Scam letter received

Received a letter with a QR code saying I was eligible for a 4k grant. Looked it up - company is only a 'marketing' company and smells like a scam.

Although this is obviously a SCAM

Although this is obviously a SCAM, in response to some of the other peoples reviews I "think" it is actually possible to update a FIT system with a higher power level system and keep your FIT payments from my reading of things. However you have to get this properly installed and notified, and the FIT payments will be based on the original capacity of the system only so might have marginal benefit. You can also move your FIT exports to a different provider and get more than the base FIT export level. However I may be wrong.

A letter addressed to 'Homeowner'…

A letter addressed to 'Homeowner' telling me I am eligible for up to £4000 with Green Homes Scheme to replace my solar panels. It will not affect my FIT Payments, but will significantly increase my payments as panel efficiency has improved.
By upgrading, I will also receive an extra 10p per kw of generation in addition to my FIT Payments.
To register, scan the QR Code or call 0800 047 8672.
No website shown, sounds too good to be true, so it probably is

I think it is scam as others are…

I think it is scam as others are reporting here. Letter came from 'Green Homes scheme' staing we could update our solar panels , get up to £4000 grant and it would not affect our Fit payments.
That's not what the FIT policy says, when you upgrade to higher exports they will will not pay.

Funny as I live in a housing association bungalow and not the owner. Must be doing this all over the country try. I'm in Weston-super-Mare. Appreciate all the other reviews, knew there was something dodgy about the letter.

received letter today to replace my…

received letter today to replace my 250w panels with 435w panels! why would I wanna do that? if I change the output of my system and increase its output to above my registered fit level I WILL lose my fit payments!!!
full of more lies to the unwitting and do not believe anything they tell you.
5 days later I get an email from my FIT provider ( Good Energy) warning me That GreenHomes Scheme is an out & out scam and please do not be taken in by their Mis-truths as you may lose your Fit payments if you drastically change your system.

Can't give it 0 stars

Can't give it 0 stars. Clearly a scam. Not even a limited company. Letter addressed to "homeowner", very suspicious. Green Energy Scheme quoted does not exist. Report it and recycle the letter.

Don't risk scanning a random QR code

Never ever scan a QR code unless you are absolutely sure it's genuine. Very dodgy method used for scamming to get your information
(There's a (verified) scam going round with car parking QR stickers which makes me very cautious).

Beware

Beware! I can find no reference to the '£4000 Renewable Energy Grant' that Green Homes Scheme (GHS) refer to in their letter. There's no reply to the 0800 number on their letter (prefixed my call with 141 so as not to share my Caller ID with them) and finally if you upgrade your PV panels and thereby increase the capacity of your installation the additional capacity will not be eligible for FIT payments.

Thank you Trustpilot

Thank you Trustpilot for the helpful comments. I was suspicious and checked here and also comments on the Moneysavingexpert forum. Particularly glad to be told that FIT may not be paid for extra capacity.

I am thrilled with the green home…

I am thrilled with the green home scheme for connecting me with rhe right installer tor my energy efficient upgrade. After receiving 3 quotes I opted for the middle one and couldn't be happier with the results I am now enjoying 80% savings on my energy bills. Although the installation process was smooth there was minor hiccup the installers worked rather late which was destructive for my children. They didn't finish until 8pm. However the end result was worth it. Over all I am delighted with the green home scheme and the installer they recommend. I highly recommend their services to anyone looking to make their home more energy efficient. Very happy

Satisfied with the installation

Satisfied with the installation! The extra features I paid for, such as the EV car charger and the immersion heater boost for free hot water, have been a game-changer.

But what really impresses me is the ability to monitor my system's performance through the app. Being able to log in and see exactly how much energy my system is generating is not only fascinating but also helps me optimize my energy usage.

Overall, I'm thrilled with the installation and the benefits it's brought to my home. Highly recommend!"
