Great customer service and Welsh tuition
Stopped to pick up a good but affordable coat at the Porthmadog store. The assistant (possibly manager?) went out of his way to help. He spent loads of time explaining waterproofing and breathability in words I could understand, with some humour sprinkled in, and some help with my Welsh pronunciation. Came out with a great coat, that I could afford, that will keep rain off for long enough, and able to say "Diolch"! Great coat

Porthmadog go outdoors…
Visited Porthmadog go outdoors to get some walking shoes for my son on Easter weekend.
It was really busy.
We were helped by a staff member called Alfie, he was so calm and really helpful even though lots of customers were requsteing shoes from the stores. He gave us some great advice on choosing the right hiking shoe for our son.
He even took us to the till to serve us.

Had our tent pole snap on our first day…
Had our tent pole snap on our first day camping with the family. Went for a replacement and although the shop doesn't provide repairs. Phil and Marc went above and beyond and not only showed me what we needed but repaired my current one. Amazing customer service.

Excellent service when I needed a bag quickly
I needed a new bag at short notice for a scramble on Tryfan. The shop assistants were polite, helpful, and knowledgeable, and gave me good advice on the different options available.
After considering all the choices, I bought a lightweight 22L Lowe Alpine backpack, which turned out to be perfect for the job.
