GO Outdoors - Leeds Reviews 

I needed to upgrade my walking boots for an upcoming DofE event & was in Leeds, so I went to Go Outdoors, where I was greeted by the lovely Lauren in the footwear department.
She asked all the important questions, to ensure I was getting the boots that suited use, my feet & my budget. She was very knowledgeable & helpful, with a great sense of humour to boot (pun intended, haha!) Nothing was too much trouble & her patience matched her skills. I settled for the boots that seemed to work best for me, Lauren suggested some suitable care products & socks to partner my boots & their purposes, but there was no pressure, in the way that some places try to push extras.
Lauren ensured I knew about the additional discount I could benefit from as a DofE leader, which was a great bonus!
Thanks Lauren, I'll be back to see you if I'm ever in the area again.

We went for fishing equipment at the York Road store. Gil was really knowledgeable, friendly and helpful and sorted out our son for his birthday! Super service!

I recently visited Go Outdoor Shop looking for a sleeping bag for my daughter's very first camping expedition, and I couldn't be happier with the experience! From the moment I walked in, the store had a great selection of quality outdoor gear that made it easy to browse options suited for beginners.
What really stood out was the fantastic help I received from staff member Jimmy. He was incredibly patient and insightful, taking the time to understand exactly what we needed for a young girl heading out on her first overnight adventure. Jimmy asked thoughtful questions about the trip details, weather expectations, and my daughter's comfort level, then guided us to the perfect sleeping bag — lightweight, warm, easy to pack, and kid-friendly without being overkill. His recommendations were spot-on, and he shared some great tips on layering and care that will make her first trip much more enjoyable and safe.
Thanks to Jimmy's expertise and friendly approach, I left the shop feeling confident and excited for her expedition. If you're gearing up for outdoor adventures, Go Outdoor Shop is the place to go — and be sure to ask for Jimmy! Highly recommend. 🚀🏕️

Staff overall are so kind and helpful.
The two assistants at the tills even took out the measuring tape so I could visualise the size of the rent.

Jimmy also helped me decide on what tent to buy, and explained the specs and the significance of each. Without his help I'd probably have gone home even more confused and stressed.

Went in to buy a present for a mate, Matt helped me decide on some socks.
They really like them but they’ve been wearing them on their hands.
Probably should’ve bought some gloves. Appreciate the help tho!

Got what I needed for a camping trip, great service, staff really helpful.

Lewis helped me out finding a zipped fleece jacket after arriving irate as someone stole my previous one. Very nicely spoken,patient and polite and helped find exactly what I wanted. Proper happy now, thanks lewis !!! One of those rare members of staff that care that customer is 100% happy.

I came in to look at some hiking boots & camping equipment, as someone with little experience I felt somewhat lost, I spoke with a gentleman called Matt who was extremely helpful, his knowledge was abundant and I could see his enthusiasm. Really fortunate to have had someone like that to guide me through.

I came in to the Leeds store looking for a sun hat.
I was impressed with the range available, and in the end I chose a Tilley one, as these were available in different sizes so I found one that was really comfortable.
The stand with the Tilley hats on could have been more organised as it was hard to find the different sizes. As it was against another display it was hard to access some of the hats, and the prices were unclear.
I then explored the sales rail and found 2 bargains - walking trousers at 25% of their original price and a down gilet at half price.
The checkout was quick and efficient.

I'm only dropping 1 star as when I got home I looked online and found the same hat available significantly cheaper elsewhere. But Go Outdoors honoured their price match promise with no hesitation when I went back in. I'd therefore be happy to shop with them again, but may well check price competitiveness before purchasing.

I am a student who plans to go abroad with Camps International in just a few weeks ! I was served today by Lucy who greatly helped me in explaining what equipment would be best suited. I really appreciated the support and her own experience and I would really recommend Go Outdoors. The customer service is great !
