Good to find a store that stocks good quality Brands and not cheap rubbish (like Mountain Warehouse). In my lifetime I have always used Blacks as my first choice.

Store we visited had a very good range of clothing, shoes, coats and backpacks with a wide range of prices. Staff very friendly.

A good choice of items given I was buying walking shoes and the helpful young lady Jess.

I found a coat I loved in the sale, unfortunately it was too big and the right size was not available in store. Amy was extremely helpful, checking availability in other stores and managed to find the coat in the Milton Keynes store, she then rang up to check it was definitely there and then reserved it for me. I’d give 5 stars for customer service. Amy was really friendly and helpful.

Due to confusion with an email from the school, which meant I had less than a day to get everything organised for a DofE trip. Despite the short notice, the staff were incredibly accommodating and took the time to guide me through the options.
A special mention to Cameron, who could see we were under a pressure with time. He remained calm, spoke clearly, and walked us through the choices step by step, also pointing us to where we could find additional information if needed. Nothing felt rushed or pushed. We got everything we needed in one trip (<1 hour),
The level of care, attention and product knowledge genuinely stood out. The whole experience felt very polished and considered.
A very positive experience, and I would happily recommend the store.

A great shopping experience today at the Northampton branch of Go Outdoors. We are looking to purchase our first tent, and honestly we had no idea what we were looking for! Cam offered his assistance and his knowledge was outstanding, but not pushy at all. Really grateful for his help and as a result we ending up buying our tent!

Hannah was a great help in deciding on new hiking shoes for my upcoming trip. Plenty of advice and fantastic service.

I came in for a pair of walking shoes that offered a little extra toe space and are relatively light weight (lm taking part in a 50km Ultra Challenge).
I was served initially by Kaliah and then Christine. Both ladies were friendly and showed good knowledge of their products which helped me make my decision.
I’m very happy with my purchase and the service l received.

Hannah in Northampton store was very helpful and knowledgeable.

I returned a pair of Peter Storm walking boots that was purchased 1-4-2026 unfortunately the right boot started rubbing , when I went back to the store 3-4-2026 the staff were very helpful and understanding and said choose another pair of boots and we will exchanged the boots even though I had worn them and hadn’t got the box. Hannah was absolutely first class very understanding and brought a selection of walking boots 6 pair in total , Hannah was very knowledgable on all makes of boots and even explained which boot would be suitable on different terrains after about 30 mins I decided and listening to Hannah’s advice on the Merrell Accentor 3 GORE-TEX® Mid Boots ,hassle free and very good service from beginning to end

We were helped by Hannah today in the shoe department in the Northampton branch. She was amazing, really knowledgeable and friendly. She helped myself and husband find our perfect shoes for our trip.
The staff at the payment desk were also very friendly and helpful.
