (because Godfreys refused to assist), the replacement vacuum arrives in the Godfreys store. No phone call, no email to say it has arrived. I had to call them (for the 10th time) to check that it had arrived. I endeavour to collect it today and I am told I now cannot collect it because Godfrey's have gone into receivership. NO SURPRISES THERE! They are the worst company I have ever dealt with and Sue is the most appalling, rude and dismissive person I have ever had to deal with.

Customer service from front line staff and customer service terrible

As a customer of Godfreys Prahran and purchase five machines over 2 years , when i went in for a repair, we were quickly dismissed and the blame of the fault was put on to us , not the machine, we write to customer service of Godfrey 's to be greeted with an " i don't care approach and cannot help"

We would not buy anything from Godfrey again

Godfreys Robina, your in-store staff are the best! We brought our Electrolux/vacuum in for a service and received nothing but fantastic customer service. Our vacuum is on the last of its yearly, 10-year service and I must say that from Sydney where we originally purchased it to the Gold Coast. We cannot fault the Godfreys store and customer service dept. Our vacuum, by the way is in tip top condition. It’s no wonder we stay with you for our vacuum needs.

This is from geppscross S.A bought a roborock dyad vaccume cleaner floor washer cordless , loved the machine but after 4 months of use it was showing faults wouldn't work very bad service from robo Rock since the manager at godfreys didn't want to help after 3 months of back and fourthing
i wanted to upgrade instead of wating more time to a different machine it was faulty he said they had to send it interstate to get it checked before they could change it i had wait a further 3 weeks manager refuses to change the machine even though it had bad faults and he agreed to change it for me a week ahead , when i called him started raising his voice saying we can't do anything now as they fixed the problem that's not what we agreed I didn't want a machine that's going to keep breaking down common faults , disgusting service the manger who lies 1 staff member ignored my daughter when she bought in the txt in saying the machine was at their store he was all smiles to others and had the gall to tell my daughter well your going to have to wait since you brought the machine to us to send appalling never again, oh yes and he was calling me back which never happened.ive had to go through legal action.

Underwhelming customer service

I purchased a Nilfisk vacuum from Godfreys and needed to replace the plug for the second time. I had to drive for over an hour to drop it off at the Indooroopilly store whereupon the customer service representative requested a deposit of $50, which I paid. However, when I inquired about the progress of the repair after two weeks, I was disappointed to learn the minimum charge for the repair was $50 plus part/s and the turnaround was 3 weeks. I asked for a refund because I replaced the plug at Godfrey's in Cranbourne for $25 and was not advised of the cost or significant delay. Godfreys implied it was my fault because I didn't read the fine print in store and declined to refund my deposit until they received the vacuum back in 2 weeks! When I requested to escalate my complaint, Godfreys advised there was "no higher point of escalation." Appalling customer service! I ended up buying a Miele vacuum from Kogan, whom offer exceptional customer service and will never purchase another product or service from Godfreys

After a bad experience with 2 vaccums…

After a bad experience with 2 vaccums from crossroads Godfrey’s I took it back to Godfrey’s narellan . The manager helped sort out with getting the exchange voucher and what type of vaccum would work in my house. The vaccum she advised works perfectly sucks a heap of dirt in little time . Happily would go to the narellan store never crossroads again.

Be cautious when dealing with this company. Buy your vacuum cleaner from another retailer.

I had a bad experience when dealing with this company and would never buy a vacuum cleaner again from them. Their customer service is terrible and when your vacuum cleaner breaks down due to no fault of yours they couldn't care less. Please be very cautious when purchasing anything from this dodgy company

What went wrong

What went wrong. That's an understatement. Firstly, you deal with customer service only who have no idea at all. I ordered a Electrolux Ultimate Home Pet Stick Vacuum 900 cleaner through customer service. Was told they had one left in the distribution centre, well that was a BIG LIE. They took my $399 out of my account within a day but no vacuum was sent via AusPost. I kept chasing it up and was told that it would be coming. Again and again, I kept calling and was told that they have to email there distribution centre, now in QLD because Melbourne does not have any. Wouldn't you think that customer service would send me an email and tell me the situation and whether I would want a refund or not.
I decided to call a store in QLD to find out if QLD distribution centre would have any, the lady was lovely and had a look for me and told me that there aren't any there at all.

I decided to cancel my order and asked for a refund, and again I was told this was going to take a few days. They are quick to the mark to take your money out of your account but take forever to refund it back.

What a joke. Will never deal with Godfreys again.

We can see that your order was placed on the 24th of August, at the time the order was placed our warehouse was showing stock available.
Upon your contact on the 31st of August to advise the order had not been received, we followed this up with our warehouse and they advised that the stock levels were incorrect and there were no machines available for dispatch.
We do apologies for this error and that there was miscommunication causing no update of this being sent through to yourself.
We did send through an email to you on the same day (31st of August) with apologies and advising that we were trying to source the machine for you from another warehouse, however, this was unsuccessful.
The refund was requested on the same day and processed the next day on the 1st of September, a confirmation of this was emailed to you on the same day.
Unfortunately, even when a refund has been processed with our bank it can still take 1-2 business days to show in your account, this is a delay caused by your bank verifying and processing the refund.
Again, we do apologies for any issues and delays that occurred, however, as soon as we were made aware of the issue we did work as quickly as possible and resolved the matter within 24 hours.

Absolute waste of time and energy

I recently ordered a vacuum online from Godfrey’s - there was a banner on the site that said “1-2 day’s shipping if order online now” so I thought, why not! That saves me a trip out to collect it from my nearest store which is about 35mins away from home, plus it was free delivery. It was a no brainer to order it online and have it shipped directly to me. True to form, I received a dispatch notification a couple of days later letting me know my parcel has been scanned and on its way. A few days after that, still no vacuum and the track & trace link hadn’t been updated since the first notification to say it’s been scanned. I decided to send an enquiry via the courier site (as I didn’t think it was necessarily Godfrey’s issue) and 2-3 days later, still no response from Castle Parcels; the courier company. By then it was the weekend and so I had no choice but to wait til Monday to start chasing it up via phone. Long story short - I got the run around and ended up being told by Godfrey’s customer service (after I gave up on waiting for the courier company to provide actual updates, rather than the generic “we’ve submitted a request to track down your parcel, and we’ll send you an email with further updates”) that the courier company couldn’t find my parcel and that a replacement order will be dispatched in the next 1-2 days.

Can you guess what happened next? Yep, no dispatch notification received by day 2 and I followed up straight away as I wasn’t going to waste any more time. Godfrey’s weren’t empathetic at all & seemed more like I was corresponding with bots. I asked if I could just collect the vacuum I ordered from a store instead, and this didn’t seem to be an option so I ended up cancelling my order completely after two-weeks of waiting unnecessarily after getting the most annoying run around from both Castle Parcels and Godfrey’s customer service team.

I usually don’t make a fuss about things but I felt super compelled to share my experience, in the hopes that nobody else has to go through a similar ordeal! Fingers crossed this is just a one-off

I have a Janitor vacuum cleaner which I purchased 6 months ago.Godfrey's don't have the bags for this in stock anywhere. That makes it totally useless to me now.
I purchased a Sauber vacuum cleaner and steam mop in one. Went to Strathpine to purchase extra mop pads which are essential to have. Amazingly, the store is closed for renovations. Nothing on the website. Just cute little signs on the door.
Pretty sad way to run a business really.

Thanks Godfrey's for reaching out. However, I have now found the pads for the steam mop (genuine) from another source for half the price you charge. I've also found the vacuum cleaner bags for 25% less than your price.

I sent my vaccum to get fixed for it to be returned still not working after I paid. And they blame me for not fixing it. As I questioned why an item had to be replaced. They got annoyed that a customer was questioning something. This was Castle Hill Godfreys.

Red Henry purchased at Godfreys, Tauranga NZ

I bought a red Henry from Tauranga Godfreys. Mukesh was extremely helpful and polite. He had my file up on the computer as he was about to ring me to remind me he had put one aside for me just as I turned up. We had a blue Henry for about 30 years and Mukesh made me feel I was making a good purchase and at a good price. Well done Godfreys, Tauranga.

Customer Service Chermside - Horrid

I purchased a vacuum cleaner, an Electrolux from Godfreys Chermside and very soon after getting it home have realised that it really doesn't do much at all. When entering the store you are shown deceit and lies. They put some talc, or a bit of bicarb and some soft fluff on the floor which the vacuum picks up nicely. The customer, me then is happy and we make the purchase.
It does not pick up anything heavy than dust or fluff. Bird seed just spits out or as soon as you place the vacuum back on the holder everything you vacuumed up falls out. I took it back to Chermside Godfreys and they tested it again with fluff and talc and said that it wasnt faulty. I offered to go and buy some bird seed or something a bit heavier and bring it back and show them but they were not interested. The storesperson Kev couldn't get me out of the shop quick enough. Word to the wise take a packet of chips with you before purchasing. Apparently because I didn't take it back within 10 days there is nothing they can do and not under warranty because according to them it isn't faulty because it picked up their talc and fluff. They didn't offer to get the manager or assist in any way. My next step is the ACCC because the Vacuum cleaner does not do what they claimed it would do.

Liverpool Grdfrey Staff…

Had the most plesant experience yesterday at the Liverpool Shop.
My current vacuum needed the battery changed but unfortunately the Gentleman advised me that they were not qualified to repair the vacuum that I had. However he asked if I mind if he had a go but couldnot guarantee that he would be able to fix this vacuum cleaner.
without hesitation he looked and was able to fix the small problem which I had. I was extremely pleased with the service that I receive from these jets from these gentlemen’s.
If I had any future issues or even wish to purchase a new Vacuum Cleaner I would have no hestiation in visiting the Liverpool Branch of Godfrey.
Also I would advise all our friends to also visit the two gentlemen that works at this store.
