Went here today for a look round
Went here today for a look round, lots of nice and unusual planters which I will probably come back and buy.
Ordered a sausage, bacon and egg bap. Quite pricey considering the sausage was brown on one side but didnt look cooked at all underneath and the roll tasted like it was a few days old. That pricing is fine for a quality, fresh roll and evenly cooked contents and nice presentation, but it was so basic I'd expect it from some dodgy roadside burger van where I'd also pay half the price I expect. Maybe the owners should do some research and try some comparatively priced breakfasts at Bumble and Bee or Franklyns- quality ingredients and nice presentation.

Colour fading
Have used company previously and been very happy. However ordered a repeat order of grey rubber stepping stones ( product number same) to extend an existing path - arrived promptly and looked good on receipt. Unfortunately after laying the new steps quickly faded from a dark colour to a light grey almost blue colour. Reported this to company as unable to return (as I had used them) and they referred me to website which state colour can differ - the original colour was ok it is the fading that is the problem as visual effect of path is spoilt. - disappointed with response- have put review on their website and will be interested to see if it is published - I am sourcing elsewhere and testing before purchasing more
NOT 'Great Customer Service' as advertised!
Having spent just short of £1200 with this company in less than 12 months, I would have hoped for slightly better customer service. I made an error with an order, but as I was ordering again, I enquired about returning the incorrect items when the courier delivered the new order.
This isn't possible. You have to have to arrange the return yourself, even though the items are bulky.
That's fine. I can buy the items elsewhere and so I have taken my business elsewhere and will not return to Greenfingers in the future.
Spending a few minutes on the phone, at least attempting to resolve this matter would have gone a long way. This isn't 'Great Customer Service' as you brag about on your website, and it isn't good business sense. You've lost a customer, who was regularly spending with you.
Poor Customer service
Item did the usual lost in transit , this time at yodel.
My problem with the support , is after u contacted them saying I think its lost, they said too soon wait 2 weeks.
2 weeks and a bit I contacted them again and they just did a brief replace or refund ?
No apologies at all.
I purchased a 4.43 x 2.44 Greenfingers…
I purchased a 4.43 x 2.44 Greenfingers green house. Sadly, I wasted my over $630 dollars. I attempted to construct this with the help of my son. What a ridiculous constructed building. It is so flimsy. You couldn't have a breeze blowing and I live on the coast which is rare to not have a breeze. And you require a dozen people to hold it in place while you try and get the pieces together. The instructions take a while to figure out and honestly if you have to keep pulling it apart to slot tiny little bolts in that you may have missed is absolutely not viable. I do not recommend anyone to buy this product. I have decided to build it in timber and use the poly carbonate sheets, so at least, I get to use some of my wasted money. I brought this at the end of 2023 so it has been a while, before I needed to construct it, so don't have any comeback. But wanted everyone to know of my horrible experience. Wouldn't let me put the actual date I brought it, but I only just tried to construct it this month.
Cafe - Terrible customer service
At least two or three times a month I take my elderly dad for fish and chips in the cafe. The portion size of the fish is very inconsistent, today it was very poor really small fish. The size didn’t justify the price of £14.95. Although it was disappointing I didn’t complain as we had waited 35 minutes for our food.
My brother and his partner joined us and ordered fish and chips his portion was even smaller. He did mention this to the staff and they offered him another piece of fish however as he had waited over 30 minutes for his meal he decided not to wait any longer. I believe it was the manageress that came to clear the table blonde hair with glasses. I was speaking to my brothers partner and said to her the portions are shocking today. The manageress turned to me and said ‘Don’t you talk to me like that’. I was shocked at the way she spoke to me and explained I wasn’t talking to her and I asked for an apology. She then was argumentative and said ‘well you were looking at the plate when you said it so I thought you were talking to me’. She refused to apologise.
I’ve never been spoken to like that in any restaurant or shop before.
Maybe she was having a bad day as they appeared to be under staffed.
Because of the customer service today if I could have marked the review a zero I would have.
I won’t be visiting the cafe again unless I receive an apology from her
I highly rate this company
Very prompt deliveries, very well packaged and all complete
Lately, 6 slimline water butts and stands all delivered safely in three different orders. I have used greenfingers many times in the past, mainly for the rubber edgings and rubber stepping stones. Years later and all are pristine, exactly as placed in my garden
Anyone can "mow" Paul manicures my acerage
Paul does not just "mow " my acreage, he manicures it. He really thinks about how he mows it, so it looks so neat. even my Neighbours continuously comment on how good it looks compared to the last contractors we used for over 12 months prior.
Couldn't resolve missing items in order
Ordered two of the Garland Raised Bed Pop Up Cloche Covers. Delivered OK, but the ridge poles were missing - not the end of the world as I could use regular bamboo canes instead, but I asked Greenfingers to provide the proper poles as I'd paid for them. After some back and forth their response was that they couldn't locate "replacement" parts for me and that the poles would "most definitely" have been in the box that the cloches came in (but outside the inner bag that the cloche material was in) so I was stuck with 2 cloches with no ridge poles. I've purchased this same cloche previously from a different supplier so I doubt very much I'd have accidentally "missed it" when unpacking the box (and even less likely that I'd then have thrown away the poles when flat packing the box for recycling).
Purchased 32 eco rubber stepping stones…
Purchased 32 eco rubber stepping stones from Greenfingers before I read all the bad reviews. Not like me but the price distracted me. I was a bit worried but I had no problems with greenfingers or the product. Good communication from them and delivery company quick delivery and well packaged. Saved about £80 off anyone else I could find with this product.
Garden furniture aged rapidly
Bought some wooden garden furniture (acacia patio table and chairs) this spring. Before the end of the summer it looked really bad and was dreadfully discoloured. My complaint went nowhere other than I was advised that "you may need to stain or repaint your furniture once a year". This was not mentioned when I bought it.
Read the reviews
Read the reviews - avoid! Ordered some garden edging but only part of the order showed up. Courier photos provide evidence. Despite this, they have taken the full order amount from my bank and refused to provide the rest of the order. I’ve no option but to pursue legal action after they have fulfilled only part of my order. Use another store and avoid them!
Greenfingers lie and mislead customers
Greenfingers supplied a set of two planters that were in dreadful condition - the wood was covered in furry grey mould. The planter was not constructed, despite the website describing it was supplied as a planter but we thought nothing of this at the time.
We sent photos of the mouldy wood, clearly showing the furry mould the supplier of this planter (who sold to Greenfingers who resold to customers) made us jump through hoops to get a replacement planter and asked us of photos of the 'whole item' which is impossible when it is wrapped in plastic. I queried that I had to unwrap a disgusting mouldy planter but they insisted and because it was impossible to take photos of the whole item, I had to create numbered pieces of paper to show which bits were being photographed. It took me 45 minutes to take the photos they demanded and had to send nearly 30 photos before they were satisfied.
They finally sent a replacement planter (for the mouldy one) which was better. However when I opened up the packaging I realised that the plastic packaging ties had been stapled into the wood, and when removed, left big marks in the wood as it is very soft. Also the liner had been stapled to the wood with the tiniest staples ever, meaning there was no possibility of levering the staples out without ripping the liner.
I contacted Greenfingers and they arranged for replacement liners to be sent.
At this stage I really should have given up and returned the item - the whole experience was so painful and difficult but I am a very patient person and so decided to persist.
So I then I sprayed the pieces of wood with paint before we made it up.
Then... oh dear. We looked at the instructions for the flat pack and realised that there were no pre-drilled holes anywhere and no marks where you are supposed to drill holes. The instructions were very vague on where the holes were supposed to go. We also had to drill two holes perpendicular to each other within 1 cm of each other, meaning that the holes could have easily met during drilling.
The whole construction process was dreadful, even for a relatively experienced handy person. And it took two people nearly 3 hours to construct both planters. For this we needed a drill, an electric screwdriver, and a workmate bench to hold the wood in place while it was being drilled. We also needed a second person to stand away while the wood was being drilled to ensure that the drill bit was as straight as possible in both directions (bearing in mind that two holes on each wooden supporting pole had to be drilled very close together at 90 degrees - leaving just 1cm space buried within the wood, so we couldn't see if the holes had crossed over.
Also, the screws supplied are not long enough, because the planters are so badly pre-cut that the wooden base is way too small for the space.
The whole thing is appalling, poor quality, badly described on the website, sold in shocking condition, and drastically overpriced for what you get. I was asked to submit a review by Greenfingers on the product which I did, but they have not published it, as they want to hide the truth from their customers. I emailed them asking about this and they did not reply (despite replying to all my other customer query emails previously). They have not changed the description on the website so they are still misleading customers and blatantly lying to them.
The description on their website gives no mention to the fact that you have to do a construction job and is effectively lying to customers by stating that the planters come 'fitted' with a liner which is categorically not true and very misleading. See the current description of the product

Greenfingers Aluminium Polycarbonate Green House
Bought a large 5.1x2.44m Polycarbonate Green House and it didn't even last 2 days. Material was flimsy, and frame was a poor grade aluminium which bent very easily. Wouldn't recommend this product at all. With the slightest of breezes, the greenhouse crumpled and imploded on itself with the framework bending and the polycarbonate panels blowing in the wind. Worst investment that I have made.
Great products at the best price
Great products at the best price !
I purchased some recycled rubber wood effect railway sleeper stepping stones . They were the same quality as the ones I previously purchased from B&Q but they were cheaper . They offered an even cheaper price for purchasing 4 - so win win !
Free and fast delivery too . I will definitely look here again 👏
Pretty useless
Pretty useless. They frequently turn up and sit in the van for an hour then drive away. Today the driver hasn't got out of the van but the younger lad is feverishly mowing the lawns by himself! They never touch the beds or trim the ivy or lower branches.
Total CRAP
Total CRAP. Please don't waste your time and money buying from here. 2 products purchased at the same time and 2 products have had to be fixed at our expense. Definitely not worth the money or time and effort putting the items together and the instructions made absolutely no sense not even to a friend who was a builder. Total CRAP material. I was hoping to save my hubby work time by buying prefab hot houses as we were moving and needed something to erect quickly and here we are months later and still assembling and fixing the product of 1 and assembling another yet he would have had what he wanted built from scratch by now. There should be a negative rating star button to press because that's what it would get.

Aluminium greenhouse disapointment
Bought a aluminum polycarbonate approx 3 by 2m.
Quite difficult instructions , luckily found a smaller version on line that had more detailed pictures.
Very flimsy aluminum, have in a sheltered spot and panels blow out regularly. Most annoying for the Neighbours.
I have the pegs cemented in and on a nice base of gravel. We close it up if any breeze but regardless what we do the clips don't seem to hold the polycarbonate panels in there frame. Many panels blow out even in moderate wind.
Very frustrating for 1500NZD, it was quite an invesment for us.
